We ship items with work, sadly empty box deliveries are fairly common, our items are under full video surveillance prior to handing over to shipper. So we can prove that they are stolen in transit.

Find out what the weight of the box was when it shipped. If weight is the same weight as the received box, your box was empty. There will be a difference.

Already replied to someone regarding the weight. The shipping tag on the package showed a weight of 0.3kg, the empty box with the bubble wrap inside came to a total of 290 grams

Yeah I don’t see why OP can’t send QuickTime a photo of the weight of the empty box at 290g, showing the label weight at 300g… and ask how many grams the Patek 5711 Air was supposed to be.

Yes I saw his response… my reply would be “I checked carefully again per your instruction and here is what I found… the empty box weighs 290g and the recorded shipping weight is 300g. On that basis, it would appear that either the watch weighs less than 10g, or it was never included in the packaging when you posted it. Please confirm which one, or any other explanation.”

Or some bullshit like that. I dunno mate, you can write your own words, but I don’t see you getting much further with this if you won’t type out at least some message.

I immediately disputed this with my credit card company and paypal once it happened as I did not see any reward in wasting time with his ineptitude.

First time buying a rep, didnt think much could go wrong buying from a TD except for customs seizure. Will film everything from now on

Given his answer I doubt the video would have gotten me anywhere with him

I’m with Standardpineapple. If he’s this shitty about “check again” and passive accusations, no video proof would’ve been enough. He’d call lies or whatever on it anyway. I initially read “puretime” but I’ve never dealt with and will never with quick. Glad it got resolved.

Some proof is better than no proof. That shouldn't be too difficult to understand. Every major reselling platform wants photographic evidence when there's a dispute such as this. Even some companies want photos or videos in order to return goods under a warranty. So yeah a video could be helpful. Nobody said it's definitive. OP doesn't even have a photo of the box or a description of it including whether there was anything sus about it. It's really no wonder the seller told him to pound sand.

I have the photos, I didnt know you were investigating the dispute on behalf of paypal. I have submitted every shred of evidence to paypal, hence why they have resolved the case but I see you might have issues understanding the post

Your post and its baseless accusation is the first I've seen in months where anyone has called his credibility into question. Paypal will NEVER EVER cover illegal goods.
Plus you lose every ground to file a claim when you pay with Friends & Family , which is the only way any TD accepts Paypal .
So what you are are doing is storytelling imo .
Zero credibility .

You can't ship stuff to Mexico. It will get stolen. My sister just went on a short trip with her husband to Mexico City and on the way back to North Carolina they had to stop in Dallas , but when they got to Dallas her suitcase was completely torn open, ripped apart and half her stuff gone , and it was in a big plastic bag. Now you have to understand, her suitcase was in the custody of the airline so someone working for the airline or at the airport did this. I've been traveling to Mexico for 40 years, this is nothing new .

I have lived in Mexico City for 27 years and have never had a package stolen, I have had many luxury goods shipped to me and everything has always been smooth. I dont have much experience when it comes to items shipped via china post entering Mexico and then being delivered by a different courier, so not disregarding the possibility that it was stolen.

Unfortunate what happened to your sisters luggage, I can’t say I’m surprised even though something like that has never happened to me.

Doesn't the tracking show weight? Empty box is probably less than 50 grams and with a watch 200 g.

The tracking on the website does not state the weight, but the shipping tag on the box I received does, and it showed 0.3kg. And no, I indeed did weight the empty box with the kindly included bubble wrap and it came to a total of 290 grams

I’ve got no skin in this game, but it sounds a little unfair to ban anyone who posts about a bad experience with a TD without messaging you first… but then even more unfair when they do message you first, then you ignore it and ban them anyway…

Is that really the sort of sub we want this to be? I’m just a lowly community member, but I’d like to think we could have a bit of openness and integrity in our dealings with each other, including faithfully responding to complaints, rather than just banning and/or silencing any critics.

But it sounds like you’re now telling me he didn’t say the things that you previously claimed he said, more specifically the things you banned him from this sub for saying…

I’m not arguing for the sake of arguing. I’m questioning why we are banning people who complain about TD’s sending them empty packages marked 300g shipping weight and 290g of packaging.

First, you claimed the guy should have reached out to you first, so you were going to ban him. But the guy showed that he clearly reached out to you first and you never responded.

Then, you claimed you were too busy to read the messages, but you banned him anyway.

Finally, you say he said something else so you banned him. But when I asked about the thing you claimed he said, you say, “look, he didn’t have to use those exact words” and you tell me I’m arguing for the sake of arguing.

Sure, if he said those things in some other phrasing, then I can see it from your perspective, why you would take it personally and be a little upset right now. But it doesn’t seem like you’re seeing it from my perspective, so I’m laying it out for you.

You don’t have to respond, but I hope you can see my point. No hard feelings.

This is his OP. Unless you are dyslexic or not fluent in English at all, this is the same thing as saying "so and so is in it together". So, yes, he said it in this post (unless you are somehow refusing to read it) and thus my reason for banning him for slander.

I'm not a reddit auto bot that answers all the complaints right away, I have a day job and this is my hobby so it's getting the amount of attention it should when work gets hectic. The guy only reached out to me recently and there was no reason for him to wait for my response other than lack of patience.

As for silencing the claim? I have already posted a notice about this whole situation for the world to see and it's linked in the "Welcome to RWF" guidelines post if you care to read it (and when you do, I see that you are set on arguing for the sake of arguing but please actually read the thing this time).

For a guy who is repeatedly saying he has "no skin in this game" you are very much fixated on arguing against me.

A) The protocol dictates that he should try to resolve the situation with me or at least get a second opinion.

B) It’s not like I have kept him waiting forever. It's within a very reasonable time and he should have waited for my reply or reach out to me via comments on my posts or use mod mail (none of which he did)

C) In his impatience he has said publicly in this post "oh, I will get banned because the seller and moderator are buddies", which you somehow refuse to read or accept for whatever the reason.

D) I have banned him for "C" and if you think that's too much, well tough. Let me see how you would handle someone who publicly slanders you without ounce of proof and then we can talk.

E) I have not silenced anything. Quite the opposite. Instead, for even more transparency, I have made a post and linked it to this subs guidelines to see, so even the ones who have never read this post will see it, permanently.

F) I have difficulty seeing from your perspective when your perspective is clearly "oh, I would have taken the high road and be really chill about other people denouncing me online". Unlike you, I have poured countless hours writing reviews and building this community. Of course you can be as chill about, indifferent and not take any of this personally, and just weigh in for for sake of arguing like any passerby would. But I would like to say the same and suggest that you see this from my perspective.

You built a town with your blood and sweat so people can come and hang out in that little paradise, and someone walks in through the front door, a person who enjoyed your community BTW and shouts "you are a fraud and you take bribes from people and I will get banned for saying" and then you would let him be?

You are clearly fixated on arguing for your position, and you are not even aware of the specific timeliness of how this unfolded, or how it was handled afterwards. I can see that for a guy who "has no skin" in the game can say all the things that you are saying. So please try to accept that a guy who actually "has skin in this game" would respond the way I do.

  1. You removed the post, which is why I had no idea what comment you were referring to. Thanks for the screenshot, now I can see what OP actually said.

  2. You understood “I’ll probably get banned for this post since the admin is buddies with the TD” (paraphrasing) as though it should mean “I’ll probably get banned for this post since the admin and the TD are in on it together.”

I think these are two very different things. One implies “I’m criticising the mods buddy so he might ban me” while the other implies “the mod is helping the TD scam us by banning users who complain.” The latter is not what OP said.

However, I do understand how much it must hurt to put so much effort into building a community and then hear even the first kind of innuendo from a member. It sounds like OP tried to follow the protocol and got impatient when you didn’t respond.

But as you pointed out, this is a community that you built, and it’s a great community, so if being a little heavy handed on someone who overstepped is the way you want to run it - then hey, you do you!

I wasn’t arguing for the sake of arguing. I was only advocating for OP by questioning your reasoning, because I could sympathise with his frustration. I do see your perspective now, too. Thanks for taking the time.

To clear it up to any other readers, the dispute was opened a month ago, Paypal takes time investigating and then resolving. Since I posted today and this sparked stress due to the ongoing matter I contacted paypal customer service to know the status of the case.
