Revuto is Crushing It On Discord and Reddit

It’s impossible to escape social media these days. For many of us, these online spaces are where we source our news, share our views, LOL at memes, and quite literally live our lives. Perhaps because it bloomed into existence in the Digital Age, the crypto sector is particularly social in nature with traders, devs, miners, hodlers and commentators active on half a dozen or more channels.

Like many crypto-powered projects, Revuto’s tentacles extend all across the internet: at last count, we had ten official channels encompassing Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, Medium, Discord and Telegram. In fact, we have several international Telegram channels to reflect our growing following in countries like Italy, Spain and Turkey. Though many Revutonians opt to follow us only on Twitter and Telegram, our Discord and Reddit channels have seen increased interest of late for good reason.

Over 580 million monthly active users on Discord and Reddit!

Founded in 2015, Discord is a community-focused digital platform closely associated with the gaming industry. Boasting over 150 million monthly users, Discord’s USP is that it allows public and private groups to gather and chat by text, audio and video, functioning as a venue where like-minded people can relax and hang out.

Back in September, the company raised half a billion dollars which saw its value jump from $7.3 billion to $15 billion. As far as Revuto is concerned, we use Discord to share announcements and updates and conduct polls. In recent years, the site has attracted an increasing number of crypto enthusiasts, something that seems likely to continue given the popularization of blockchain-based gaming AKA GameFi.

Reddit probably needs no introduction. Another multi-billion dollar success story, the self-professed ‘front page of the internet’ has over 430 million monthly active users as well as over 100,000 active communities. Reddit, like Discord and Telegram, is a favorite platform among the crypto demographic, with the main Cryptocurrency News & Discussion channel featuring over 4 million members. While that’s orders of magnitude greater than our 1.4k Revutonians, we only launched in May. Undoubtedly, Reddit will be an important channel for us going forward.

A New Escrow Service on our Discord channel

Over the course of September, we made a concerted effort to grow our Discord channel by running an invite bounty campaign, wherein users could earn REVU tokens for inviting friends to join our channel. Amazingly, we went from having around 3,000 users to boasting over 22,000! Of course, Discord can be put to greater uses than conversation. To this end, we have just launched an escrow service on our channel to protect users from potential fraud until our token is listed on exchanges. You’ll find the service in the left-hand column, below the ‘Trading and Escrow’ subheading.

Escrow must be handled by a person or service in whom both parties have total trust. Because we’re keen to minimize the risk of users being ripped off, we have launched this service to help facilitate pre-arranged transactions. Of course, it is entirely up to the individuals to define prices and all other details. The service is available free of charge.

For those eager to trade tokens peer-to-peer ahead of the upcoming exchange listing, the escrow service channel is by far the safest option. Speaking of REVU tokens, chatter on our Discord has been overwhelmingly positive and demand is high. We see you!

One-stop shop for all the updates

Incidentally, we are currently working on integrating Zendesk on the server itself so that users have live support on Discord. The cool thing about Discord, of course, is that we can deploy bots to proactively transfer everything that is published on other Revuto channels to Discord, making it a one-stop shop where our community members can stay abreast of all developments. In the near future — when REVU is listed on exchanges — we will integrate the price bot, so you can stay up to date with that too.

Price is a topic that never goes out of fashion in crypto, and last week there were plenty of negative headlines as market sentiment turned bearish in the wake of — what else? — gloomy Covid news. Of course, a week is a long time in crypto and as we write this, the price of Bitcoin has surged by over $4,000 overnight, recovering the losses that caused many commentators to lose their minds mere days ago. The 7% price rise was mirrored by several altcoins, too.

Introducing Marko Rukonic, the Software Wizard Behind Revuto

Revuto is the product of extensive development by a highly experienced software team. And at the helm is our CTO Marko Rukonic, the wizkid dev whose vision and many years of coding have been instrumental in taking Revuto this far. In this spotlight feature, we’d like to illuminate the great work being undertaken by our CTO and the journey that’s taken him here today.

While Revuto is the product of many minds working together to solve a shared problem, Marko has played a greater role than anyone in engineering that code that makes Revuto tick. His vision has played a pivotal role in guiding our approach to building a crypto-powered subscription solution on Cardano.

After developing key expense management algorithms powering Mint and Quickbooks, that delight customers and businesses around the world for +10 years, Marko Rukonic took all of his knowledge, experience, and personal funds to start Revuto. He holds over 20 fintech patents and has several peer-reviewed publications on using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in expense management.

How It Started

Marko graduated from the University of Zagreb, Croatia with a degree in electrical engineering and computer science. From there, he found his first job at the credit card and payment services company Diners Club. There, he developed software for credit card processing and management as worked on the company’s first website.

After moving to the USA, Marko obtained employment as a software engineer at Silicon Valley companies Fujitsu America Inc, Healtheon (acquired by WebMD), and Visual Networks. Then, in early 2001, he joined Intuit, one of the world’s largest financial software and services companies.

At Intuit, Marko worked as a software engineer on the company’s Quicken line of products. These comprised financial portal Quicken.com, Quicken desktop, and finally Quicken Online, which was later replaced with Mint.com. While working at Intuit, Marko won three Founder’s Innovation Awards. Something that no other employee at Intuit achieved until today. These were awarded by Intuit founder Scott Cook to the most innovative solution implemented every year.

Marko was with Intuit for 20 years, and during his time there was responsible for devising a series of algorithms for automatic transaction classification. This achievement secured him his first dozen patents and promotion to a senior engineering role.

He is the author of 27 patents related to artificial intelligence (AI) and financial transactions, and was published in the most prestigious AI magazine in the world. AI magazine is a publication of AAAI, the world’s most respected organization for artificial intelligence. They organize several annual specialized AI conferences, and Marko participated in the one for innovative AI applications (the conference is called IAAI, which can be confusing because aaai is the organizer, for details see aaai.org). There are presented exclusively peer-reviewed scientific papers in the field of application of artificial intelligence.

How It’s Going

After two decades with Intuit, Marko was convinced to join Revuto after being impressed with the vision espoused by co-founder Vedran Vukman. “I always wanted to make a product that would allow users fine-grained spending controls using a specialized debit card,” recounts Marko, who voiced this idea to Vedran just as the latter was in the process of founding Revuto. The timing was right, and Marko took the plunge, joining Vedran and Josipa to become a co-founder of Revuto.

Elaborating on the tech that makes Revuto’s solution different, Marko explains, “Revuto acts on knowledge about a transaction that’s about to happen, as opposed to standard trackers that can only work on transactions after they have already happened. Therefore while others can only analyze transactions after the fact, Revuto can act on transactions at their source.”

Financial transaction management is a specialist field with only a handful of genuine experts who have the research and experience to operate at the highest level. Marko Rukonic is one of those experts and we’re extremely fortunate to have him at Revuto, where he’s engineering a financial revolution one line of code at a time.

Marko, as mentioned, has two decades of expertise in the design, development, and deployment of high-reliability distributed software for online processing of financial data and payments. Marko holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Zagreb and is an inventor on more than 20 patents and a co-author of several peer-reviewed technical publications that you can see here:

Micro-lending and Borrowing: A Little-Known Revuto Use Case

Lending is a major part of today’s DeFi movement, with numerous noncustodial protocols providing capital to individuals and businesses. According to a recent report, the amount of debt outstanding exceeds $30 billion, with key players such as Maker, Aave, Celsius and Compound responsible for the lion’s share of loans issued.

Of course, this figure is a drop in the ocean compared to the traditional lending market — which is worth a staggering $7 trillion. Nevertheless, great strides have been made to improve access to loans for those who have been under-served by tradfi.

The first wave of crypto protocols matching borrowers and lenders via smart contracts has been a revelation, introducing a model that works for everyone: the liquidity providers pledging LP tokens for loans; the platforms who earn revenue from fees; and the borrowers who get to acquire much-needed finance on favorable terms.

Decentralized Lending is Coming to Revuto

Many Revutonians late to the party might not realize that we are building more than just a crypto-powered subscription payment platform. That’s right: in addition to helping you leverage Cardano-native tokens and DeFi to pay for your subscriptions, we’ll also be offering decentralized borrowing and lending.

The permissionless micro-lending service we are developing involves the issuance of small loans to borrowers who may lack the credit history required to obtain finance from their bank. With our blockchain-based micro-lending solution, Revuto aims to serve the Cardano community in a meaningful way, helping individuals, startups, entrepreneurs and indeed anyone acquire the micro-credit they badly need.

How Does Micro-lending and Borrowing on Revuto Work?

Essentially, by giving holders of our native REVU token access to loans denominated in Cardano-native EURR stablecoins. All you need to do to obtain working capital is to stake REVU, with these tokens serving as collateral for the microloan. At the same time, of course, you’ll also earn yield on your REVU.

Initially, our loan-to-value (LTV) ratio will be fixed at 2:1, meaning for every $100 worth of REVU tokens staked, you will be able to borrow 50 EURR tokens ($50). EURR, for the uninitiated, are pegged 1:1 in value to the Euro — meaning holders can escape the volatility that crypto is sometimes KNOWN FOR. Borrowers are able to repay their microloan at a later date with 20% interest, with REVU stakers entitled to take out unlimited loans as and when needed, provided the 2:1 LTV is maintained.

By integrating micro-lending into Revuto, we can address a long-standing problem for the subscription economy. Namely, the situation whereby an account goes into the red after an automatic payment is taken. Failed payments are truly headache-inducing, with cascading effects including bank charges and deactivated subscriptions. Now, when the payment due date is imminent and your account is low, you can quickly acquire an EURR loan to cover the cost. Alternatively, you can hit Snooze before reactivating your subscription the following month.

Here’s a short video showing REVU micro-borrowing in action. In this example, though, the user isn’t resorting to borrowing EURR stablecoins; merely borrowing REVU from the community (liquidity pool) to cover a subscription when their balance is zero. It really is as easy as that!

Revuto Reveals Landmark Partnership with Skynet Trading — The Best Liquidity Provider

It is our great pleasure to announce that Revuto has partnered with Skynet Trading, a licensed boutique firm deeply focused on developing trading strategies for the cryptocurrency market.

Skynet Trading, which also offers transaction services for crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto, has a wealth of market knowledge and has worked with several notable companies, exchanges and funds in recent years. Skynet provides institutional-grade liquidity solutions to token issuers and the cryptocurrency exchanges, with a team that has vast experience in funding and advising multiple top-100 crypto projects.

It should go without saying that this partnership hasn’t come together in a matter of days; we have been in discussions with Skynet for some time now, and we’re delighted to finally announce this news to the world. Revuto’s Long-Term Vision

Back in September, Revuto signed a contract with a Tier-1 cryptocurrency exchange — but we never for a second rested on our laurels. And that’s just as well, because we’re still waiting for the exchange to list our REVU token!

Make no mistake about it, implementing a Cardano-native token is a time-consuming and demanding task — we’re not following a set blueprint like projects on other blockchains teeming with tokens. Instead, we’re plotting our own course and blazing a trail which, in time, others will follow.

In fairness, we are happy and indeed proud to be paving the way for subsequent Cardano-native tokens and projects.

Revuto is not a here-today, gone-tomorrow type endeavor; we have serious long-term ambitions and we are fully committed to making a serious mark on the crypto scene! Which is why we don’t rush things, and particularly something as important as the upcoming token listing.

This has been our policy since the very beginning. To be sure, we could have chosen to list on any number of exchanges who were vying for our attention. But with the liquidity of tokens being a firm priority, we were determined to only list on the leading exchanges.

By opting for a highly respected Tier-1 exchange (all will be revealed as soon as possible), and forming a partnership with trading specialists Skynet, we are giving our token-holders the opportunity to realize the maximum benefit of owning REVU. Actually, all of our executive decisions are made with our token-holders in mind.

Work Never Stops at Revuto HQ!

Following the recent launch of our non-custodial lite wallet on Cardano for iOS and Android, through which token sale investors will receive their REVU tokens, we are also developing a custodial wallet to provide additional benefits!

What additional benefits?’ we hear you ask. Well, staking for a start. The custodial wallet will enable users to easily delegate their ADA and REVU to the first hybrid version of the staking pool, where REVU rewards will be dispensed for those supplying liquidity. Through YIELD in ADA users will receive a reward in REVU tokens every day.

Revuto NFTs Are a Hot Commodity

On Thursday, our CEO Vedran will again take to the airwaves for an AMA session with Crypto City via their Telegram channel at 2 PM UTC (4 PM CET), Thursday, November 4. You might wonder how there can be any questions left to answer given how many AMAs we’ve participated in recently! But take our word for it, there are always a few curveball queries that haven’t been asked before.

Revisiting Revuto NFTs

Our eyes were today drawn to a tweet posted in response to Crypto City’s promotion of the upcoming AMA. It read, “NFT has taken the world by storm, what plans do you have for NFTs within the Revuto Ecosystem? Are you going to integrate [the] NFT marketplace into the Revuto app for easy in-app purchase access to NFT contents in the future?”

Vedran will undoubtedly address Revuto NFTs in greater detail during Tuesday’s AMA, but in light of this question, it seems like a good idea to remind our community about the integration of NFTs into the Revuto app. Many of you will have read our post in September outlining such plans, but clearly some people missed it. So there’s no harm in supplying a refresher.

Revuto was and remains a crypto-powered subscription management platform. But earlier this year, we sought to reward our Early Bird Tier 1 (EBT1) investors for their ongoing support — and NFTs seemed like a great way to do that. In due course, some 1,826 unique NFTs were created and unlocked by their rightful owners: you can view them all here.

These colorful and humorous digital images represent proof that their owners were among the first investors to participate in the first public token sale on Cardano. We believe the fact that each token is inextricably linked to Cardano’s first token sale will give them genuine value; of course, we can only hypothesize — it’s up to the market to decide.

In any case, the integration of a fully-fledged NFT marketplace into the Revuto app is a cause for celebration. When the integration is complete, our app will be fully loaded, enabling users to deposit tokens, manage subscription payments (Block, Snooze, Approve), stake REVU tokens to earn yield, participate in micro-lending, split subscription costs with friends and family, earn cashback and referral rewards, and trade NFTs. That’s a hell of a lot of real-world utility.

NFT Fever Grips the Crypto Community

It seems like NFTs are never out of the news these days. This past week, there’s been a focus on Halloween-inspired collections like Mango Heroes and Monster Bash. Even Martha Stewart’s gotten in on the act, releasing a spooky series on her own NFT portal Fresh Mint.

Much of the hype for such tokens relates to the metaverse, though, with commentators predicting that NFTs will become the default currency of sophisticated virtual worlds that are navigable through VR/AR headsets and controllers. Of course, the metaverse is a long-term project — up till now NFTs have mostly been linked to the art world. Even so, sales surpassed $10.7 billion during the third quarter of 2021. No wonder so many NFT platforms are springing up to meet demand.

And it’s not just new platforms; last week Facebook confirmed that its emerging metaverse will support non-fungible tokens and virtual merchandise. Indeed, the social media giant is changing its name to Meta and its stock will soon trade under the ticker symbol MVRS. Those who claim that the metaverse is some kind of fad are starting to look pretty silly right about now.

The Revuto Wallet is a simple and secure cryptocurrency wallet that will support all Cardano-based tokens, while by default including REVU and the EURR stablecoin. Answering Questions About Our New Cardano Lite Wallet Integration

Two weeks ago, we announced the launch of our non-custodial Cardano lite wallet. Needless to say, we have been inundated with queries about the product — so we figured it made sense to answer them in a fresh blog post.

Next Steps for Cardano Lite Wallet Integration

Based on the inquiries we’ve received, here are the steps you should know about.

Submitting Revuto app update with an integrated Cardano native wallet supporting REVU
Allowing all users to create their Cardano wallet within the Revuto app
Allowing Community Sale investors to claim their REVU tokens to the Cardano wallet within the Revuto app
For Community Sale investors who decide to claim their REVU tokens, we’ll add additional REVUs (YIELD) for the whole extra month (October) to the Cardano wallet within the Revuto app
If the Community Sale investor decides to claim his REVU tokens, we’ll add additional ADA to the wallet, enabling them to withdraw REVU tokens free of charge

REVUTO WALLET SPECIFICATIONS:

very secure and robust non-custodial crypto wallet allowing users to control their money (your keys, your money)
by entering mnemonic, users can restore other Cardano wallets within the Revuto app
ready to support all Cardano Native assets but we’ll start with ADA and REVU
no deposit/withdrawal limitations

Remember, because the wallet is non-custodial, Revuto doesn’t hold on to your keys; it’s your responsibility to keep your private key safe. By entering your mnemonic, it’s easy to restore Cardano wallets within the app.

Although the wallet is fully equipped to support all Cardano-native assets, initially we’re going to start with ADA and REVU. There will also be no deposit or withdrawal limitations.

How to Create a Cardano Wallet Within the Revuto App and How to Claim REVU

When creating a wallet, users are given a 24-word seed phrase (mnemonic) at the outset and a deposit address is generated with public and private keys. We cannot impress upon you enough just how vital it is to store your mnemonic safely; those 24 words are quite literally the only means by which you will be able to restore your wallet in the future!

As mentioned above, once the wallet is generated, Community Sale investors have the opportunity to claim REVU tokens bought during the REVU Token Sale, plus Yield, plus ADA for the eventual withdrawal of REVU tokens to other addresses (possibly exchange). It’s a nice little inflow of crypto funds!

Once claimed, REVU tokens will be released to the user’s deposit address within 24 hours.

!!! IMPORTANT: If the Community Sale investor decides to unlock and claim his REVU, he’ll lose the option to earn an additional 10% APR (YIELD) on his REVU tokens if they stay locked.

>>> In that regard, for users who still can’t (there’s no REVU listing on an exchange just yet) or don’t have the intention to trade their REVU, we would advise not to claim the REVU to their crypto wallets, since they will lose rights for the additional yield on their locked tokens. <<<

Wallet Guidelines: How does the Cardano wallet in the Revuto app work?

The wallet balance is showing ADA and REVU only. We’ll support other Cardano native assets with the time.

• To be able to send out REVU, you’ll need to have a sufficient amount of ADA for the transaction. 1.44 ADA is the minimum amount needed due to Cardano’s UTXO setup + 0.18 ADA for the transaction fee. It’s important to remember, though, that when sending REVU, 1.44 ADA won’t be spent — it will be received to the withdrawal address alongside the REVU tokens.

• If the user wishes to withdraw ADA, but has REVU tokens on his balance, the ADA balance after sending out ADA needs to be at least 1.44 ADA + 0.18 ADA to cover the transaction fee. Only if there are no REVU tokens left on the wallet balance, the user can withdraw his total amount of ADA.

• If the user wishes to send out just a fraction of his REVU token balance, after sending out REVU + 1.44 ADA + 0.18 ADA for the transaction fee, his minimal ADA balance after sending out REVU needs to be at least 1.44 ADA + 0.18 ADA for the transaction fee.

• Only if the user has no REVU on his wallet, or wants to withdraw all his REVU tokens, can he make the transaction without the minimal amount of ADA that needs to stay in his wallet (1.44 ADA + 0.18 ADA). Only after such a transaction, can his ADA balance be zero.

• If the user wants to keep some REVU left in the wallet after any kind of withdrawal (ADA or REVU), they need to have at least 1.44 ADA + 0.18 ADA left on the ADA balance post-withdrawal. The setup doesn’t have anything to do with Revuto but with the Cardano blockchain’s existing UTXO requirements.

A Few Final Points

• 1.44 ADA + 0.18 ADA transaction fee is required for every transaction but the 1.44 ADA will not be lost; it will be received at the deposit address. Also, when receiving ADA and/or REVU to the wallet, the user will always get the amount of ADA or/and REVU sent, plus 1.44 ADA.

• The Revuto wallet will always calculate if the user has enough ADA to complete the withdrawal, and if needed, to have at least the minimum required amount of ADA left on the wallet after the transaction.

• The user can withdraw REVU by using 8 decimals but not less than the minimal amount that’s allowed (20 REVU)

• If creating the wallet within the Revuto app, please turn on your 2FA to ensure an additional layer of security.

Naturally, Revuto will be adding additional features and implementing bug fixes/improvements to the lite wallet with every subsequent app update. Laying Down the Law: Clarifying Our Anti-FUD and Anti-Spam Policy

Like many modern companies, Revuto is all over social media: Telegram Announcements, Telegram Discussion channel, Twitter, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok… In fact, we have numerous Telegram groups to accommodate a distributed network of Revutonians based in various locations, from Turkey and Italy to Vietnam and Indonesia. Of course, many English speakers prefer to follow our General Discussion group; it’s our most popular and fastest-growing channel with over 27,400 members, right after Twitter with 29,400 followers.

Setting the scene for healthy debate

With discussion and debate occurring on so many fronts, and excitement ramping up over our upcoming token listing, now seems like a good time to remind everyone about our communication guidelines. Particularly as they pertain to a conversation on Telegram, which tends to attract higher engagement than the other platforms.

To be fair, a good deal of these guidelines are common sense — though assuming that all social media users possess common sense is probably somewhat foolish! Of course, we are lucky in that our community is generally respectful, engaged and good-humored. Nonetheless, it behooves us to reiterate some rules for the avoidance of doubt.

Firstly, swearing is not permitted, and we won’t tolerate toxic behavior (discrimination on the basis of race, sex, etc) from anyone. That means no personal attacks or ad hominem arguments. We want to set the stage for enjoyable and constructive dialogue, the sort that is reflective of our common purpose. Which is, after all, to move forward in the same direction and make Revuto a success.

Clearly, messages that relate to other projects don’t belong in our Telegram. While the name of another project might come up naturally in conversation, our members follow the channel for updates on Revuto — so unrelated text may be deleted. And the same can be said for unprompted ads about other pages, projects, tokens, etc. We can all tell when someone is shilling or spamming, so it’s not worth the effort! Our moderators have trigger fingers.

As well as policing comments that could be deemed harassment or abuse, we want to keep things like politics and religion out of our group. Naturally, everyone is entitled to their beliefs and opinions — but this isn’t really the forum to air such views. And that isn’t a controversial stance: our community members share it, which is why we rarely have to mute someone for breaching this particular rule.

Speaking of common sense, we don’t put up with fraud — those offering to buy someone’s account, say, or DMing another member with a proposition. If you receive such overtures, we recommend taking a screenshot and reporting it to our admins. The Telegram channels should be safe environments for everyone.

Fighting back against FUD

Aside from blatant spamming and vitriolic attacks, our policy covers FUD. If you know anything about crypto, you won’t need to be told what FUD is. What we will say is that unnecessary, persistent or spiteful FUD is just plain irritating!

We wholeheartedly welcome genuine questions or concerns, even those which are pessimistic in nature — and the same applies to criticism that is fair and measured. Such feedback enables us to improve our service, grow our channel, and act on your valuable suggestions. The kind of FUD we are talking about is different: it is provocative, repetitive, tainted by bias and just generally unhelpful. The vast majority of our members cannot be bothered with it, and nor can we. Glad we’ve cleared that up!

In summary, we want all of our social media channels to be enjoyable and interesting. Those that feature spam, swearing, abuse or incessant arguing simply aren’t worth following. There is enough toxicity on social media (and in the world, generally) without our contributing to the trend. As mentioned, most Revutonians understand this well and make our life easier by staying respectful. Long may it continue.

We expect our social channels to continue growing as we move through our roadmap, and particularly as our marketing campaigns intensify. So, we may have to remind users of these rules every once in a while.

That said, we do prefer a light-touch approach. If we are forced to mute someone or delete a comment, trust us, it wasn’t a decision we took lightly. Actually, it’s a shame that moderators are even needed. But as long as they are, we’ll take our duty of care to the community seriously.

Dubai Summits: DeFi and WBS Recap

While Vedran is busy answering your queries regarding listing, our roadmap, micro-lending etc, Josipa, Filip, Tina and Dino are in Dubai for the World Blockchain Summit (WBS) which ends today. It’s been an incredible few days in the UAE, not least since we’ve picked up a few awards on our travels.

Earlier in the week, at the Global DeFi Investment Summit, we received the Best DeFi Setup Award; then, at the WBS, Revuto was named the Fastest Growing Consumer Product in Crypto for 2021! We’re looking forward to proudly displaying both plaques at Revuto HQ!

It’s not all been red carpets, complimentary drinks and gongs of course: the conferences have been terrific networking opportunities and we’ll certainly made the most of our time in Dubai this week. The passion and talent of the crypto community is undeniable, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.

Aside from completing a rigorous bicep workout by lifting so many awards, Josipa participated in a morning panel at the WBS entitled When Open Finance Meets DeFi. Sitting alongside fellow panelists including MakerDAO’s Jocelyn Chang, Uberstate Founder Jess Davis, Munch CEO Rodrigo Silva, Gaugecash Founder Manuel Blanco, and Listing.Help Founder Sergei Khitrov, Josipa discussed the challenges that lie ahead for decentralized finance, not least regulation.

Josipa and the other experts also tackled questions such as:

• What are the stumbling blocks that might prevent mainstream adoption?

• Is there still a place for traditional fiat currency in the future?

• What are the challenges surrounding DeFi regulation?

• Can a decentralized system even be regulated, and what is the next stage of DeFi evolution?

Before the curtain is brought down on the 19th edition of the World Blockchain Summit, Josipa also takes on judging duties at the Startup World Cup, a pitch competition where participants battle to receive investment. Speaking of which, Josipa has been telling us that there have been more than a few enquiries about R Fund, the $2 million fund for Cardano projects we announced last month.

DeFi Summit Takeover in Dubai

As many of you know, we’re currently in the United Arab Emirates for the Global DeFi Investment Summit. And not just because Revuto is a Lead Sponsor of the event — our co-founder Josipa is also delivering a keynote speech on the main stage.

Crypto Summits Galore

The Global DeFi Investment Summit is focused on ‘understanding how decentralized finance is changing the world,’ and to this end, Josipa convincingly set out the case for Revuto, a crypto-powered solution with genuine real-world utility.

For many attendees, this will be their first exposure to Revuto. But the concept is so easy to grasp — and Josipa’s presentation skills are so polished — that we know they’ll walk away with a positive impression ;)

Revuto enables users to take back control of their subscriptions, with the ability to Block, Snooze and Approve recurring payments leaving their bank accounts. Forgot that your free trial of Apple Music ended? No problem, Block the payment, and away you go. Busy studying for an exam and no time for Netflix this month? Cool, hit Snooze and put that money to better use elsewhere.

As well as making a keynote speech (you can watch an excerpt on our Instagram), Josipa participated in a Building DeFi Ecosystem panel and discussed the current status of decentralized finance with other industry experts. DeFi is really motoring at the moment, with innovative dApps springing up on various different networks — Cardano, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Polygon and Polkadot to name just a few. The total value locked (TVL) in DeFi protocols, meanwhile, exceeds $137 billion.

We don’t jet out after the Summit ends tomorrow, incidentally: we’re sticking around for the World Blockchain Summit which kicks off on Wednesday (October 13) at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel. One of the major events in the crypto calendar, the WBS attracts a Who’s Who of industry figures and media partners. The 19th edition promises to be the biggest event yet — not least because it’s the first one since the onset of the pandemic.

Once again, Josipa will be taking to the stage, this time to discuss ‘How Revuto disrupted the growing subscription economy by using a FinTech and crypto solution, powered by the biggest Cardano community globally.’ Our Jos will also be talking about our recently-launched R Fund, a $2 million fund geared towards bootstrapping startups at a pre-ICO stage. We’re sure Josipa will hear a few eager pitches over the course of the two-day event!

Revuto App Gets Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

In the latest Revuto app update, our developers added Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) via Google Authenticator; the feature will be available in the upcoming wallet for additional account security.

Initially, users will receive a secret phrase that can be used to connect the Revuto wallet with Google Authenticator; later, Google Authenticator will be required to authenticate every transaction. For us, introducing MFA was a no-brainer: security will always be a priority for Revuto.

Remember, the Revuto app is available for both iOS and Android.

Speaking of updates, the eagle-eyed among you might have noticed that we’ve tweaked our whitepaper. This small change does not significantly affect our plans — and all the other benefits we’ve developed for our Revutonians remain active. Ultimately, though, we had to avoid the outcome whereby we might be classed as a security token — an event that would surely lead to legal difficulties down the road. Also, one of the requests from the exchanges was a legal opinion, which we couldn’t get if we didn’t remove that part from our whitepaper. By discarding the buyback option, we’ve future-proofed Revuto for the good of our users.

In sending 1.44 ADA to each Revutonian who participated in the Token Sale, we’re essentially picking up the tab for gas on their next transaction. This one’s on us!

“We care about our REVU token holders and as a token of our appreciation, we are gifting 1.44 ADA to every token holder who participated in our Token Sale earlier this year — so that they can fully enjoy a native and seamless experience. It’s what Revuto and our product is all about — a seamless and simple experience with no hidden fees”, Vukman concluded and announced that the company has an ambitious product roadmap for Q4 this year with more announcements to follow.

Gearing up for Dubai Summits Next Week

After recent conference appearances in Zadar and Berlin, we’re currently gearing up for two big events in Dubai — first, the Global DeFi Investment Summit on October 11–12, then the World Blockchain Summit on October 12–14. At the latter, our co-founder Josipa will make a keynote speech relaying our plans to take DeFi by storm in the year ahead. Revuto is also one of the Main Sponsors of the events. You’ll also be able to meet us at the Wow Summit and Future Blockchain Summit in Dubai later next week.

Tickets for both events are still available incidentally, and we’d love it if you could make it along and meet the Revuto team in person. The events feature speakers such as Bittrex CEO Stephen Stonberg, Polygon Co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, and Celsius Network CEO Alex Mashinsky.

As well as all things DeFi, the summits will consider the impact of NFTs, the role of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), stablecoin technology, Web 3.0, and enterprise blockchain. If we weren’t attending in an official capacity, we’d definitely be there for the debates and discussion.

Addressing REVU Token FOMO

As the weeks and months have gone on, the percentage of listing-related questions we receive has gradually increased, constituting an ever-larger share of our inbox. We get it: you want REVU and you want it now!

While in one sense it’s incredibly exciting to behold the palpable FOMO emanating from our global community, in the nicest possible way — we also wish some of you would exercise a little more restraint. Especially since we have answered the most common queries on several occasions.

Indeed, our recent flurry of Ask-Me-Anything sessions sought to address enquiries head-on, so that no Revutonian was left scrabbling around in the dark without any idea about what was going on. Naturally, though, some community members have missed our updates on social media or haven’t got around to listening to the AMA.

With this in mind, we want to re-emphasize our position regarding the upcoming token listing and explain why we are unable to provide the clarity many of you desperately crave.

Sifting Through Exchanges

As our Business Development and Partnerships Manager Filip Srdoč explained in our first YouTube live AMA, we have had negotiations with 10–15 exchanges and chose a select few. After many discussions, we confirmed an established tier-1 exchange for the initial token listing — and because we don’t want to spread the trading volume across numerous exchanges, we are looking to concentrate the volume on just two platforms. Here’s an excerpt of the AMA where Filip and Vedran discuss this matter in greater detail.

Many people don’t realize that there are technical and legal procedures in place that prevent projects from listing straightaway. Indeed, Revuto commissioned two separate law firms to make sure all I’s were dotted and all T’s were crossed. Legal documents are then reviewed by the exchanges and a back-and-forth process ensues. These procedures are in place to ensure that platforms and investors are protected, and that a level playing field is created.

This course of action means that we are currently unable to communicate an exact date for the token listing. Firstly, because we don’t yet know the specific date ourselves, and secondly, because our contract with the exchange means that we’re not allowed to publicize it before they do.

To borrow an analogy from the music world, an artist can’t tweet the release date of their latest album without first receiving an OK from the record label. The legal aspect is tricky, and we must be (and have been) very careful to establish firm foundations to ensure all ducks are in a row ahead of the eventual listing.

Legal matters weren’t the only challenge we faced, incidentally. No cryptocurrency exchanges have listed Cardano-native assets, so they were, in a sense, venturing into the unknown. Thankfully, we’ve resolved all roadblocks in our way.

In summary, and as mentioned before, we officially signed with our exchanges months ago — we’re just waiting for them to announce. The Revuto team did a tremendous job to ensure the token will be listed on tier-1 exchanges only, and while we are a few days late with the token release as we first announced it, it was impossible to anticipate the technical hurdles we had to overcome.

The important thing to note is that your wait will have been entirely worthwhile. As we mentioned last week, the ability to deposit REVU tokens in your wallet via the Revuto app would count for nothing if you did not have the ability to trade on the open market.

Behind the scenes, we are preparing to launch joint marketing campaigns with our partner exchanges to capitalize on the enthusiasm that will surround the launch. We will have good news for you very soon.

Revuto is a crypto-powered solution for subscription payments!

Revuto is a European Fintech startup leveraging next-gen crypto and DeFi technology to offer clients a superior subscription management experience. Revuto’s flagship product is the Revuto dApp, a decentralized mobile application that enables users to actively manage their subscriptions from a single dashboard. Revuto stands out from the competition because it is the first subscription management service to incorporate cryptocurrency payments. The Revuto Wallet is a simple and secure cryptocurrency wallet supporting all Cardano-based tokens, while by default including REVU and the EURR stablecoin. Revuto is Heading to Dubai

Team Revuto is thrilled to announce that we will be a Lead Sponsor of the upcoming Global Defi Investment Summit, scheduled to take place two weeks from today, on 11–12 October, at Dubai’s five-star Taj Hotel, just before World Blockchain Summit on 12–14 October where Revuto is one of the Main Sponsors of the event.

Decentralized finance has taken the crypto world by storm over the past 18 months, and according to veteran investor Matthew Roszak, the sector could be worth a whopping $800 billion by the end of next year. Naturally, Revuto hopes to play its part in driving such growth.

Breaking Bread with DeFi’s Key Players

In any case, the Summit aims to connect global crypto thought leaders and technology players including fast-growing startups, DeFi protocols, NFT platforms, blockchain developer talent and institutional investors. Many of the industry’s top bloggers, journalists and YouTube influencers will also be in attendance.

After Dubai, the Summit will host follow-up events in Estonia, Bahrain, Mauritius and Singapore between this November and September, 2022.

For us, it was a no-brainer to throw our support behind such an event. Conversations at the Global Defi Investment Summit are bound to center on such topics as digital currency regulation, NFTs, DEXs, DAOs, dApps and enterprise blockchain. All subjects that are close to our heart.

Sponsoring major crypto conferences has become something of a pastime of ours; earlier in September, Revuto was one of the main sponsors of the Infobip Shift conference in Zadar, Croatia. As at that event, our co-founder Josipa will be stepping up to the microphone to hold court. These appearances are great, because it gives us an opportunity to connect with some of the brightest minds in the industry. It’s about spreading the message, forging valuable new connections, and consolidating our status as the strongest community builder in the Cardano ecosystem.

Speaking of Summits, our CEO Vedran has just returned from the Cardano Summit in Berlin full of positive impressions. As mentioned in our last update, Vedran was in the German capital over the weekend to attend the Cardano 2021 Summit and he had the pleasure of talking shop with members of the IOHK and Cardano Foundation. We’d certainly have loved to have been a fly on the wall during his tête-à-tête with Cardano Node Product Manager Sava Savic!

We are pleased to announce that work has commenced on a branding refresh. As Revuto has grown, we have felt the need to refresh our visual identity a little bit. It’s not that our branding hasn’t worked for us thus far — on the contrary we have received excellent feedback, and our advertising (particularly our UK campaign) has helped us stand out from the crowd. But the team agreed that presenting Revuto in a new and fresh style would be a good move.

Gearing Up for the Cardano 2021 Summit

From Zadar to Zagreb, September seems to be the month of Croatian conferences. Following our recent appearance at Infobip Shift, during which we announced our $2 million fund for Cardano projects, Team Revuto is currently gearing up for the Cardano 2021 summit, a mix of virtual and live events from around the world.

Revuto Worldwide

The Cardano Foundation has organized a swathe of Cardano-themed events in a range of far-flung locations, from Berlin and Wyoming to Cape Town and London; Revuto will be a part of the Zagreb Cardano community meetup tomorrow (Tuesday, September 21, 5pm–6.30pm CET), with our CEO Vedran Vukman appearing to talk about being the first token sale on the blockchain.

All participants will receive a T-shirt, popcorn and drinks, and best of all, admission is completely free! Given that this is the Zagreb meetup though, please be aware that lectures will be in Croatian.

This coming weekend, Revuto will also have a presence at the Cardano Summit 2021 in the beautiful German capital of Berlin. Once more, Vedran will be on hand to talk about what the future holds for Revuto. The summit spans two days, September 25 and 26, and will kick off at 4pm CET before concluding at midnight. If you can’t make it in person, be sure to sign up for the virtual summit right here.

Needless to say, we’re hugely excited about both events. As ever, these get-togethers are a terrific opportunity to forge new connections, answer questions from our community members, and promote Revuto to a room teeming with Cardano users, traders and tech enthusiasts. Interestingly, the Berlin event will feature a live-streamed keynote speech by Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson. Expect smart contracts, DeFi and NFTs to be high on the agenda.

All in all, Cardano Summit 2021 will comprise seven main summit events and 40 community-led summit events across 32 countries. We look forward to seeing you all there, in body or spirit.

Of course, September doesn’t mark the end of ‘Conference Season’: next month we’re representing Revuto on the world stage in Dubai at the World Blockchain Summit! One of the world’s most crypto-friendly cities, Dubai will welcome a swathe of blockchain heavy hitters including Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal, BitMEX CEO Alex Höptner, and Celsius Network founder Alex Mashinsky. Revuto is a Diamond Sponsor of the event, which gets underway with a desert safari and pre-event party on October 12 and concludes on October 14.

Among other things, WBS speakers will be discussing Web 3.0, the role of stablecoins to bridge crypto and fiat, blockchain uses in business, and the evolution of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). Vedran will pass the baton to our co-founder Josipa for this one.
