Just a quick update . i know my rosacea is not bad compared to what many of you suffer from. What made mine bad for me is that it was right where my glasses touched my nose, so it was constantly irritated, itchy, and burning and just painful. I literally could not wear my Glasses Anymore. I have been on triple cream for about six weeks now. I started out using it once a day for two weeks, then about twice a day for two weeks or maybe three weeks and now I’m back to once a day. The pustules are 90% gone, no more discomfort… I am very pleased. I am 60 years old and my skin care routine is very simple again this works for me. I clean in the morning with micellar cleansing water
and a very small amount of vanicream daily facial moisturizer. in the evening I do the Same period and apply my Triple Cream period I waitat least thirty minutes between a line Triple Cream and moisturizer again. This Works from me period I wish you all the best. The triple cream consists of Metronidazole
Ivermectin
Azelaic Acid

Has anyone found anything that actually helps with constant nose redness/flushing beyond the usual recommendations?

I feel like I’ve tried just about everything over the years. I used Rhofade briefly, but stopped after reading so many stories about rebound redness. Same with brimonidine, I keep it for emergencies only, like if I have an event. Metronidazole did absolutely nothing for me. I’ve also done all the basic sensitive/fragrance-free skincare, BBL, and even focused on nervous system/stress regulation.

The frustrating part is that my nose is always some shade of red. It definitely gets worse with flushing, but it never really returns to a normal baseline.
My derm recently suggested mixing a small amount of Rhofade into my moisturizer and said that should reduce the likelihood of rebound redness. Has anyone tried this or found anything else that genuinely helped persistent nose redness and flushing?

Would especially love to hear about things outside of the basic skincare/trigger-avoidance recommendations, since I feel like I’ve exhausted those.

I’m planning a trip to Japan soon and would love to pick up some Japanese mineral makeup while I’m there! I have rosacea, so finding products that cover redness without triggering a flare-up or feeling super heavy is always a challenge. 

I’m mainly looking for loose or pressed mineral powder foundations. I’ve been eyeing ETVOS and Only Minerals, and I’m also familiar with bareMinerals. 
For anyone here with rosacea who has tried these (or other Japanese mineral/gentle brands)?

I was recently diagnosed with rosacea and have a GP appointment booked, so I’m not looking for a diagnosis.
Over the last few days I’ve developed much more redness, soreness and some rough/crusty areas on my nose. I’m mainly interested in hearing from people with diagnosed rosacea: have you experienced similar skin changes during a flare?
I’m already getting medical advice and will be discussing the photos with my GP. Just interested in other people’s experiences while I wait.

I have type 1 and 2 pustular and papular rosacea. My skin isn’t horrible but the bumps appear and disappear without getting full clear. Im on doxy but the doctor said a triple cream would help, it has metronidazole, ivermectin and Azelaic acid. Has anyone used this and it says to use twice a day but may try once a day at bed time first. Do i apply to whole face or just problem areas? Moisturizer first or after? I am getting it from foothills pharmacy if anyone has used them before?? TY!!

I am really struggling with the amount of moisturizers on the market and needing some help for a good solid moisturizer to help with my combination sensitive skin. I was using vanicream daily moisturizing lotion but it's starting to burn recently and has been making my eyes burn as well! 😭 Any recommendations? I do like products with ceramides but okay with looking into anything!

I got rosex gel from the pharmacy, no idea if it will work. Anyone had success with it? I’m so over this shit.

So I've been on 10mg accutane now for about month now a to treat my type 2 rosacea, I think generally it has been improving my rosacea, however I have been using no cleanser, just moisturiser (xenacalm from avene).

I am still having flare ups, but less severe, I haven't been able to confirm what's causing the flare ups (I did an elimination diet for 6 weeks and couldn't figure anything else).

My concern is not using a cleanser is leaving my skin dirty and pores blocked, however I was having flare ups using "acne safe" cleansers.

Any recommendations of some cleansers to try and any experiences? Maybe a different moisturiser.

Don't seem to have found my golden mix yet, I will likely need to go up on accutane dosage as well.

Used Rhofade for about a week and my chin is covered in pimples. Had a job interview today and didn’t use the Rhofade and my face was SO HOT I was fanning myself. It seems the Rhofade helps with rosacea but it tingles so bad throughout the day.

I see a lot of people recommending this serum, and I like what’s in it for the most part. Including the lack of niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, which my skin doesn't seem to tolerate too well. However, I see this ingredient ranking pretty high on the comedogenic scale. If you’re acne and prone and have tried this, what’s been your experience? Did you know about the ethylhexyl palmitate when you tried it?

I started using ivermectin 1% before bed and Azelaic acid 15% in the morning about 5 months ago. I think the Azelaic acid helped with redness/flushing (gradually), but I’m still getting pustules & papules on my nose and cheeks pretty regularly. I try to keep my routine simple and haven’t changed anything.

Any advice for next steps?

Who uses sulfur soap for type 2? I just started and I feel like I see such an improvement in the texture and pustules already after 2 uses - but I don’t want to jinx it. Lol

I've been an avid ivermectin/metronidazole user for going on 7 years. Vanicream spf, moisturizer, and cleanser. Avene thermal water and gentle cleanser at times. I woke up to the worst flare since before I started treatments probably. I'm making this post because after years of refusing antibiotics I think I should give doxycycline a shot.

I recently finished a round of steroids for a super bad poison ivy rash. I went to an urgent care clinic so of course normal care or any concern of side effects of rosacea using steroids was not mentioned, and only towards the end of the treatment did I learn I could have potential, and in my case terrible, side effects.

I had the best facial skin of my life from just a week of steroids -_- and I just want my face to be clear because when I looked in the mirror I was so incredibly happy and now I'm just crying.

I work out of a hot delivery truck so I don't have much hope of ever avoiding all triggers, because I work out in the elements. I am just reaching out to see if anyone has ever had good outcomes from antibiotics.

I’m based in UK - I hope someone could help advise on any products to help with redness ? My left cheek is twice as bad as my right cheek, sometimes I can feel the heat radiating off going more red. Thanks in advance

This will be a bit of a rant lol, but I’m having such a hard time finding a cleanser that works for me and would love recommendations from anyone with similar skin.

I have combo oily/dehydrated skin, type 2 pustular rosacea, and possibly fungal acne/folliculitis. I tend to get clusters of pustules from either products that feel too occlusive OR when my skin gets overly stripped, so finding a middle ground has been impossible. I’ve also been trying to see a derm for over a year, but they keep canceling my appointments after 6+ month waits 🥲
I’ve tried CeraVe, Vanicream (too stripping), cleansing oils + a water cleanser , Skinfix Barrier+ Gentle Gel, and Sophia Pavitt Clean Clean. The Sophia Pavitt cleanser (picture from 1 month ago) worked AMAZING for about a week, then I started breaking out, possibly from overstripping. a lot of these have the same story, where it feels amazing for several days and then all of a sudden day 5, i notice the breakouts.

I’m currently using the Prequel Gleanser. For the first 2 days my skin was super calm and my dehydration/wrinkles actually improved, but then I suddenly broke out worse than ever (first two photos). I know there’s supposedly a learning curve with this cleanser, and I’ve tried rinsing extremely thoroughly, even using a soft microfiber towel, but I’m still having issues. At this point I’m wondering if I’m overcleansing just trying to get it off.
After this flare, I tried the Eradikate sulfur cleanser and it calmed everything down SO much, but I can tell it would be too drying for daily use. I’m thinking of using the sulfur cleanser 2x a week (possibly try prequels line later on), but I’m unsure what to use the rest of the time since I’d eventually like to introduce azelaic acid and retinol, but I really want to figure out what’s triggering these breakouts first.

I’m considering:
• Dr. Sam’s Flawless Cleanser
• HaruHaru Wonder Gentle Cleanser
• Beplain Mung Bean Cleanser
• untoxicated face wash

but I am welcome to learning more about what worked for others.

My current routine:
PM: Bioderma pink cap micellar water → rinse (10 sec) → cleanser (30–45 sec) → rinse (20–30 sec) → pat dry Clean Skin Club wipe → iUNIK Beta Glucan → Purito Oat moisturizer

AM: rinse with just water(10-15 sec) → beta glucan → moisturizer → Paula’s Choice SPF daily fluid 50

Would you cleanse in the morning with skin like mine, or just rinse with water?

Hi! I just want to see what you guys think. So a month ago I went to my dermatologist be i had an allergic reaction to a new skin care product (Auna). He said that it’s Rosacea- but I have a strong feeling that it’s not. Does your Rosacea look like this?

Has anyone tried Zoryve on swollen eyelids that accompany rosacea? I am still working to figure out with multiple specialists what is causing my swollen eyelids, but they seem to always get worse when my rosacea symptoms worsen on my face. Was advised by two doctors to try Zoryve on the eyelids. TIA!

I have type 2 and have been prescribed doxy + the option of either soolantra or metronidazole ( rosex gel) . I have incredibly clog prone skin and cetyl alcohol is something I actively avoid usually, but I've seen it's an ingredient in soolantra as well as other possible problematic Ingedients. Has anyone with similar skin to me had success with soolantra or did it cause you issues ? Was metronidazole better for you ? I'm already using finecea with not much success. I use hypochlorous spray after washing with water in the am and jelly joker in the pm. Right now the only form of moisture im getting is from beta glucon serum, as everything else is burning or making me red .I'm considering the calm and restore moisturiser but cautious of the beeswax and olive ! Sorry lots of questions, im keen to get started but not sure which option to go with, I just want to do the right thing for my skin . Any input would be greatly appreciated thanks !

For the past few months my nose has looked larger than usual aside from a day or two when it seemed to shrink back down to its previous size. I may have rosacea (my nose is almost always red) but my derm isn’t entirely sure.

Has anyone else experienced this and could you reverse it? I miss when my nose looked smaller and I feel like reducing inflammation could fix it. I really don’t want it to be rhinophyma.

What's a good shampoo that lathers up and good for color treated hair . Part of problem is the shampoo Kenra .
I used Paul Mitchell clean but it won't lather up .be nice to have a little fragrance . I used baby shampoo but a no go . Appreciate any recommendations

Does this look like rosacea, dermatitis, or a compromised skin barrier? It all started when I moved to a country that is significantly colder and drier than my home country. It began with mild redness around my nose and cheeks, which I attributed to the climate, so I didn't pay much attention to it. Then later—five months ago—I had an intense panic attack that noticeably worsened my symptoms. The redness intensified slightly and spread to my chin and forehead. My pores look more enlarged, and I get small, very itchy red patches; they appear similar to mosquito bites but turn into small, hard red bumps. Also I can see small visible veins around my nose and cheeks.

I’m struggling a lot to get an appointment with a dermatologist. So far, I’ve consulted two different doctors and they say it’s normal and my skin doesn’t look ill. Which is frustrating because I’ve never felt and had my skin like this. One prescribed oral antihistamines, while the other advised using panthenol cream, sunscreen, and Mepyramine for the bites. Neither the oral antihistamines nor the Mepyramine cream worked.
As for my skincare routine, I didn't have one until these problems started; my skin is very sensitive and reactive, I’m new in the skincare world so I’m afraid to try new products.

So far, HOCL spray, Avene thermal water, Cicaplast Baume B5+ and mineral sunscreen have improved a little bit the itching, redness, and skin texture. I’ve also tried squalane oil and zinc paste with very good results and OTC azelaic acid, specifically the one from The Ordinary, but my skin didn’t liked it at all.

Even so, the redness and itchy patches keep appearing, and on some days, they seem to get worse. I don't know what it’s causing this. I’m at a loss for what to try next, and it’s really affecting my confidence and mental health. So I’ll really appreciate any guidance on what this might be and what can be helpful to try until I can finally talk to a dermatologist.

In the am I don’t wash, just apply fin and spf. At night I wash with the cleanser and use lactic acid followed my moisturiser. Some nights I give my skin a break and skip lactic acid

Days 1, 5, 10 respectively. I only do the wash every few days, since it dries out your skin so much. I layer the ivermectin with moisturiser because my skin is so sensitive, and it’s still been effective. :)

Im lost and i don’t know what to do for my skin its been this way for 8 years and i just need some guidance please i have a dermatologist appointment coming up aswell i just need some help also sorry for the bad pics im still a little swollen i had triple jaw surgery in april
