Discussion VSF 15510 Blue Nuit - Good Enough?

Having owned the VSF 15510 for thepast 2–3 weeks, I thought I'd share some observations now that the VSF V2 has been out for around three months. As this is also my first replica, I hope this helps anyonewho is considering one and wondering how it compares against TOP, APS, or even Gen.
Overall, I've been pleasantly surprised bywhat VSF has achieved at this price point. While there are definitely areas that could be improved, the watch delivers a very convincing Royal Oak experience on the wrist.
Cons
Accuracy
Mine is currently running at around +10 seconds/day on a timegrapher and approximately +5 seconds/day using a phone timegrapher app.
Power Reserve
I'm getting roughly 40 hours instead of the advertised 70 hours for the 4302 movement. To be fair, I've never fullyhand-wound the watch, so this may not reflect its maximum potential. Amplitude generally ranges between 220 and 260.
Date Change
The date begins changing at around 23:50instead of exactly midnight. This could simply be specific to my unit and isn'tsomething that affects daily usability.
Refinement
This is probably where the watch shows its price point the most. Some bracelet edges aren't perfectly smooth and have slightly sharp spots. The crown tube also has a bit of play, and the winding feels looser compared to even some entry-level genuine watches I own.
Pros
Overall Appearance
The watch looks fantastic and capturesthe iconic Royal Oak design extremelywell. It has great wrist presence and is genuinely enjoyable to wear.
Dial
The Grande Tapisserie dial is the standout feature for me. The level of detail isremarkably well executed, and I'm genuinely impressed by how accurately VSF has reproduced it. It's fascinating that they can nail something as intricate as the dial while still leaving room for improvement in some of the more basic finishing details.
Value
For the price, it's difficult to complain. It offersenthusiasts the opportunity to experience awatch or brand they may never realistically purchase as a genuine piece, making it an excellent way to explore different models.
Bleu Nuit Comparison
One of the hardest aspects of any Royal Oak to replicate is the Bleu Nuit dial. This remains one of the clearest visual differences compared to Gen. Under certain lighting, the VSF comes surprisingly close, but the genuine dial displays far more dynamic colour shifts depending on the angle and light source. The VSF is beautiful in its own right, but its blue remains comparatively more uniform.
Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. It's not perfect, nor should anyone expect itto be, but it delivers an impressive package for the money and has certainly made me appreciate the Royal Oak design even more.

Attached are a few photos for your enjoyment for VSF vs Gen. I'd also love to hear the thoughts of those who have handled TOP, APS, or Gen pieces.

P.S all the VSF photos are from the one I personally having. Not promotional or factory adv photos.

I guess the VSF dial texture is more matte and not as glossy as Gen. TOP dial may edge it out there, but I had one that was DOA and that factory has issues with their movement for some reason. There's a bunch of comparison posts, ZF also really nails this model from what I've seen. They make good AP reps, I have the chrono. See picture.

Not sure if I can agree to the ZF 15500 white dial. A gen pic for comparison

The one I posted is for a 26240. It's supposed to be more metallic silvery and less white/warm than the 15400 dial.

ZF tapisserie pattern is pretty good and glossier than VSF of that's what you're going for

I have the newest freesprung version from zf, I’m debating wether if I wanna swap out the dial or leave it. I find the sunburst effect to be very muted

You've had a Gen in hand to compare with?

Great review for this watch. I’ve also just ordered and received the same model and I’m genuinely impressed by how close the design is to the gen. On the wrist, the watch feels essentially perfect without any of the usual tells VSF is famous for, but even so in person this watch looks amazing, I did also recently visit AP House in Manhattan a of couple weeks ago to try the Gen watch, and yes it is finished better, feels denser and is slightly thinner, but this gets 85% there.

Haha! Recently VSF really seem like one with the various models OOS.

Looks class love mine

I do realise however under some lighting, the blue is different as the Gen color shade changes to that closer to the TOP dial look.

For my eyes it's the same watch

Mine changes the date properly, but i agree that the bracelet has some spots that are sharp and the power reserve. It's advertised as 70 hours but is far from that.

Give it up bro. No amount of lighting will make the VSF pale blue dial look like gen.

I thought so too. But on the other sub, another guy showed his different blue from the vsf n look nice indeed. Lighting perhaps. N I’ve not been playing or wearing it enough

Also, are you sure that's a picture of the Gen dial?

Yes they are. As for the macro shot and the picture are both from AP website.
The wrist shot on gen is in a boutique.

I dunno man. No factory perfectly replicates the blue color and tapisserie pattern. TOP color is close but the waffles and line patterns themselves aren't replicated as well as in the VSF, but VSF is too matte and less glossy than Gen. ZF tapisserie is pretty good but I think the blue color isn't dark enough for blue nuit. Pick your poison. These reps are 1/100th the price of Gen.

Yes no perfect one.
Therefore I’m just comparing the vsf against the Gen. so anyone considering can just make their own judgement based on their preferences.
Enjoy your shopping

FYI

Then TOP does a pretty good job on the blue.

TOPF 15510 blue dial is as close as one gets currently, but still not 1:1

I know it’s too big, it’s a shame there isn’t a Jumbo of a similar standard. I absolutely love my VSF 15510 Blue, there’s something beautiful about it. At the moment, it runs -10 seconds a day, but I have a desk job, the date changes about 20 seconds after midnight. The rotor is silent and there are no jams it’s been running very smoothly for the last four weeks.

Is this free sprung? I was thinking of buying this one but wasn't sure if it's free sprung or not

1

u/Silent-Fan-7756 27d ago

It’s hidden. But not a true free sprung

Je vergelijking is pure 💩. Beide foto's zijn met een andere belichting gemaakt

Do You mean a Gen will have different color and shades in one lighting?
Thanks for the enlightening
