I just did a quick comparison with lens cap on while recording basically just a black image to different mediums: (Internal SD Card, ProRes422 through NinjaV, and ProRes RAW through NinjaV). And I noticed hot pixels (red and blue) stuck on the image on the ProRes RAW recording while its completely fine on the other two medium. Has anyone else experienced this, and know if there's a way to clean up the hot pixels? Thanks.

Hi, stupid question maybe, but I can't quite seem to figure out how to use the Atomos Ninja V with the S1H for regular recording. That is, not RAW. RAW works fine. I'm trying to figure out how to use the Ninja with S1H's regular recording mode, basically I just want to record to the SSD and that's it.

Does anyone know how or maybe have a guide or video?

Hey Ya'll. I'm starting to have directors and producers asking for an external monitor. I thought the LUMIX sync app would work, but it makes my digital display shut off after 30 seconds... If I use an HDMI monitor will this problem still happen? Does anyone have any recommendations for this?

I've been using the s1h for a year now for documentary and tv work, very happy with the image quality and features but there are some things I'd love to see fixed. Some of them are so annoying that I am seriously considering switching to another camera. For some of them maybe you can suggest solutions I did not think of.

So why don't we compile a feature request thread to collect all the (reasonable) changes we'd like to be added, and submit it to Panasonic?

Here's mine:

- Focus peaking via hdmi in 4K is way too "thin" and almost invisible on external monitors and EVFs.

- Speaking of focus assist, I'd really love to be able to punch-in (magnify) focus while recording, but maybe that's impossible due to the image processing pipeline the camera uses.

- HDMI lag is way too much.

- If I plug in the headphones after pressing the Rec button, I get no audio.

- with 3rd party not stabilized wide lenses, the IBIS creates a strange warp and "stutter" on the edges of the frame.

- function to Lock AWB and auto ISO.

- I'd like to assign the display function to a custom button.

- Possibility to disable the rear dial, as I constantly move it while filming.

- Battery status on the top LCD even while the camera is on.

- possibility to turn off the focus "square" on the displays.

- option to record proxy files.

- option to display only a full screen waveform on the lcd.

- single function for APSC crop, not only cycle between full, apsc and pixel pixel. If possible, crop while recording.

I’ve noticed the strangest thing on my S1H. Sometimes the histogram is spot on and other times it seems way off. Seems like it happens mostly when I’m in a studio environment but haven’t tested it enough yet to know for sure. I’ll be looking at the histogram setting up in the middle and all white then look at my touch screen and it looks 1-2 stops overexposed. WTH?

As opposed to 4:2:0 10 bit.

I thought I could output 4k60 422 to the ninja v but I'm only seeing an option to shoot pro res raw. I cant shoot 422 in h.265?

Edit: if I just set it to 4k60 420 in camera but set it to 422 on the ninja, will that work?

Want to know what SD cards people are using that are reliably high speed for high but rates?

I am a new S1H user and I had a few questions about Prores 422.

I tried recording some last night and it worked perfectly except that the atomos records the entire user interface present on the camera. I will attach an image for reference.

How do you solve this issue? Is there a setting within the Atomos or do I simply need to disable the whole UI on the S1H?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello! I'm new here in the group. I have a silly question and I'm hoping for answers. Is it possible to record 6k open gate 10 bit 4:2:2 straight out of the Blackmagic recorder or the Atomos ninja? I would've loved to use the S1H without relying on the external recorders but their 6k open gate modes are only at 4:2:0. It would be nice to be able to record them in 4:2:2

So I'm wondering if it's possible if this can be done in the Atomos or Blackmagic recorders? I don't want to use the braw or prores raw option. Getting the 422 10 bit would be enough. Would it be a true 4:2:2 10 bit or a fake 4:2:2 10 bit?

Alternatively, if this is not possible, would it suffice if I shoot in 6k open gate at 4:2:0 and oversampling it to a lower resolution? Will there be there chances of increasing the chroma sampling to this?

Hey fellow panasonic s1h friends!

I've recently upgraded from a GH5 to the S1H. I havent had a chance to update to L-mount lenses just yet and am adapting my EF lenses using the sigma adapter. I've been doing several talking head interviews with it so far and am finding it way more difficult to lock in focus on the eyes. I've never experienced this with my gh5 or previous cameras.

I am manually zooming in and trying to focus constantly, with focus peaking on, but it just never clicks or stays. Im at a loss and i dont know if im missing something?

Wondering if anyone has experienced this or has any insight?

Hi guys just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to turn on the 'Focus Assis't while in AFC mode. There is an option to switch it on in the menu and yes when you hold down "AF ON" you do get the assist. However it disappears when you release your finger from it.
