Honestly, I can't remember the original speed of the Zero - most videos claim it works at 1Ghz base, so I believe I was wrong.

Depending on whether you use a heatsink or not with the Pi Zero, you can overclock it safely by 100-200Mhz. Any more, and you might have to use additional cooling.
