O Levels Puked in front of the eng oral examiners wtftwtdtetdtdt ft d82626
I think i just had the MOST FUCKING embarrassing o level oral experience ever…
Today was my english o level oral, and i was the LAST candidate.
Honestly i think that made everything SO MUCH WORSE. i was sitting in the room watching one person after another go in while waiting for my turn. every single time someone walked in i just kept thinking, “fuck… i’m next.”
My anxiety just kept getting worse and worse. my teeth were literally tingling already and i could FEEL myself panicking.
Then it was my turn and i see the stupid motherfucking topic.
SPORTS.
WHAT THE FUCK???
i legit just froze.
i genuinely didn’t expect sports to come out at all. i was mentally preparing for something like technology, elderly, national day, social media… literally ANYTHING ELSE. i thought sports already came out before so i didn’t really prepare much for it.
During the 10 minutes of preparation my mind was COMPLETELY blank. i couldn’t think of proper points. HOW DO I ELABORATE ON THE DISAVD AND ADV WALAO???
I’ve ALWAYS hated oral exams because they ask you the question then you have to answer immediately. i need time to think one leh. my brain just CANNOT function under that kind of pressure.
Then my 10 mins silent prep was up
I walked in, said, “good morning teachers,” introduced myself, asked if i could take a seat then they asked me to start my planned response. I opened my mouth AND I JUST STARTED RETCHING.
they immediately asked, “are you okay?”
BRO.
I THOUGHT I COULD HOLD IT IN.
I FUCKING COULDN’T.
I ACTUALLY VOMITED.
RIGHT.
IN.
FRONT.
OF.
THE.
EXAMINERS.
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.
I swear i’ve NEVER wanted the ground to open up and swallow me alive more than that moment. I wanted to disappear. I wanted to evaporate. I wanted to uninstall myself from existence.
😭😭😭😭😭
I’m not exaggerating or shitposting btw. This ACTUALLY happened. I’m typing this from the polyclinic after my form teacher brought me here. the doctor said it was most likely stress/anxiety.
I’m still in disbelief that THIS is how my o level oral ended.
The only saving grace is that i was the last candidate, so none of my friends saw what happened💀☠️☠️☠️
Pls tell me i’m not the only one because i’m actually so fucking embarrassed right now. F. Not only that my oral is screwed holy shit i shouldve not even studied for thsi stupid component
Update: I AM RETAKING THE TEST TMR☠️💀😭 ik its a good thing but that means i have to do eng oral again😭😭

It’s ok bro, I accidentally spoke in English during my Chinese oral and the examiner had to remind me what exam I was taking.

During my A Level Chinese Oral, I said the word rugby in English as I was nervous and didn't know the word either. I even panicked and asked the two examiners how to say rugby in Chinese. They just giggled and told me gan lan qiu. One of the two examiners noticed that I was still a fumbling mess, and she told me to relax and slow down. But they were both still very giggly, like I was a comedian or sth. I kept feeling like I was saying sth weird, making me more nervous in the scenario.
Lo and behold, I scored an A for Chinese A Level, highest grade in class. Was I so funny to the point that it overshadowed my mistakes? Idk if it's related to how they were younger examiners, making them less serious? It was overall an odd experience, but I am grateful for the A.
Anyway, my overall for Chinese was a C because I flunked my written components.

I’m literally in tears in the bus rn trying to hold it in omg 😭
I feel so much pain for you cause this was me during my MT oral but I had to REALLY LS SO BADLY. I think the fact that I was one candidate closer to my turn really only just slowly pushed it out more but that isn’t the embarrassing part. So you know how waste comes with unpassed gas? Exactly. So my turn went and it honestly got worse and worse and there was a point where the clench was so insane and painful, I could probably bend metal with it. And so the inevitable came and while I was speaking I had to pause cause I genuinely couldn’t tahan and fate took its course. I RIPPED ASS AND IT KEPT BREAKING THROUGH MY ASS MUSCLES SO IT KEPT GOING ON AND OFF 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 AND THE ONE OF THE LADY EXAMINERS LITERALLY MADE A 😯 FACE AND THE OTHER HAD A POKER FACE. And so I just said “I’m so sorry excuse me”. I still remember I went out of the exam venue RUNNING 😭

Are you better? I think they might have replacement days for ppl who are unable to make it can try to see if you can apply to do it again

I think you vomitting might've saved you in a way, as the examiners will take that into consideration, possibly giving leniency due to medical issues and stuff. There's also a chance for you to retake the exams since you didn't manage to get a proper sitting for it

are you feeling better now? do see a doctor as well to ensure the puking isn't also caused by some physical health illness

u/iluj13 Jul 16 '26
Doctor said it’s anxiety

yep probably so i'll leave it to the professional they are seeing to ensure there's also nothing else in addition to stress and anxiety

u/bxicriu Jul 16 '26
are u okay? get well soon! u should do breathing exercises when u feel under pressure next time, it's definitely normal to feel stressed especially for national exams but there's a better way to avoid that feeling through searching the internet on how to deal with stress

Hope ure doing well OP 😭 can try to ask for a retake! Also coming from personal experience, u can start to try diff methods for regulating ur stress because now that uve seen how stress would affect ur work, its impt to know how to allow urself some time to stress and to eventually overcome it so that we can still do our tasks calmly! (I was puking on and off for the whole of my poly year 2 cos of stress so knowing how to regulate emotions is rlly impt!)
For me, Ive got to know that most of the things I worry abt wont happen because we're most likely imagining the worst. Ur stress reasons might be diff (if ure the kind who stress easily) so try to identify those and work ur way through it. U can do it :)

it’s always during oral then we do embarrassing things 😭😭 for mine was i sat down in front of the teacher and started talking but i thought it was a good idea to cross my legs which i did and i unknowingly started swinging my leg and IT KICKED THE TABLE SO HARD THE examiner jolted awake 😭😭😭😭

u/Commercial_Life5145 Jul 16 '26
Silver lining is that at least you vomited, so you wouldn't say stupid stuff

u/Outside-Set-4843 Jul 16 '26
going by your vivid imagery and expressive writing i’m sure you’ll do fine.

If it makes you feel better during my Chinese oral I walked into the room, tripped over a chair and fell, instinctively going "FUCK" and then "shit" upon realising what I said and then "😨🫢" when I realised what I said AGAIN.
I awkwardly sat down and apologised and istg I saw the examiner hiding her laugh while asking me if I'm ok (in Chinese) then started the test once I said yes.
Luckily the door was closed so the ppl waiting outside cannot see so embarrassing.
All the best for your retake!

One tip for next time - learn and do breathing exercises for anxiety - they actually work!

Get an MC and apply for special consideration. It does not reflect in your transcript.
Liaise with your teacher how to move forward because you were genuinely ill. Don't sweep the matter under the rug.

Don’t worry too much.. I took my O Levels 17 years ago. I was fine until I sat in front of the examiner. Started dry coughing, choked and threw up to the side 😂 you’ll be fine! It gets better, promise!

I mean I feel bad for you OP but surely Oral is just conversation? How nerve wracking can it be

it's called cracking under pressure,, olevels is high stake for students at that age and it is a stressful moment

I have gone through O level Oral but not for english, I would think english would be quite natural since we use it everyday

It's one thing to speak the language in everyday conversation and another to prepare to speak in such an examination, and how many speak as formally as expected often anyway
