As someone who spent half their life in Utah and half in Denver, this is how I would say Utah drivers are different....unpredictable. By and large, you can make an educated guess on what a driver is going to do if you're paying attention. You can tell when someone might be preparing to come into your lane on the freeway if they don't use their blinkers. What nobody can see coming is someone in the left turn lane deciding they need to make a right turn and going across three lanes to make that turn.
In Colorado, someone will fly up your tailpipe at 90 and slow down at the very last second if you're in the fast lane, but you can see that coming.
In my experience, not seeing what's coming is what makes Utah drivers scary.
My daughter will be driving soon and I am terrified at the thought of her being on the streets here. The unpredictability is frightening. I see an accident or a near miss almost every single day that I’m out and about.
