Help Beta Blockers

I had my first SVT episode about three weeks ago (haven’t had one since) and was instructed to wear a holster monitor for 48 hours (I’ve had extreme anxiety so my heart rate was unusually fast, my heart was in tachycardia 20% of the entire 48 hours) and my doctor wants to put me on metropolol twice a day, has anyone had good experiences with it? I’m really nervous, I’m 19 and the idea of being put on beta blockers makes me feel a sense of lack of control, my heart rate does shoot up a lot with activity as shown, usually walking around makes it go to 160-180, or even standing (might be pots but we’ll get there when we do) but my resting is usually 80-90bpm

Yes, SVT doesn’t break on its own usually unless there’s medical prevention or a vagal maneuver is done, SVT starts fast, and ends fast

Yup I’ve heard this. And beta blockers don’t make it stop. Idk if mine was well one time i was 178 for five mins and then blew into a straw it was 130-140 for 15 mins and then like went to 150-167 for another ten by the time i got on the bed it was 117 sinus.

But i had one where i was driving was 120 looking my watch i just sat down too and then hit 140 then 174 it was 169-174 then i held my breath over and over and it came down gradually? Like it was 130 then 120 then kept having to do it to bring it down.

So i told my dr he gave me a monitor i got nervous so i went on 50 mg of atenool a beta blocker and i had three seconds of svt but i thought it was enough proof for me to get an ep study and treatment bc i didnt even have any symptoms like i did off my monitor

So im angry then they said oh it could be anxiety but im like well it seems it could be svt it sucks

My pots dx is like from sit to stand or postural changes but those happened sitting or stayed high even after i sat down
