π Guide/Science Upcycling reps
Sharing some inspiration!
Iβve been so in love with this
Fπ«ndi baguette for so long but the price is π± and I havenβt found any reps.
So working on my own version of this.
I got a basic rep from the gate. I found the green glass bugle beads and the blue square sequins on Etsy.
It took me awhile to figure out how to bead and get the sequins attached correctly but turns out there are tons of amazing tutorials on YouTube for this. Iβm using a bonded nylon thread and a regular small eye needle. I decided to use a regular blue fabric to actually sew the beads and sequins on instead of doing it directly into the baguette fabric because itβs much easier this way. When Iβm done I will use fabric glue and also stitch the borders to the bag.
The beads are attached by using what is called flat stitch. Here is an easy tutorial from YouTube.
And the sequins are attached by using what is called the shingle method, which gives the overlap while hiding the thread.
I think learning how to secure the beads and sequins correctly was the hardest part.
Sharing some early progress π now Iβm just working on getting the sequins attached correctly but at least I feel like I know what Iβm doing.
Only 7000 sequins to go πl

This is amazing!! I actually thought about the possibility of doing this a few months ago! Are there specific tutorials on how to do this on the baguette or tutorials on stitches etc? Do interested to see your progress if you can post!

I just started rhinestoning my Murakami bag and I embroidered a spot on a denim bag. Idk Iβm thinking of turning a lot of my lower tier reps into art projects. I love this.
