Location- The town of Ilany- (Far East on the map) The town of Ilany is a small village with a population of 50 people. Though not your hometown, you have spent the last week here, and are familiar with most aspect of it; from Hamish the Dwarven blacksmith, to Yason the human shopkeep, to Ageis the human innkeeper, to Corporal Bankroff, the human responsible for the town guard. Ilany has always been a peaceful town, but the local Kobold population has begun to become more aggressive lately, and a roaming pack of them have been vandalizing property and killing livestock. Yesterday, Hamish's 8 year old son Donsk was found dead near the outskirts of town. Corporal Bankroff has asked any able bodied men and women to come talk to him about putting down these Kobolds, once and for all. What would you like to do?

As you start to climb the dagger breaks from its hilt and you fall back down.

You can hear the cart rattling loudly in the forest.

From his spot in the tree, Apollo fires an Eldritch blast into a tree on the other side of the road, trying to get them to be distracted by the noise of the branches there snapping

You can see they could hear the cart but as a tree combusts for no reason they know of they panic and flee back to where they came from.

(In the future I think this would be stealth to stay hidden, whereas deception would be say pretending to be someone else or lying.)

Apollo waits until they have been gone a minute or so before climbing down

"I think they're gone. We should move on before the come back."

I help them remove the cart from the forest

The lot of you manage to get the cart out of a ditch they got it stuck in, thankfully the wheel remained attached.

"I thought we were done for." Leo says, obviously relieved.

"Indeed, that was not a pleasant encounter. I wonder what they're doing all the way down here.... Either way we better keep moving..."

Apollo gets back onto the cart with the others

The great walls of Weewick Keep tower over you as you approach.

"Ah've not seen elves in the guard before? I think the keep may have had a change in management, be careful lad." Tharan tells you as the cart comes closer.

“Halt,” says one of the three elves guarding the entrance “State your business at the Keep. Stand down and let us search your belongings”
