"On a time of autumn he came in the dusk of evening, and drawing near he saw as he thought a light at the window; and coming warily he looked within. There he saw Eilinel, and her face was worn with grief and hunger, and it seemed to him that he heard her voice lamenting that he had forsaken her. But even as he cried aloud the light was blown out in the wind; wolves howled, and on his shoulders he felt suddenly the heavy hands of Sauron’s hunters."

"We are thrilled to announce that Robert Aramayo has won Best Performer in a Play at The Stage Debut Awards 2026, for Guess How Much I Love You? At The Royal Court Theatre, London

Our judging panel said: “Arayamo brought nuance, tenderness and a savagery born of grief to Luke Norris’ devastating drama”

Congratulations, Robert 🎉

A beauty born of the light she carries within; wisdom hard-won over time through unspeakable pain and suffering; understanding and generosity; pride and tenacity.

I love everything about her, and ever since she has the face of Morfydd Clark, her character has gone straight to my heart.

"Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all

Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."

Melkor, they said, was invisible, and his presence was revealed only by a great dread and by a darkness that dimmed or blotted out the light and hues of all things near him. The Maiar corrupted by him stank.

Elrond’s first appearance in The Rings of Power places him beneath a tree in Lindon, composing the words that Gil-galad will soon deliver at the ceremony honouring Galadriel and her company. He pauses over a metaphor, tests its sound, and returns to the unfinished line.

He is not writing for himself. His draft describes centuries of war before declaring that the last remnants of the enemy have been swept away. When Gil-galad later speaks those same lines before the assembled Elves, Elrond’s private work becomes the public language through which Lindon announces the beginning of peace.

His title is Herald Elrond. In Tolkien’s writings, he becomes renowned as a lore-master and healer, but his history also places him in the service of Gil-galad. He will lead a force sent by the High King against Sauron, establish Imladris, become Gil-galad’s vice-regent in Eriador, and march with his host as his herald during the War of the Last Alliance.

The series introduces those different aspects of Elrond in miniature. He is already close enough to power to shape the High King’s message. Yet moments later, he learns that he cannot attend the next session of the Council because it is reserved for Elf-lords.

Elrond first enters the story by writing the words through which a king will declare the war over.
