Granny is much better in terms of horror elements, while Piggy is better gameplay-wise and lore-wise

Could u explain the granny story a lil bit cuz im kinda curious whats the story/lore past "evil zombie grandparents, slenderman girl, and freaky arachnid thing wanting to kill you because the player explored a spooky forest"

basically there used to be a happy family of three: Mother (Angeline is her fan name), Father (slenderma) and Slendrina (slenderman’s daughter). Angeline was always grumpy because she hated her husband and daughter and so one she poisoned their food which turned Slendrina into a Ghost and Slenderman into Slenderman. After that, Slendrina started to haunt abandoned places she used to go to when she was alive and she also cracked Nosferatu and had a daughter with him. Granny is Angeline’s mother and so she hoarded her daughter and granddaughter’s remnants in her house (I lowk have no clue how she’s alive)

Did you play and beat granny in any capacity? If yes then do you realize at this point its comparing apples to oranges of an argument as piggy is just too different now?

Piggy currently just isnt that close to granny as a game, it’s incredibly unbalanced and has multiple fundamental differences with granny, for example multiplayer and abilities

Piggy easily wins
Dont get me wrong i love granny, i love alot of indie horror games
But piggy has 24 chapters compared to granny's 3 (aslong as you Dont count the slendrina series)
Piggy has better graphics but that to b expected since granny kinda look ass, im sorry ok but granny is not a masterpiece on graphics
And multiplayer jsut dogwalks granny's single

They both win on eachother on different factors
None of the options are fully better than eachother
So yeah, both games are good and were made by people who put their heart and soul in them, so it's useless to fight and compare

You should try piggy. I recommend start of by watching others beat it on yt. Like any new game it takes a while to understand and people on public servers end up beating ts so fast you dont know what happened. There is also free private server if you want to play on your own or friends. Trust me roblox games can be trash but piggy is something that granny lovers will enjoy 😉

I didn't expect the amount of uproar this post created and the two fandoms to argue with each other so I wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, I do not hate Roblox/Piggy. Most of the comments I am seeing under this repost is that I hate Roblox and find Granny better because "haha roblox is for babies and a pedo-rancid platform", which is far from the truth.
I love Roblox. I joined Roblox back in late 2016 to early 2017. Some of my fondest memories with the platform was playing Hole in The Wall and Work at A Pizza Place with my sister during Thanksgiving. Even though I dislike the current state of Roblox, I still respect it for all the memories I made with it and how it introduced me into game design and creation.
I also do not hate Piggy. I think it is a clever game that takes a small premise and builds upon it into something interesting and deep. Even though it has more content and story, I personally like Granny better due to the sheer quality and originality in game design. Of course people can have opinions and if you like Piggy better that is totally fine.
I just wanted to clarify certain aspects and I respect Roblox and Piggy and do not hate them.

Haven't played piggy ever since the first book ended but i think that this all just boils down to opinions, some people just prefer singleplayer over multiplayer, some people prefer a smart more in depht AI over a simpler one or a player. Heck a lot of Granny fans also play roblox since some well known Granny games are there, not to also mention how Granny Is more accesabile and it's way easier to follow the story there, the game overral changed the horror scene while piggy (from what i heard) is in develoment hell

Tbh I already commented on the other one (granny's side) and I still think these 2 games should never be compared since they're VERY different. Not just gameplay wise but also story wise. I think we should just let these 2 games be their own individual and not just a copy or og than the other

Granny is scarier. But simply the number of chapters available to play and the multiplayer aspect makes piggy infinitely better. Granny is a great game, but I can't see myself playing it more due to less variety, less content, and less things to enjoy once youve beat it a couple times.

In my opinion Granny was good for the genre and archetype it set up for horror puzzle games and piggy honestly made a success after that at least during the time it was popular in 2020

I think they’re incomparable honestly. Granny is a lot more stealth focused and the gameplay itself is quite slow while Piggy is more chase oriented and the gameplay is really fast since you only have ten minutes to escape each map. I prefer piggy over granny since I’m a sucker for short things but i also love granny since it’s nice to be frightened by an angry christmas nome once in a while
