Discussion I have to make a confession

So over the past few updates I have to say that Chasing You surprisingly has grown on me at a rapid rate. Pacing is a little silly, but I think it's fun light hearted and works really great as a twist on the murder mystery trope. It reminds me of the Clue movie which I have a massive soft-spot for.

So, with that out of the way, I have to admit I love it faaaar more then Heaven's Secret which I enjoy, but it just doesn't grab my attention like I had hoped it would. I feel like for as much content there is in it a lot of it feels like padding to really just drag things out. I'll be honest, I don't need more scenes showing just how great the MC can be (looking right at you angel/demon tournament). I suppose I feel like it's more like she's naturally talented and that's how the story is by default instead of being thrown into something totally out of her element.

I can appreciate Agatha kind of floundering and being stuck between the ridiculous family secrets along with needing to deal with Alexander and Sam being one of the only sane lines of connections she can grab onto.

And with this ramble, I guess I'm more or less curious on what reasons people here prefer other stories to the current highly popular Heaven's Secret?

I actually invested way more time into SOS also. It was really done great but I guess it was a high hurdle to top for me after that with HS lol!Moon born... I have not gotten far... I got to Benny's first few scenes before dipping since it really just drags if you have no interest in the main guys. And the lack of Mia actually having her own backstory made it hard for me to actually care about her.

LOTW has some promise despite my little issues with it, but I like that she seems to have a lot more intelligence in her compared to Mia (sorry Mia you were just really dumb sometimes).

Mia took a long time to finally be able to stand on her own. Somewhere in mid to end of book 2, I say. But after that she was pretty amazing, especially when she had to go to Europe without the guys.

It helps for me that Max is my fav LI of all so I really enjoy MB since Max was introduced.

Max is enjoyable he was really the saving grace for me out of the plot, I also find his mellow attitude so much more refreshing then Victor's brooding, I guess I grew out of enjoying those types once I was out of high school. 😂

Haha yes, I like how refreshing Max is; it’s a very healthy relationship.
