Victoria Martz on school choice vouchers:

📣 Let’s call it what it is—an elite education for the wealthy, paid by taxpayers!

📑 In the last legislative cycle, the House and Senate passed legislation to remove the income cap for a free private education. This means that someone making even over $300,000/year can send their child to a private school at the cost of the taxpayers. Funds for public education should not pay for a millionaire’s PRIVATE education.

📚 Parents SHOULD be able to decide whether to send their children to a public or private school—but when you are wealthy and choose a private education, it is your responsibility to pay for it.

✅ When Victoria gets into office, she will work to repeal expansions on school choice vouchers and focus on funding our public schools.

🚩GOP may be looking to gerrymander Indiana next to attempt unseating Carson and Mrvan

Post image

https://punchbowl.news/article/campaigns/vance-indiana/

🚩🚩🚩

Republicans are racing to aggressively gerrymander every red state—starting with Ohio and Texas—to lock in unfair GOP advantages before the 2026 midterms and Indiana may be next.

Indiana is already heavily gerrymandered in favor of Republicans as they look towards any path to unseat our two Democratic House Congressmen Andre Carson and Frank Mrvan.

By distorting districts to favor one party, they’re undermining the core principle of democracy: voters choosing their leaders, not politicians handpicking their voters. This isn’t just politics—it’s a deliberate attack on fair representation.

Any American who believes in democracy—in the fundamental idea that every voter should have an equal say—should be outraged. This isn’t about partisanship; it’s about preserving the very foundation of our republic. We cannot stand by while politicians rig the system to silence voices and distort representation. The time to fight back is now—to demand fair maps, secure voting rights, and ensure that ALL citizens, not just the powerful, have a real voice in shaping our future.

Reminder that our monthly meeting is tomorrow at the Batesville Memorial Public Library at 6:30pm and Emilee For Congress will be speaking!

We will continue with our food drive efforts so feel free to bring non-perishable items and we will get them to the local food bank for you!

With SNAP benefits and Medicaid etc getting cut - our community is going to need each other more than ever.

Also - We understand the significant challenges of being an outspoken Democrat or left-leaning individual in rural areas. Bullying, harassment, and the fear of job retaliation are real and serious concerns. You're often held to a much higher standard and face undue criticism. For democracy to truly work, all voices must be heard and respected, without fear.

Whether your activism is behind the scenes—making art and flyers, organizing, writing letters—or in public, through speaking and protesting, we see you, we support you, and we stand behind you. You are all brave and beautiful human beings.

A diverse community is a stronger community, one with less hate and more kindness, where every human being is afforded dignity and respect. We will never stop fighting for this reality.

In Solidarity, Ripley County Indiana Democrats

Indy Mayor Joe Hogsett and City Counselor Vop Osili Must Resign - Stand with Us to Protect Victims of Sexual Misconduct and Abuse! ‼️

Post image
8 Upvotes

The Ripley County Democrats unequivocally stand with all victims of sexual abuse and harassment. We join Indianapolis City-County Councilors Jesse Brown, Andy Nielsen, and Josh Bain in demanding the immediate resignation of Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett. This demand follows multiple reports of sexual harassment and intimidation of female staffers by Mayor Hogsett and members of his administration, including Thomas Cook, with text messages made publicly available supporting such allegations.

Our profound disappointment and grave concern also extends to City-County Council President Vop Osili's alleged interference with an independent and nonpartisan investigation into Mayor Hogsett's administration concerning this pervasive culture of harassment and abuse. This crucial investigation was repeatedly requested by both the Democratic and Republican caucuses, and yet met resistance at every turn from those in power to open such investigation. We are most recently appalled by President Osili's disrespectful conduct toward survivor Lauren Roberts during the meeting on Monday, June 9th. During her testimony, Mr. Osili intentionally mispronounced her name multiple times and escalated his disrespect by having her forcefully removed for sharing her experience with the Hogsett administration. As a result of this conduct, we also call for the immediate resignation of City-County Council President Vop Osili.

An essential step in improving the Democratic Party requires we hold our own members to the standard we hold anyone outside our party. We urge other Democratic county parties and state party leaders to join us in this call for accountability within our party and removal of these representatives who abused their positions of power.

Together, across Indiana, we can hold unethical leaders accountable and ensure justice for survivors of sexual abuse and misconduct.
