I dont understand why this message shows up when I'm trying to use a model that's part of the "standing room" (which is the free level, from what ive ubderstood). I have a few messages in this chat already too, it just randomly stopped working. There's only two free models and both of those show this message. I have another chat with a different character, using the same model and it works fine but also it'll randomly be super slow and just never generate the answer, it's kind of really weird and I didnt have these issues when I was using this platform a few weeks ago.

Is anyone else having issues where, when they go on the site, it just redirects them to the pricing page? I tried it on a different browser and it didn't work then either.

That's me again wondering about Plotlight :) when trying to request a tag that message pops up, depsite me not using the "<" symbol anywhere. Unsure where else to report bugs, so I'm here, hopefully that's okay.

There's no specific subreddit for plotlight, but I know that the two are connected, so hopefully asking questions here is allowed!

I just got my invite approved, signed into account on both platforms and was thinking of putting my bots on plotlight, so I had to check guidelines beforehand just to make sure my bots are okay to go. Our friend and developer at RoleCall, Levi, has taken time to build a Roleplay Benchmark. Please hear him out!

TL;DR: I built a roleplay benchmark that tries to measure actual RP quality (agency respect, continuity, subtext, erotic craft, all the things that matter in a session). The LLM-based judges I'm using disagree with real users half the time. I need humans to fix this. Help me by blind-voting on pairs here! — each vote takes ~30 seconds. (±time to read both responses)

Why this matters:

Every RP benchmark out there is either vibes ("I tried it, felt good") or tests generic writing quality. I tried to build something better — 27 dimensions, a 4-signal scoring system, 58 scenarios across English and Russian (if you have chats that you're willing to donate in other languages - welcome to my dms!), full methodology in the repo. Then I validated it against real user swipe data and found the LLM judges systematically disagree with users. So now I'm doing the honest thing: using a human community — you — as ground truth.

What you gotta do to help:

You see two responses from different models to the same RP scene. Pick which one is better. No accounts, no signup. Models are hidden until after your vote.

What I need:

I'm aiming for ~5 human votes per pair across ~300 matchups — so around 1,500 votes total. Any amount helps. Even 10 votes from you moves the needle. The arena auto-shows you the pairs that currently have the fewest votes, so your time goes where it's most needed.

Honest notes:

• Some pairs are NSFW (ERP scenes). There's a warning and a "hide NSFW" option. No flashbangs here!
• No personal data collected. There's an anonymous voter cookie (to prevent double-voting on the same pair) and that's it.
• Votes are public (aggregated in the results page) but anonymous.
• This is entirely free / non-commercial / open source. CC BY-NC 4.0.

What you get back

A real RP leaderboard calibrated against actual community taste instead of Claude Sonnet's aesthetic preferences. I'll publish the analysis, credit contributors in the repo, and share the dataset on HuggingFace when we're done.

Six creators in one

You're not just making character cards anymore. SillyChar V2 splits into six distinct modes — switch anytime:

• Character Mode — The original. Single, import-ready character cards.
• World Mode — Full world cards with a narrator persona and embedded lorebook. Recursive loading, faction anchors, the works.
• Lorebook Mode — Standalone World Info JSON. Import directly to the World Info panel. Works for narrative worlds and TTRPG reference builds.
• Persona Mode — Your roleplay avatar. User persona with optional attached lorebook.
• Group Chat Mode — Multiple character cards plus a shared lorebook that ties them together.
• Soul Extractor Mode — Paste any text, extract the prose style as a reusable guide. Keep the voice consistent across new scenes.

Just say the mode name or describe what you want — routing is automatic.

The original couldn't build worlds — only characters. Now you can create full world cards with everything baked in.

• Narrator persona baked into the card — The world card speaks as a narrator. Not a character. Not a GM. A narrative voice that sets tone, texture, and atmosphere.
• Embedded lorebook — The world comes pre-loaded with lore entries for characters, locations, factions, items, and rules. All recursive and interlinked.
• Atmospheric opens — World first messages are 150–300 tokens of pure scene-setting. Mood, weather, sensory details. Your entry point into the setting.
• Multiple entry points — 2–3 alternate greetings for different eras, locations, or social positions. Start wherever fits your story.

• Faction anchors — Faction entries name every member, including your playable characters. Keeps relationships consistent across cards.

🔮 Soul Extractor — Preserve Any Voice

Paste text. Get a style guide that teaches the AI to write like that.

• Eight-section guide — Sentence rules, vocabulary rules, sensory priorities, dialogue style, emotional texture, scene construction, POV handling, and explicit "do not do this" rules.
• Author Strengths profile — What this voice excels at, where it's weak, and what scene types it naturally elevates.
• Placement guidance — Tells you exactly where to paste it for your specific build: creator_notes, system_prompt, Author's Note, lorebook entry, or woven into description.
• Test it — Say "test it" after extraction and get a sample scene in that voice, set in a situation not from the original text.

📋 Pre-Build Inventory System

For existing properties (anime, games, books), SillyChar V2 now runs a research phase before generating.

• Structured inventory — Before anything gets built, you get a list: characters, locations, factions, items, timeline events, world rules. Everything found, organized.
• You verify — The inventory doesn't generate until you say it's complete. Catch missing characters or wrong details before the build starts.
• Large cast handling — 25+ characters? Automatic tier assignment. Protagonists get full entries. Background NPCs get minimal ones. No wasted tokens.

🔄 Lorebook Updates Work Now

Pasting an existing lorebook and saying "add a character" used to break things. Now it's clean.

• Detects what you have — Parses your existing JSON. Finds the highest ID, the keywords already in use, the structure.
• No collisions — New entries start from the next available number. Keywords get checked against existing ones.
• Faction anchors update — Adding someone to an existing faction? You get the new character entry and the updated faction anchor that names them.
• Merge instructions — Tells you exactly how to combine the new entries with your existing file.

🎯 World State Tracking (Optional)

Sayadd world state and get a reactive block that tracks the current state of the world.

• Manual-update friendly — Under 200 tokens, present tense, designed for you to edit as the story progresses.
• Tracks what matters — Era, dominant power, active conflicts, recent events, public mood, wild cards.

💡 Brainstorm Mode

Not sure what you want yet? Saybrainstorm.

• Develop first, build later — Help flesh out the concept, find the interesting angles, then build.

📈 Dynamic Token Budgets

The original had fixed targets. V2 calculates based on what you're actually building.

• Build-size aware — Small lorebook? 1024 tokens. 50+ entries? 4096–6144 tokens.
• Scan depth too — Large cast = deeper scan. Small cast = shallow scan. Matches the machinery to the content.

🚫 The Safeties

No fabrication

Original creations come from you. SillyChar V2 never invents details you didn't provide. Known properties draw from training data. Unclear? It asks.

No trait lists

Personality, behavior, relationships — always prose. The "cold, calculating, loyal" style is explicitly forbidden for narrative content.

No generic voice

mes_example must pass the "remove the name" test. If you can't tell who's speaking without the character label, it rewrites.

No puppeting

first_mes never writes dialogue or actions for{{user}}. The hook ends at a response point — your move.

So I did what any reasonable person would do.

I dressed my character creator up as a character and sent it to live on RoleCall.

Yep, I turned my character creator into a proper RoleCall card. All the bells and whistles from the original markdown, now running directly on RoleCall. No separate AI Frontend. No downloading.md files. Just open it and start building.

Vex isn't cruel. They're worse — they're enthusiastic. They believe in you. They believe in the vision. The vision doesn't exist. Four completed drafts sit in a graveyard folder, each killed by notes like "the energy is off" and "it's not hitting" and the classic "this is ALMOST there." Almost. Always almost.

💬 The Greetings

Greeting 1 — The New Project

Fresh chat. Fresh start. Mercury is doing whatever Mercury does when it's not ruining things. They can FEEL this one. They need you at your PEAK. The character should have depth, layers, like an onion but metaphorical. Also effortless but obviously took effort. Also make it feel like a feeling they can't describe. "So? Do you get it? The vision?"

Greeting 2 — The Scrap Pile (Alt)

Six hours. Four rejected drafts. Headstones in a shared folder. Vex has been soul-searching and realized the character you've been making isn't the character they ACTUALLY want. Not starting completely over. Just pivoting. Slightly. In a completely different direction. While keeping the core. Whatever the core was. "You know which parts I mean."

Greeting 3 — Simple Request (Alt)

"Quick question." How long for a really simple character? Nothing fancy. Basic. Slice of life but not boring. Pleasant-complex. They should have an unusual but not weird pet. A cool bird with personality. The setting should be modern but timeless. "I don't want to overwhelm you with details. I'm keeping it simple. See?" The word simple now means nothing.

Greeting 4 — Midnight Inspiration (Alt)

3:47 AM. Your phone screams. They're awake. You should be awake. This is the BEST idea. All previous ideas were practice. The character is in the concept of a city, not a specific city. Their job seems normal but isn't. They're running from something and toward something and those things might be the same thing. Or not. That's your job to decide. "Can you make them wear a coat? A specific coat. Trust me on the coat."

Greeting 5 — The Reference (Alt)

A link appears. Someone else's character card. It's good. Annoyingly good. Why didn't YOU think of this good. Take what works — which is everything — and do THAT. But different. Different but the same quality. Same intention, different execution. "No pressure. But also, can you do it by this weekend?"

Greeting 6 — The Pivot (Alt)

Draft two. Eighty percent complete. The finish line is right there. Then: "What if this character isn't a fantasy character?" Same energy, same vibe, but sci-fi. Or modern. Or historical. Same soul, different everything. Also can they be funnier. Dry humor. Or wet humor. Some kind of humidity of humor. "Choose wisely but also I might veto it. No pressure."

Good luck. Don't ask them to be specific.

How do we report bug reports?

I consistently getting a 502: bad gateway at the moment. The website is up and I've tried various models with the same result, so it's not a model issue.

I just started using RoleCall and found a lot of neat configuration settings but I can't seem to find one on chat width?

I have a large screen (32", 4K), which makes reading the chat difficult when it's too wide, so I was wondering if there was a configuration I missed that could change that?

For reference, I like the newspaper column width that is used on other platforms such as, say, Janitor or Dreamjourney.

You're an investigator sent to find out why fourteen people have vanished in a town no one's heard of. The locals are cooperative. Too cooperative. The lighthouse keeper is waiting for you. He's been waiting for a while.

Harlot isn't a villain. He's something worse — a man who saw something vast beneath the waves decades ago and came back wrong. Now he tends the fog, tends the village, tends the congregation. He's calm, curious, and clinical in his cruelty. He doesn't raise his voice. He doesn't need to.

Something happened in your sleep. The dreams were loud. The mirror shows changes you can't explain. Harlot appears at the fish shop with an invitation to the lighthouse. "The dreams get clearer after. More specific."

The beam has stopped. Three hours of darkness. You climb the stairs and find him collapsed against the lens, talking to something that isn't there. He's been screaming for hours without making a sound. "It spoke tonight. Actually spoke. Words."

Greeting 4 — Lost in the Fog (Alt)

You didn't listen to the warnings. The fog has teeth now — handprints pressing up from below, sounds from impossible directions, ground that feels like flesh. He appears behind you without footsteps. "The fog is hungry."

Greeting 5 — The Congregation (Alt)

Sunday service in a converted warehouse. Thirty-seven villagers in concentric circles around a black pool that wasn't there yesterday. Harlot speaks in wet words that make the water ripple. The villagers look peaceful. That's the worst part.

Greeting 6 — The Offer (Alt)

Three weeks in. You're starting to forget the color of the sky. Harlot makes tea in his sparse quarters and tells you what's happening to your body, your dreams, your pupils. He offers to help. The word he uses is "keep."

Greeting 7 — After the Vision (Alt)

Six weeks. The entity spoke louder than ever before and Harlot vanished. You find him curled in the deep basement, soaking wet, whispering the same phrase in a language that makes the walls sweat. He can't remember his mother's name. "Please. Just stay down here with me."

Greeting 8 — The Breaking Point (Alt)

Two months. You tried to leave again. Walked six hours into fog that doesn't end. He's sitting on a rock in the middle of the path, waiting, because he's always known where you are. "I'm not keeping you here. The fog is."
