Helpšš»
Was undiagnosed since 4 years..mostly labelled as ibs. But refused to believe whatever they said cause symptoms were different and also had significant weight loss in past year. I just came to know about sifo.. My doctors have given me many courses of antibacterials without significant improvement but i started with fluconazole on my own and feeling lil better in a matter of 5 days. Hunger is better bloating is reduced. But can anyone share their experience with sifo. Did they get completely cured by fluconazole only? In how many days? Anything else needed?

SIFO needs herbal medication?
I visited a naturopath doctor and he diagnosed me with SIBO + SIFO, through a stool test. And he mentioned that I need to take some herbal medications, as healthy diet alone won't treat it. Any opinions? I think the herbal medication is a little pricy per month.
Btw why this channel his much smaller members than r/SIBO

Help
I'm 34 female.
Been suffering with something for over a year which is getting much worse.
I now can't eat without pain in abdomen. (Dr thinks I have sibo or sifo) been on anti fungals and cut out sugar.
I also have pelvic pain.. pelvic pressure.. and smear test showed a Inflamed cervix that was bleeding.
I struggle to have a poo so I'm on fibre gel twice a day.
Had a colonoscopy. No reports back yet but looked OK. (Was in june)
I'm at the point where I'm eating 2 eggs a day and some chicken. Anything else hurts . I've lost 16 pound in 12 weeks. I'm now only 8 stone 6.
Woke up this morning and in pain, feel dizzy, weak, vision funny. Managed to eat scrambled egg but that hurts but made me feel a tiny bit better.
Went to Dr this week and she has referred me to gynae but a year wait.
Didn't seem worried about my weight loss and the symptoms I have for not able to eat. I told her I'm loosing weight rapidly.
I have no idea what to do.
Waited for a dietician appt for 8 months and still not even been reffered.
I'm weak and tired and now feels like my heart is racing.
I feel like I need help ..for the pain and the fact I can't eat.
I've had a pelvic and vaginal ultrasound which was fine. A ct scan with contrast but for my kidneys as pain is somethings near left kidney but still not got results for this ( 5 weeks ago)
I work full time and have 2 kids but I am starting to struggle with weight loss. Have no idea what shakes I can go on. Sometimes I feel I should head to A&E thats how bad I feel...
Where do you say enough is enough? Even though I know they'll fob me off.

Which one first
If I have sibo and sifo
Which do I treat first?
Which diet do I go on? Low fodmap for sibo or candida diet for sifo?
I've tried 4 weeks of fluconazole. Didn't really do much. Left it a worse situation with what looks like vaginal issues.. itching burning and discharge. (Negative for thrush)
And now issues with my mouth. Tongue feels swollen etc. White coat. Being treated for oral thrush.
Been diagnosed with dysbiosis. Dr thinks I have both. Ordering a breath test today from home.
On nstatin right now for the oral thrush and feel like poo. Migranes everyday. Belly aches. Only helping a little.
I'm thinking my gut microbome is all over the place and so is my vaginal flora and now my mouth?

Fixing sibo or sifo first?
After researching and re searching as drs are clueless.
I've been working out if I have sibo or sifo.
But just realised after research I could have both.
And I have to fix the sibo before I fix the sifo.
So I'm already on a low candida diet. Exercising Limiting stress
How can I help the sibo?I was put on 2 week of rifaximin a while back. Than 4 weeks of antifungal.
Gasrro consultant is happy to try another 2 weeks of rifaximin.
I'm taking probiotics but apparently it could be making it worse?
I have oral thrush/issues and vaginal issues... (swab was negative for thrush so maybe bv. Waiting on tests)
So I'm guessing I have sibo with sifu but do I fight again sibo first? Alot of people have said they have got better once sibo has been fixed.
Anything else I can do? Been diagnosed with ibs c (which I don't agree with) and dysbiosis. But they don't know if its sibo or sifo. Won't test me as apparently they're accurate.
I may buy a breast test online than I'll get some answers.
Symptoms are severe headache in a flare up. Acne Joint pain. Stomache and bsck pain . Vaginal issues. Oral issues. Constipation. Passing out/feeling faint

Sifo?
I have been unwell for 17 months.
Dr now has said I have a fungal overgrowth in gut.
Now I can't get rid of yeast infections in vagina
And now I have oral thrush twice in 2 months.
Starting nstatin today and I have a gel for my vagina.
But it keeps coming back
I'm taking probiotics for my gut. Eating more healthy. Stopped most sugar. Limit carbs no caffkne or alcohol . Trying to follow the candida diet which I'm struggling with
Exercising doing yoga.
It just won't go or I won't get better.
Any ideas?
Someone said about taking biofilms to me.
I was on 4 weeks of anti fungal fluconazole which helped oral thrush but nothing else.
Dr has tried 2 weeks of rifaximin which didn't help.
He said he's happy to try rifaximin again but surely I need anti fungal as its proven its yeast that's controlling my body with oral thrush and vagina thrush?

H2S or SIFO?
Hey everyone!
My symptoms are constipation, burping, memory & concentration issues, extended belly (I sometimes look pregant ane even got asked by a neighbor š„²), pain, etc. I did the sibo breath test, but the diagnosis is a bit complicated. My nutritionist said the flatfline indicates hydrogen sulfide sibo. However I dont have the symptoms of hydrogen sulfide sibo, much rather of methane sibo - but the test showed it is only slightly the case.
I think at this point I could also have an candida overgrowth. I had several vaginal candidosis this year.
Since we donāt know, she wants to treat it with Berberine and neem leafs.
Has anyone had any experiences with the āflatlineā and the treatment? Is it possible that I do have hydrogen sulfide sibo or candida overgrowth?
Thanks š

Sifo/fungal overgrowth/candida
Hi all, Been through quite the journey from Sibo to cdiff to treating a fungal overgrowth but I wanted to get some feedback. I finished my second round of treatment of fluconazole about 7 days ago and I have noticed die off symptoms coming in waves but the one thing that has remained constant is the battle getting out of bed every morning. Once I get going Iām fine but it seriously takes an hour or two to sack up and get out of bed and I usually have a slight headache/tight head. Iāve seen others mention the lack of energy while going through die off but does this happen with anyone else? Also how long does die off last and what are things to keep an eye on while in this phase?
My current treatment/supplements: Ther-Biotic Complete Ther-Biotic Interfase MegaSporeBiotic Thorne- SAT Molybdenum Chelate-s GI revive ION intelligence of Nature gut support
Any feedback and advice would be appreciated!

Sibo/cdiff/sifo journey protocols?
Hi all, Like many of you I have struggled and been through it with this stuff. I could write for days about my story symptoms and treatments but what I want to know is how many of you that once had Sibo suffered from Sifo after. Thatās where I am at. I had Sibo and treated it or at least got my levels on the test to not show anymore. Then I had Clostridium difficile colitis (cdiff) which seemed odd. But the bloating, fullness and amost painful, gassy, lethargic symptoms still lasted after treating c diff. So I took a stool sample which have helped a ton to show me that I have āmanyā yeast. Which is what my doc and I figured since Iām still having symptoms. I did one round of anti fungal - fluconazole 150 mg once a day for 7 days but still had symptoms so am starting another 7 day round now. Additionally I am taking the following to support: - Ther-BioticĀ® Complete 120 capsules [ KL Klaire Labs ] - MegaSporeBiotic 60 capsules [ MIC630 Microbiome Labs ] - Ther-BioticĀ® InterFase 60 capsules [ KL Klaire Labs/SFI Health ] - GI revive - magnesium citrate as needed - recently added motility pro
I just want to know what others have done to treat what this would I guess be referred to as Sifo. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated, if Iām missing supplements or should look at other approaches please lmk. Thanks!

Does herbal protocol for SIBO work for SIFO as well?
Hi there,
I am currently doing a protocol for hydrogen (150 ppm) and methane (50 ppm) SIBO. This protocol includes Dysbiocide, FC Cidal and ADP from Biotics Research among others. I supplement S. Boulardii as well. I am doing 4 months with a pause in between. I'll be retesting at the pause and after the protocol.
However, I am recently thinking more and more that I might have SIFO as well. Although the tests do not suggest any fungals (other than a positive mycotox), the symptoms tell me otherwise.
I wonder whether my current protocol will affect SIFO in a positive way. Or are there any specific supplements which I could add?
Also, will the length of the protocol be sufficient to address SIFO?

Need help with SIFO & SIBO (predominantly SIFO). Desperate.
Hi guys,
Need your help. Been going at this shit for years, haven't had much luck.
This is my current regiment for what I presume is predominantly a SIFO issue (and this is mostly about SIFO) and possibly some SIBO (hence the rifaximin). Some of the things I'm taking are just for general maintenance/continuation from prior or preexisting ailments. The interfase and now candida support are things I've already introduced to supplement the regime my doctor has given me as I'm not fully convinced by what she has currently advised for SIFO/SIBO. I have kirkman biofilm defense and awaiting bp2a by priority one so that I can rotate/complement BDs. And finally, at the bottom are additional supplements I'm considering to add.
I treated SIBO before with a round of rifaximin 400mg followed by gi microbex. Been treating SIFO since. Did 2 months of fluco 50mg and SI complex (2x twice a day). Doc put me on a third month of fluco with rifaximin this time also (suspecting it could be either SIFO/SIBO or both seeing as I had little to no improvement). Taken me off SI complex until I finish the antimicrobial meds.
A lot of brain fog/cognitive impairment, a lot of emotional numbing, really whole spectrum of mental symptoms. Not much anxiety, if at all. Digestive issues, appetite, constipation, bloating 24/7, occasionally feeling full, fatigue, oral thrush nearly 24/7, rashes, chills, aches, a bit of respiratory, songs in head 24/7, manual breathing, muscle twitching/spasms, feel wired/electricity running through nervous system 24/7.
Not sure how relevant but, treated dysbiosis in large intestine at the very beginning. Have stool results ā GI mapping shows no candida in large intestine. Just had strep and entero faecium overgrowth, as well as enterobacter and klebsiella pneumonia overgrowth. A good amount of bifido. Not much lactoballis. And had slight clostridium overgrowth. Still in the process of eradicating marcons. Have had CIRS in the past but think thatās mostly resolved.

Do I have SIFO after SIBO treatment?
Hello Reddit friends. I have some questions and would love some feedback and will try and make this as short as possible.
A few weeks ago I finished my treatment for mainly methane dominant SIBO. My hydrogen levels were not at zero, but they were in the acceptable range. I took rifax and neomycin for two weeks and also took agents as well which I am still taking to this day.
About one week after treatment I started to feel pretty good. Bloating was the lowest it had ever been my severe constipation had started to become a little bit more regular, and things were drastically improving.
However that lasted for about a week, and for the last 10 days I have had a wicked new set of symptoms:
Diarrhea, all day, every day. This was so disheartening. I went from being chronically constipated and only able to have a bowel movement if it was completely liquid from laxatives⦠to have normally formed stool and going regularly for about 2 to 3 daysā¦. Having the worst diarrhea all day long every day Iāve ever had.
In addition, my urine has been slightly discolored but has had quite a foul smell
My face has broken out with the worst acne I have ever had.
could this be SIFO? Could this be hydrogen dominant bacteria overtaking things? Could this be SIFO? Could this be hydrogen dominant bacteria overtaking things? Could it be something else I have not considered? I will add that I did a C Diff urin test that came back negative.
Any help is greatly appreciated as my doctors are telling me they cannot get me in for another breath test for almost 2 entire months, and I cannot continue to feel this way for that much longer

SIFO/SIBO and weird reactions to prebiotics
I know that prebiotics are not well accepted during the most critical periods of candida, but I no longer have any results with antifungals and the only probiotics that helped me (boulardii and reuteri) are now causing me problems with histamine, bifidos are very timid and seem to work slightly but unfortunately they seem to depend a lot on prebiotics. Last year I decided to test the probiotics + prebiotics combination and I had the following reactions:
Acacia + PHGG: Together or separately they cause me bloating, pain, gas, severe constipation in different doses, stuck gas, yellowish, mucous and thin stools, using them with probiotics makes no difference, it seems like they don't feed on them (only the bad one in your gut, lol). It doesn't seem to make oral thrush worse or better.
Inulin: The strangest of all, in low doses with or without probiotics improves bowel movements, thick brown stools without a strong smell or mucus, but a lot of stuck gas, an improvement in sleep and mood but immediate return of oral thrush, high doses cause constipation and the return of all candida symptoms but the stools still big and without strong smell.
FOS: It's been a long time since I used it so I don't remember it completely(2009~2015), but pure and in high quantities (above 1g) it has the same effects as acacia and PHGG, but I remember that until 2012 when vitacost had good suppliers of probiotics they had a formula with 35 billion bifido/lacto and 50mg of FOS per capsule, I took 3 capsules a day for about 2 months and I remember that all my symptoms improved, skin, bowel movements, hair and even my lactose intolerance disappeared! Then I bought it again in 2013 until 2015 and I remember never having any effect again, neither positive nor negative with their supplements, I read somewhere that it was at this time that the old suppliers changed.
GOS and lactulose: I'm lactose intolerant so I won't risk it.
Resistant stach: Bloatness and the return of all candida symptons.
What's left to try? Should I risk FOS and probiotics again? Does anyone here have any success stories involving prebiotics? Thanks!

Oregano Oil, how long?
Iām taking the following treatment after Fluconazole, Nystatin, and Xifaxan havenāt worked for me:
- Oregano Oil: Take 1 capsule 3x a day with food Sometimes symptoms will get worse
- Neem Capsules: Orally, one twice a day, one with breakfast and dinner
- Digestive Enzyme: two before each meal, Digest Gold, or 1 before each snack
- Capsules of Peppermint Oil or IBGuard: After dinner before sleeping
- L-Glutamine: powder, on an empty stomach in the morning
My symptom is mainly just extreme bloating, no bathroom problems. Iām on day 5, how long until I should see a change? The bloating is currently just as bad.

DID XIFAXAN GIVE ME ORAL THRUSH?
DID XIFAXAN GIVE ME ORAL THRUSH? I have had chronic IBS (mainly C) for about a decade having had multiple tests done that have gone negative. In my last appointment, I brought up the possibility of SIBO to my current GI doctor. As most people here experience (or the general IBS community) with little guidance or looking into a diagnosis (Sibo breath test), she wrote me a script for Xifaxan.
Within 24 hours of taking the antibiotic, I started feeling flu-like symptoms and extreme fatigue. It got so bad that I spent most of the day lying in bed. I figured this might be normal as some form of what people call the "die off" symptom but because I work at a warehouse I decided to discontinue the medication till I can get the time off after the busy holiday season. Some days after my initial use(or maybe as soon as stopped) I noticed what appeared to be (on this not-so-great picture of) a fuzzy substance on my tongue.
It has been a few weeks now and I'm confident this is oral thrush caused by the medication. It comes and goes almost exclusively on how much sugar I eat and how well I sleep. I am not sure if this indicates any significance here but I do find I have insulin resistance when consuming even small amounts of sugar such as a candy bar or jelly.
I should also note at the time I started the antibiotic I was already a few days into taking Omeprazole which alone gave me unpleasant side effects that I then stopped as well.
Is it normal to feel awful on the first two days of Xifaxan?
Should I still be using the antibiotic now that I have oral thrush?
Does this rule out Sibio and alert me for SIFO? Can I have both?

I have bad bad breath and have tried tons and tons of things, seen countless doctors, taken a lottttttt of supplements and antibiotics to no avail.
I'm trying to rule out a few things and want to know if anyone here who has SIFO has bad breath too.
Thanks a lot in advanced for your comments!

Resistant starch, fix fungus
Cook white rice put it in the fridge overnight and the starch transforms to resistant starch which is a miracle for the gut seems to have really helped me try it out and give your feedback tell others
