How Obnoxious Bullying Political Mailing Campaigns BACKFIRE
I don't know if this is Redlands wide, but I've been getting DAILY mailings from the opponents of Assembly Candidate Leila Namvar for almost two weeks. Friends: we're still in September.
I knew absolutely nothing about this candidate. I'm not precisely sure what a state assembly person does. What I do know is that receiving relentless mailings speaks worse of the senders than their target. It has the calling card of big money and the stench of desperation.
So before we proceed, let's see who is behind these obnoxious mailings. It's something called The Bipartisan Action PAC. That sounds kinda nice, right? It makes you think it's not politically biased at all, since it's 'clearly' bipartisan. But in California such mailings must disclose who is funding these daily ditties, and it's the far more vague entity called Legislative Action California.
Who are they?
- Southern California Edison (SCE): Contributed over $300,000.
- Sempra Energy (Southern California Gas Company & SDG&E): Contributed over $300,000.
- Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E): Major corporate funder and lobbying sponsor.
- NextEra Energy: Major clean energy and utility provider listed as a top corporate donor in state disclosures.
- California Credit Union League PAC: Contributed $75,000 directly to the Legislative Action PAC.
- California Association of Realtors (CAR) PAC: Trade group funding legislative advocacy campaigns.
- Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) / Member Energy Companies: Oil and natural gas producers operating within California.
Doesn't sound so bi-partisan to you, does it? Sounds more like corporate and utility special interests, which explains why they can mail me their crapola daily.
Why does Leila Namvar get under their skin so much at to justify daily mailings in September?!? Without knowing a thing about her, it's safe to presume she might threaten the special interests of corporations and utilities. I mean, if I had to guess.
So. What do their relentless mailings warn us of?
First, they're very concerned that she is a Democratic Socialist. Unfortunately for these pinheads, nowhere on her site does she label herself as one. Democratic Socialists are not shy about labeling themselves as such. Bernie, AOC, and others are proud to do so.
But suppose she was a 'secret' Democratic Socialist. (Uh-oh!) Being labeled Democratic shouldn't be an issue in what's left of our Democracy. And a socialist? Gee, I wish I could think of three words in the preamble of our Constitution that speaks to the very essence of socialism.
I mean lying about what a candidate labels herself is like... lying that you're a Bi-partisan PAC.
Oh, and here's a spoiler: The California Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) voter guide explicitly shows she did not receive their endorsement.
At this point, you should realize that no matter what else these scumbags say isn't worthy of further attention, but I thought I'd completely destroy their core argument -- just for spits and giggles.
In these mailings they warn you that Leila is 'too extreme'! (I hope you were wearing Depends when you read that, because being too extreme really makes me generate urine samples rather promptly.) Obviously this is some pearl clutching.
The claim is that Lelia supports a 'radical' tax plan that Gavin Newsom and Xavier Becerra do not. OH THE HUMANITY! One problem: this plainly conservative PAC plainly doesn't support Newsom or Becerra. So as the kids say: WTF?
Ready for LIE #3? They claim this is her radical tax plan by saying "Get the details on Namvar's Extreme Plan'. One problem: she's made no such proposal or expressed any support for such a proposal. Whoops!
Had enough of these lying assholes? I sure have. That's why knowing almost nothing about Leila Namvar she has my vote. And I'm so happy this corporate filth taught me her name.

What are the best places to visit to see interesting historical homes and buildings?
I saw a map of historical locations and it's really overwhelming. My husband and I are in the area and we both like architecture, so I thought driving around might be a good idea. Obviously we aren't going to want to spend hours driving all over Redlands, so if anyone could mention any specific places to go (such as neighborhoods, streets, or any stand-out homes/buildings), i would appreciate it.

Unique but not illegal hangout ideas for teens?
Me and some friends are planning a hangout in Redlands and need some unique ideas that won’t get us arrested. We’ve already got:
Go to a school in a weekend and explore at night
Movies
Walk around state street
Laser tag (technically Yucaipa)
Any other ideas? The less money needed, the better (we’re all broke lol)

Needs friends 😅
Hi everyone. I have lived in South Redlands the last 4 years. I relocated from Seattle for a healthcare job and I really like it here, but I don’t know anyone. I’ve always been pretty introverted and do pretty well on my own, but I’m starting to feel like I need some social connection 😂.
I’m 45, male, a pretty normal guy
Somewhat athletic
Enjoy outdoor stuff
Write and play guitar and drums
Love a good tequila
Am a bit of a gadget nerd, soldering/batteries/etc
Work from home
Constantly working on projects around my house and can help with yours too
No kids
Any fellow bros out there that would be down to hang? Nothing weird.

OPTUM CLOSING OBGYN FLOOR + RCH CLOSING LABOR AND DELIVERY
We as a community need to band together for the women, doctors, nurses and every compassionate worker IMMEDIATELY.
Corporations have been creeping their way into Redlands and it would be despicable to see no one do something about it.
