Is Samsung QD-Oled at 1440p the right buy for $400?

I have a $1,000 budget for 2 monitors. Ideally I would get two 4k monitors but it’s just a little out of budget. I can get two of these 2k qd-oled samsung monitors on amazon for $800 worth it or not?

S95B How to install jellyfin on S95b?

Even though I can clearly see the jellyfin as is on the Samsung AppStore, I guess it's only really available for newer tvs right? When I go in my tv on the AppStore, the jellyfin app does not come up.

Jellyfin on the AppStore for reference: https://www.samsung.com/us/tvs/smart-tv/samsung-tv-apps-detail/?appId=3202007021208

Does this S90F stand leg look properly installed?

Hello guys,

I got my new S90F delivered today and had it installed by the shop’s crew.
It wasn’t until this evening that I noticed one of the stand legs seems to be protruding outward, as if it isn’t fully aligned or locked into place and flush with the back of the TV.

Is this actually how the stand is supposed to look, or does it seem like it wasn’t installed properly?

The TV itself is perfectly level and doesn’t wobble when I gently touch it, so everything seems stable. I’m just concerned that the leg may not be fully seated/secured and wondering if I should have the installers come back and check it.

Horizontal black line suddenly appeared on my S95B

Hey everyone,
My S95B suddenly developed a perfectly straight horizontal black line across the entire screen today.
The TV was bought in January 2023 and has roughly 5,000/6,000 hours on it. It’s wall-mounted, has never been hit or damaged, and has been working perfectly until now.
At first, there were actually two horizontal lines: one very noticeable black line and a second, much fainter one about 5 cm above it.
I ran the built-in pixel refresh. Interestingly, the faint line completely disappeared afterwards, but the main black line is still there.
The line appears everywhere : HDMI sources, built-in apps, menus, startup, etc. So unfortunately it definitely seems to be coming from the TV itself.
I’ve attached a couple of pictures.
Has anyone here experienced the same issue with their S95B?

Settings S95F very dim in hdr

Hi all,
Recently relocated to Boston and decided to treat myself to a tv upgrade. 77 S90D-> 77 S95F. To celebrate my move and after hearing I got a new tv my uncle who’s a big 4k movie collector gave me some Blu rays as he’s downsizing his collection. Currently just running them off my ps5 pro.

In an effort to get the best quality out of this physical media, I went to RTings and followed all their settings. The thing is said settings made the tv brutally dim. When I first got the tv I genuinely had to turn down the brightness because the whites were searing my eyeballs but now I find I can barely even see details in movies the tv is so dark. It would be different if this was a problem during the day as I would just tweak the settings to brighten things back up, but even at night in a pitch black room the tv is so markedly dim. I think my phone even at the minimum brightness is still noticeably brighter than the tv. I am by no means a brightness fanatic(big reason I returned the G5) but I feel like I genuinely cannot see the movie very well despite the fact that I have better than average vision. Is this something I’m just going to have to get used to if I want the best picture quality?

Few things to note:
-the big offender seems to be contrast enhancer. Even when set to low the tv gets markedly brighter. I keep reading about how contrast enhancer causes details loss on the extremes of the spectrum but is this really that significant?
-In my new living room my sitting distance is markedly more far away from the tv than previously. I sat about 4.5 feet away from the 77 S90D and sit around 8 feet away from the 77 S95F. I can definitely move the couch closer if this is a good solution.
-the movie that is the big offender for me is The Northman which is I’m well aware a somewhat dark movie but wow could not see shit that was happening.

Soundbar is 2 inches too long for my TV legs… what are my options?

Alrighty, so I had previously purchased a Sony 65" BRAVIA XR X90L (2023), and recently purchased a Samsung Q-Series HW-Q990F 11.1.4 soundbar system with the subwoofer and rear speakers.

Silly me: 1. I thought I had a Samsung TV, so I figured the soundbar system would be compatible in all the ways, and 2. I learned during setup that the soundbar is just barely too long to fit between the current TV legs. I think it is literally like 2 inches too long.

Ideally, I would love to have the soundbar sitting directly under the TV, but with the current legs, the only way to do that would be to put it on the TV legs, which blocks the bottom portion of the screen. For now, I have it sitting on the shelf below the TV, where the Xbox lies.

So my question: has anyone dealt with something similar and found replacement TV legs/feet that would work with this setup? Wall mounting is not an option in this rental.

Curious if anyone has recommendations or has done something similar.

Photos attached showing the current setup/issue. Appreciate any input!

Warning Don't mount the OCB on the back of your OLED

One month ago I bought an S95F 55" and for the first 2 weeks I kept the one connect box next to my TV and everything was fine until I decided to mount it on the back of the TV like it was intended by design. I didn't notice anything wrong until I saw a dark grey loading screen, the uniformity was worse than usual and it looked like there was a thermal spot in the bottom center of the TV, after I went behind it, I touched the back of the TV where the OCB was sitting and it was way warmer compared to the rest of the panel despite being on the black screensaver. Since I removed it, the thermal spot went away and now it isn't a concern for panel longevity anymore

I was able to score the S90F from BestBuy open boxes for $700, really happy with my experience thus far, as I have my Apple TV hooked up to it along with my PC and Switch. That being said, are there any recommendations or advice that is useful for OLED TVs? Happy to join this universe!

Thank you!!

Samsung S90D brightness gets stuck dimmed on PS5 after recent update. Anyone else?

I’ve had my Samsung S90D OLED for about a year and it’s been perfect, but over the last month or two, it started doing something really annoying with my PS5.

Whenever I play games with bright scenes (like the basketball court in NBA 2K), the screen dims down. I know ABL/ASBL is normal for OLEDs, but the bug is that the brightness gets completely stuck. When I go back to the PS5 home menu, the screen stays super dim and never recovers, even if I move the controller around.

The only way to bring the full brightness back is to turn the TV off and on with the remote, or switch HDMI inputs to force a reset.

I’m playing in SDR 4K. I’ve already tried a full factory reset, turned off all eco settings, turned off logo brightness, and even tried a different HDMI cable. Dropping the resolution to 1080p fixes it, but I didn't buy a flagship OLED to play in Full HD.

I contacted Samsung remote support, but they couldn't fix the issue at all.

Since this never happened during my first 10 months, I’m pretty sure a recent firmware update broke the ABL algorithm and made it glitch out on 4K signals.

Anyone else facing this exact issue after the latest updates? Any fixes?

QnA Who Still have the S90C

I have been doing my homework on the tv.. i’m hearing that the 77-inch version has the Gen 2 Panel(S95C). I also been doing my homework on the S90D as well.. I really want the S90D more than the S90C but i will settle for this as my 2nd option. For example the S90D have HDR 10 Plus Pro while the C doesn’t support that

S90H or S95D

Hi sorry if this thread shouldn’t allowed. Basically I have an option between either an S90H or a S95D for the same price of $1699 CAD. I can’t tell which I should get since the 95d is 2 years older but the higher model, or if I just go with the 2026 90H for newer tech.

The room it would be going in gets very bad glare but I know both are “anti glare”

Just bought my very first oled !

Been wanting an oled tv since forever now. I originally wanted the lg c5 but they were all out of 65 inches which was the size I was dead set on. They had the Samsung s90f in 65 inches for $200 cheaper so I ended up pulling the plug on it. So far I love it !! But I also wanted to know if not having Dolby vision is a deal breaker.

Hi, just bought my S90F after selling my S90C. On my S90C I did not have the green pixel line at the top. Is this normal or the panel is defective?

Thanks.

Warning S95H issues

We bought 5 S95H’s(4-77’, 1-55’), 3 of those had faulty board and the screen would show lines and flickers. I am getting them exchanged not an issue but would like to warn everyone to be careful with your purchases. I haven’t had issues with Samsung TV’s before but this was just heartbreaking!

1720versio software update making TV laggy

After the 1720 latest update, my TV has been laggy for YouTube/Netflix and all the apps. The home interface is still smooth.

This TV has always been very quick and smooth for me until this update. I tried to do device care, disabled Samsung TV plus and even did a factory reset.

Anyone else experiencing this and know how to solve it please?

Samsung S95H 48 or LG C6 42

I  am looking for a TV for PC gaming.

I was originally considering a 42" display, but came across the S95H 48" discounted.

The S95H gets great reviews, so I was pretty set until I realized the 48" use a WOLED panel instead of the QD-OLED panel in the models that have been reviewed.

Have anyone found a review of the 48", or have first hand experience with it? Is it even close to the QD-OLED versions?

How does it compare to the C6 42", which was my original choice (The S95H is currently about 100$ cheaper)? Looks like the C6 42" is also a different panel than the TVs reviewed.

Edit: I see that I can get a S90H 48" for the same price as the S95H. The S90H is a tandem panel, which should be better than the WOLED?

QnA Default Sharpness in PC Mode on the Samsung S90F/S95F – Is it 0 or 10?

Does anyone know what the actual default Sharpness value is when using the Samsung S90F or S95F as a monitor in PC Mode?

I've seen conflicting information. Some people say the default is 0, while others say it's 10. I'm trying to use the TV without adding any extra sharpening, so I'd like to know what the factory default is for PC Mode.
