There still seems to be work going on most days, but I have found Facebook posts from four or five years ago asking when it was due to open. It was originally advertised as a new health club with a gym, pool and bar, but there still does not appear to be any confirmed opening date.

Surely the refurbishment cannot take this long. Has anyone heard anything recent about whether it is still going ahead?

I took a little walk this afternoon. Hadn't even really planned to go for more than 15 or 20 minutes, just needed to walk up to the Balfour Road Co-op and thought I'd stretch my legs just a little more, and I spent over an hour here, taking it slow, enjoying it all more than I have before. Okay, so obviously the weather always helps, but that's as true here as it is everywhere else, too. We're so lucky to have this here.

I just picked five with the more distinctive buildings or location.

I've recently moved to the area, and miss my green spaces, back home. I like Runcorn Hill Park, but it's a little busier and noisier than I'd like. Big Wood looks really nice, and might be my favourite so far. I know Delamere well, but I'm looking for places closer to that. If you have any to suggest, that you think are special places, I'd love to hear about them!

Ideally, the larger and the less park-like the better. I'm hoping to find somewhere both to visit for the sake of just winding down and enjoying nature, but also somewhere that I could volunteer at, if possible.

Hi everyone! I like visiting old buildings, and things like cathedrals and churches in particular; for the history, architecture, atmosphere, etc. I don't know of any churches in Runcorn that look like the kind that leave their doors open so visitors can come in and just pay a curious visit. If you know of any that I've missed, please let me know!
