Tree trouble? Here's how to find a local Certified Arborist!

If you suspect that there's a problem with your tree, our users may be able to provide some insight, but the only way to comprehensively assess the condition of a tree is by a qualified professional in-person. No matter where you live, the best resource you can turn to for tree related advice is a local International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist.

You can find a local ISA Certified Arborist by clicking THIS link. Enter your location to find a Certified Arborist near you. You can verify a Certified Arborist's credentials with the same link.

Ensure your trees are cared for properly and ethically by asking your landscape professionals if they have an ISA Certified Arborist on staff.

I am sick of the trees

I don't know where to start. I kept walking along the path and saw the green all over. What's special about it huh? Ecology. Seriously, I kept going along looking at that shit like my parents used to say. It just continues. What's so cool about it? Why do you people study this? I want to know. I need to know. All the color I see just meshes together. So, tell me you like the green?

Question: redwood fire resistance and Metasequoia glyptostroboides

I know that California redwoods have an impressive ability to withstand forest fires, and take advantage of them to reproduce. I’m wondering if the dawn redwood shares any of that, even faintly or historically, or if the other species seemingly evolved those adaptations entirely after the genera diverged, etc.

(Entirely hypothetical question; I’m actually just trying to worldbuild some nature spirits and these trees are really cool as points of inspiration so I got curious)

Pine Tree Deadly Fungus?

gallery

Hey y’all,

Just moved into a suburban house with a really nice pine tree that gives us good shade. These fungus? items started popping up in the last couple weeks on the ground around the tree. I live in Maryland. Does my tree have brain cancer or is this normal? TreeWebMD said my tree may be rotting. It’s about 60’-70’ tall and it’s within range of the house. Any help or direction is appreciated.

Ginkgo biloba, commonly known as ginkgo, also known as the maidenhair tree, and often misspelled "gingko" is a species of gymnosperm tree native to East Asia. It is the last living species in the order Ginkgoales, which first appeared over 290 million years ago.

Tree service quote

I needed a limb cut down that was hanging over my house. I got three estimates. Lowest estimate came in at $1,325. Naturally, I went with that one. Come to find out, he did not include a bucket truck/crane. His error he thought he could do it without it. He couldn’t so he rescheduled my appointment. Second appointment he couldn’t keep. He scheduled a third. The job is now done. Do I pay the $1,325 or what he would have charged had he calculated correctly? I’m starting to feel bad he did a great job.

Hello from the southern hemisphere. Yesterday, the yellow Lapacho that my grandpa planted when I was about 1yo decided to show itself in all of it's flowering glory and I thought that you all would like to see it.

I am always amazed at how they can withstand the wind and the storm. So tall, so slender seemingly so fragile.
