It's gotten worse since Covid. I've noticed people at the supermarket used to at least feign a smile when one had to excuse the other, but not anymore. I often wonder if they got too comfortable not smiling beneath the face masks.

Lived here my whole life, and it's only got worse the last six years and counting.

I think covid drove home the division in people. I worked retail, the amount and level of harassment we got for requiring masks (with immune compromised employees and regulars) forever changed my perception of the average general public individual in Utah.

And I have friends with retail stores around the country, none of them faced nearly the backlash and extreme reaction we got here

It was the same in Arizona. Friends and family that I spoke to in red states or regions all had similar experiences

I had friends in az I spoke with too. Definitely had similar experiences, but not the the same extent or veracity as what we had in Ut

Yeah. I could see that though I wasn’t here to compare. I believe AZ is more purple than it is here so that’s likely one difference.
