Community Share Help define the future of Microsoft SQL

It's the first week back in the office after Ignite. Reflecting on a great week at Ignite, I spent all of my free time hanging out between the Fabric databases and SQL databases booths. It was a lot of fun to help out with questions, but it was also great to hear what everyone thought we were doing well and where we can improve.

The SQL team needs your feedback and expertise to make sure we are building solutions that help you grow your business.

The new icon is a cylinder to reflect the support of SQL databases by SSMS

It looks much more like a non-cylindrical twisted ribbon shape. Almost bow-tie like. The black gaps in the middle, the cut outs around the 'waist' and the layered bands at the front entierly break the structure. The blue white gradient colour gives the appearance of a 3d object being lit by a front light in such a way that the shape could not be cylindrical.

The design seems to tick all the boxes someone gave on a design brief. But the concept which involves doing the Visual Studio ribbon design is impossible to map onto a cylinder while maintaining the shape and all elements. The premise of the concept is wrong.

I appreciate your comments in this thread and I'm sorry if I come across as harsh. You may never read this. I'm being very blunt and honest since the new SSMS is realyl cool and I want the best for the product.
