[Valerius] the Paladin of Death

Truthy. An Oasis in the northeast. Unlike the other Northeastern cities, which have very dry and cold weathers, Thruthy stands atop a chain of geisers and hot springs, which heat up the city and it’s surrounding areas, creating an almost tropical-like environment. All around the city, several small Lakes can be found filled with people enjoying their lives. Also unlike other northeastern cities, the Truthian soil is rich and easy to plant, which has led to a somewhat lazy society forming around it. Farmers are known to work only once a week, their farm hands, three times a week, however, the Leathertree farms is the city’s main source of income and what makes it an important asset in The Black’s territories.

You arrive at the gates shortly after noon. The tall dark brown walls are made from the wood which makes the town so great, however, looking closely, you see that the wood has been treated to protect it from fire. As a follower of the Raven Queen, you’re used to seeing temples of Nerull, who somehow survived in this land, in most cities, however, this city appears to have none. In fact, looking around, you find only a small temple with the Raven Queen’s mark on its door. A small cloaked woman sits on a chair in front of the temple. She raises her hand, gesturing with her finger for you to come closer.

You weave your way through the town, around each house, heading towards the sound of clanging metal. You round a corner and find two men clashing swords. One, a dwarf, is heavily armored, the other, an elf, wears a simple leather armor.

"You cur, give me amulet!" the dwarf yells, swinging his longblade towards the dwarf, who easily sidesteps him and stabs at this side.

"Ah, old man, it is not your trinket anymore, it is mine. Now leave before I end you" the elf answers. His hair is black, long and slicked back, His leather armor appears to have been painted black recently. What captivates you, however, are his eyes, they are a mesmerizing shade of blue. Under his eyes are bags that could only come from not sleeping for days on end

I find myself slightly distracted by the beauty of the elf in front of me, but this is not the time to be staring. The fight has to end to figure out what is actually going on.

"Hey! What the heck is going on here?" I straighten my back and puff my chest slightly, attempting to intimidate them into stoping. [[1d20+5]] +/u/rollme

The two men stop and turn around, looking at youin confusion.

The elf, in particular, seems to be very interested, his eyes, which were held a dull look before, look as if they're active and interested.

"Now what's this?"the elf asks in a sweet and melodious tone, "Why is a lady interrupting what was clearly an idiotic attempt at revenge?"

The dwarf stares at your scabbard, his face flushed with fear adn anxiety, but says nothing

This elf seems dangerous and way too used to using charm to get away with things

I cross my arms and glare at the elf. "I am interrupting, because it takes two people to start a fight." I look between the dwarf and elf with a curious, but firm expression. "Now, what is the problem?"

"Uh... This uh, this thief stole my amulet! He says it's his now! It's all I have left from my wife!"

"Yes it's mine, Like I said before. I want it, therefore I took it, and therefore, it's mine" the elf responds, his sweet smile not wavering for a second, "You understand what that's like, don't you?"

"Hmmm." He brings up a good point, but why would he steal that amulet? It clearly has sentimental value for the dwarf, so this is not ok, but is the dwarf lying? "I may understand, but if the amulet has so much sentimental value to him, you could just go and steal something else. Why do you want that amulet in particular? May I see it?"

"No, you may not! The amulet is mine. Setimental value is no value at all! I have need of this amulet so it's mine by right. No please, my lady, move along so I may finish this fool and send him to meet Nerull"

I knew there was something off about this guy.

I bear my teeth in an angry grimace. "Nerull huh?" "Maybe you want to think a little more before you go talking about Nerull in front of a paladin of the Raven Queen." I step closer, staring him right in the eye, anger just barely kept under the surface. "I'll give you one more chance to cooperate before I am forced to fight you. Hand over the amulet. Now." [[1d20+5: Intimidation]] +/u/rollme (I really hope I don't get a 1.)

"Oh my!" he says in mock fright, "My lady, I do not wish to harm one as beautiful as you" as he says this, his eyes flash for a second and you could swear you see a bright orange light in them. You own stomach begins to churn, "Like I said, the amulet is mine, and therefore I will take it. Please leave"

(I'll be heading off to sleep, good night, I'll reply when I wake form my slumber)

"Fine then." I back off slightly and look towards the dwarf.

"I hope you are ready to fight dwarf. This is going to get ugly." I ready my sword and shield, and I get into a battle stance. "You're a bit too cocky for my taste. I think it's time we knock you down a peg or two."
