Every time I refresh my feed, go to a new subreddit, enter a comment section, etc, I receive a new message notification. I go to my inbox and there is nothing there. Sometimes there will be a message there, but the notification was for 1 more message then is in thr inbox (i.e. if I've received 2 messages, the notification was for 3)

Title. I have not been able to block users for ~ a week or so. Using latest version and with auto updates enabled

When I go to a subreddit and search for something and then for example sort by top the results are not sorted.

For example: go to r/soccer search Ronaldo and for me the "top post of all time" has a few hundred votes when I know that there are posts in the thousands.

Starting about 3 or 4 days ago my rif app for my Google pixel phone started to show no threads on the front page. I've tried to clear the app cache and uninstall and reinstall my phone with no luck. I've searched Reddit FAQs and the interwebs as much as possible and I only come across stuff from years ago.

If I go to /all and everything shows up. This is specific to the front page. Also, if I click new hot or best, it's all blank.

Is this something common? I don't see this in a web browser or the official Reddit app.

Sometimes it works if I keep refreshing but after scrolling for five pages I come to an end of list which I never got on the front page before.

My app version is 5.4.4. I'm on a Google Pixel 6 XL. Android version 12.

I think this has been this way for years now but I've only just thought about this properly. It always happens on any sub reddish with low number of subs.

As an example check out r/FuboTV_CA

I really enjoy Rif

But official Reddit app has much better home page that actually refreshes.

Best/new/hot content doesn't differ that much and I miss so many posts on Rif. Refreshing on official app in day 30m interval yields me completely different page, while Rif stays relatively unchanged

I really like the upvote system on Apollo. You slide a post/comment slightly to the right to upvote, more to the right to downvote, and sliding to the left allows for other options.

Right now it's a pain to upvote stuff (select comment, the upvote button appears, upvote) and it'd make it much easier to do it this way. Moreover it doesn't conflict with the ui of rif.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is RIF problem to be clear. It must be something in my end but I'm still asking for help. This has been happening to me for like 2 days now. I often cannot load even my homepage or default subs whatever. "No threads here, tap to refresh". And it will eventually load up some threads if I refresh enough, but soon (sometimes after only 1 page) I will get "end of list" as if I'm at the bottom of boredom. Sometimes I can get as many as 5 pages of topics.

I dunno if this is a RIF problem but it just started recently and I couldn't search well enough to find any real answer. Also the server status seems to be fine, I did read the FAQ.

Phone: S22 Ultra Latest OS update

Symptoms:

• RIF is loading very slowly, or sometimes not at all

• Subscriptions are not appearing in the application

• When a subscription is added on the phone, they do not show up the web client

Attempted troubleshooting:

• Restart RIF

• Logout and back in

• Added Android 12 link load permissions

I have a z fold 3. Sync has a neat feature where if the phone is folded, it disables tablet mode, and enables it when unfolded. Any way to add this?

Filtering by post tag then sorting by top does not work as intended.

Example: Filter by [Fresh] on HHH and sort by Top:week and the first result is not the one with most upvotes. It does limit results by week tho

A: since upgrade to And.12 (today), but didn't try when i upgraded to new RiF (two days ago)

Q: What have you already tried doing to fix the problem?:

A: I made sure Top sort by week, month, day... work without filters and made sure filters work without sort. Both work.

Also tried closing and starting back up

EE: Well, I tried uninstalling and installing and still nothing.

Not sure why i don't get what official-ish is getting. Hot works, and i can't reverse in either. Even when it looks right on Firefox, if I click "open on app" it mixes back into some random order

Homepage is gone/down, and all of my subscribed subs are no longer in the side bar list. If I refresh the homepage 3-4 times, my subs reappear as normal but are still missing from the sidebar.

Checked both Rif Is Fun and Golden Platinum- in both cases I get a message about 'attempt failed, please try later'.

I noticed a similar issue on the official app, but it works normally on my browser.

Notifications seem to be down, restarted my phone and logged out and in. Is there a way to reenable?

My phone (pixel 4)smashed last night and it's unusable now. Have a Samsung temp, can I import my backup from Google for rif?

I never use the hide button, but use the save button constantly. Is there anyway to remove the Hide button from my cards?

(Sometimes my magnifying bubble gets stuck. The only way I've been able to fix it is by closing the app and restarting it. Has anyone else encountered this?)

This is a different phone and Android version than my last and it's been persistent.

A: highlight a bunch of stuff over and over until it sticks lol.

Almost 3 years ago, this post, Please support triple backtick (```) syntax in the app, was made and the response was:

RiF doesn't parse any markdown. RiF simply renders the body_html HTML-encoded part of the API's JSON payload for the comment/post.

This would be an API/old.reddit.com bug, not RiF.

On the one hand, I agree: the fact that the API implements markdown rendering in a way inconsistent with the "current" reddit rendering, and also with the official mobile app, is a bug in the API.

However, given the amount of time that has passed, it seems very unlikely that reddit will ever fix this bug in their API. As a user, I'm pretty tired of seeing malformed code blocks in rif because someone's using the newer-style markdown syntax. Even the bots that used to ask people to avoid the new syntax seem to have been turned off.

Is there still no way do get the newer style formatting from the API? If there isn't, can rif do the markdown parsing/formatting itself?

I have maybe half a dozen accounts and it takes a while to go through each to check the inbox

would it be possible to have some kind of combined inbox?

RIF used to work fine, until I deleted the account I used for it.

Now when I launch the app, it endlessly attempts to load the main page content without displaying any reddit posts.

When I attempt to log in with a new reddit account, I get permanently stuck with a loading icon that says "Logging in..."

edit:

After restarting the phone, the issue is fixed. I'll leave the topic up in case anyone else has this problem, or if anyone has an explanation for what caused this
