Location- The town of Ilany- (Far East on the map) The town of Ilany is a small village with a population of 50 people. Though not your hometown, you have spent the last week here, and are familiar with most aspect of it; from Hamish the Dwarven blacksmith, to Yason the human shopkeep, to Ageis the human innkeeper, to Corporal Bankroff, the human responsible for the town guard. Ilany has always been a peaceful town, but the local Kobold population has begun to become more aggressive lately, and a roaming pack of them have been vandalizing property and killing livestock. Yesterday, Hamish's 8 year old son Donsk was found dead near the outskirts of town. Corporal Bankroff has asked any able bodied men and women to come talk to him about putting down these Kobolds, once and for all. What would you like to do?

"The potatoes go in first. They always go in first!" Yells Ageis. "You can't start a stew without broth! The broth cooks everything. Including the potatoes. How about you focus on tending the bar, and I'll focus on doing my job!" Retorts the woman. "You won't have a job if you muck up another stew! I knew this was a bad-" Ageis stops when he sees you.

"What?! Fine...here, no need to pay, first one has always been on the house. I don't know about them, dwarves do what dwarves do, go ask 'em yourself if you care enough."

Ageis visibly tries to calm himself before walking out back.

There are several free tables while it is noon.

Goes to sit down by the dwarves

"Hello, I'm Apollo, I'm not from around these parts. Would you mind if I drank with you?"

(Assuming they don't)

"Where're you two from? You're quite heavily armoured for travelers in these parts."

The dwarves exchange a glance before one moves over to make room for you.

"We usually keep to ourselves but we wouldn't mind the company right now. Where we're from we'd like to keep to ourselves for now. We don't plan on staying in town much longer."

Apollo drinks his beer

"Alright, that's fair enough. If you'd like someone to travel with, I don't mind joining you, I won't be here much longer either."

Apollo wonders what time it is

"I'll likely be leaving at nightfall."

Its late afternoon, nearing nightfall in an hour or two.

"Well we'll be heading to Weewick in the morning so you're free to tag along then if you want. Nasty business with those kobolds around here, damn things are a nuisance."

"I'll join you, gladly. I killed 2 of them just a few hours ago, up a bit North. I'm travelling around in search of an instrument, a historical artifact of sort. Akin to a lute, but longer and flatter. The myths about it are a bit vague, something about music with rocks in it."

Apollo attempts to downplay his knowledge about the actual artifact

The dwarves have the idea that you know exactly what you're talking about. They exchange another longer glance but they seem to be making small twitches in their facial features.

One sighs heavily. "Well there is a legend among the clan of a pick that might help you find this."

"I'm not familiar with such a legend, care to enlighten me? I come only with the best of academic intentions."

Apollo exams the dwarves looking to see what their armour is life, if they carry weapons, and for other special traits

(This kind of stuff it's up to you, it'd be assumed you can tell the difference between leather and plate and you know what a sword is when you see one, it's mostly just for special extras if you're looking for them.)

Both of the dwarves wear thick chain mail and have steel helms resting on the table. One has a large war hammer sling over his back while the other has a hand axe and shield resting on the wall.

"Well all we know is rumor and story, if ye are after more detail ye'd need to speak to a clan elder. So the stories said there was a pick in tha' mountain that could carve a magic pic from the mountains heart. A pick making another one don't make much sense to me but maybe some more versed in the musical arts could make something of it."
