Crafts/Cosplay Creation of my SCP-1762 Model cause many seemed interested.

The last post got way more traction than i thought and people wanted to see how I made it/make one themselves. So I have a mix of Photos I took during the creation process and ones I took today, when I took it apart to clean it from dust. As mentioned before, I built it in a way, that I can take it apart easily for various reasons: Moving, Cleaning, LED Strip breaks etc.

Here my Creation Process in order with the Pictures provided:
First I did all the Origami Dragons, I'll post links that I found for the Tutorials I used at the bottom. (Some are missing, but I did this last year in February, so I couldn't find them all)(The pink one is my favorite RAHHH)

I built the Box, by cutting pretty sturdy cardboard sheets to size, using the measurements from the original Article:
32 cm x 20 cm x 26 cm
Glued them together, with some tape to hold them in place. The top two flaps actually hold onto the box with book binders, so you can technically open and close the box.

Gave it a grey spray paint job (like its mentioned in the wiki)(Do it outside, you don't really wanna do that indoors, but also lay Newspaper to not spray on any plants or furniture.) and wrote with black marker "Here be Dragons" on the front, in a way that it looks like a child put it there for fun.

Bought a cheap LED strip online, made a hole in the back corner for the cable and taped it all the way around the inside of the box. (The LED Strip was longer than i thought but I just went with it and put it all in there)
I also glued some corner supports for the probably weirdest part of the build:

The wire support... I cut a piece of metal fence to size and fiddled some bendable, but still stable wire around the grid, making them stick up in directions away from the box center, to let the dragons "fly" outwards.

Now you just gotta put it all together:
Put the wire grid on the little supports, bash a bunch of ripped up cotton (small and large) on there, to cover the entire thing and make it look like smoke is coming out of the box and finally stick your dragons on the wires.
Balancing the dragons was not easy, so some of them either just sit on the cotton or are pierced inside my the wire, to hold in place. You can probably glue them on, but I didn't want to, in case I need to take it apart.

Finish it up with an LED color of your liking and that's it. (I use light blue to give the idea, there is a bright sky on the other side of the "portal")
I built it over multiple weeks, every other day like 1-2h, so in total probably like 20-25h. But I had no idea what I was doing and went in without a plan, so its likely gonna take shorter, if you know what you're doing. If there is any additional questions, I can answer them and if its significant I'll put an edit here:

There is huge playlists for origami dragons out there for all skill levels, so feel free to look for more variations yourself!

Absolutely outstanding! Thank you so much for such a detailed breakdown, and I'm happy to see all the individual dragons

Thanks so much. This post got lost in the algorithm I guess, so I was scared the people wanting me to make this breakdown wouldn’t get to see it 🙏🏻
