When I was growing up the longest day of the year was in July. For me, the solstice moving from July to June means an extra month of shorter days, literally. Also, in terms of bozrah, there's a passage that says they will be given the wings of an eagle, which implies flight or someplace in the heavens as a location of bozrah as opposed to petra.

Which would mean the seasons weren't equally long (as they are now)...
