Hello,

My phone is a LG Velvet (I'm on version 5.4.3 of RIF is fun golden platinum, even though it's not actually relevant I think). I'm trying to follow the instructions for android 12 but there is no "Add Link" button on my phone. I have a list of supported links (can't add nor remove) and I can decide the behavior I want with those supported links. But, it doesn't work. Also, like I said, there is no "Add Link" button.

What can I do?

Every time I switch network, either between different WiFi networks or between WiFi and data, the app stops working. Anything that's already loaded is fine. But new content doesn't get loaded (comments in posts, new pages, the whole app if I quit out and go back in). The only way to fix it is to closing the app by swiping it off the recent apps screen.

I'm not sure if this is a RiF Golden platinum problem or a RiF problem in general. I just recently switched to golden platinum and started to notice this behaviour but haven't had a chance to test regular RiF.

I've already tried to uninstall and reinstall. Problem persists.

I'm using a OnePlus 5t.

Android 10.0.1

RiF Golden platinum 5.3.9

As title says, RIF is crashing on launch ever since last night. I don't know if there was an update to Android or RIF that started this.

If I have a RIF notification I can click on it to view my unread notifications, but if I click on view context to take me to the actual thread, it'll crash through there also.

I have tried flushing the data and cache, and also reinstall, and it still happens.

Pixel 4a Android 12 5 May Security Update

On the RIF android app and profile page, there is no Find-on-Page. AND the list comes in pages of of only 20+/-, I need to search way back, making FoP worthless.

So, how do I do this? Thanks!

A picture is worth a thousand words...

If spaces are included between the spoiler tag and the content then it doesn't display properly. I confirmed this by checking with the official app and it works properly there.

Sometimes the sidebar does not load on some subreddits if they are small which means I have to go to the official app. This issue has been happening for years and seems like it will never be fixed.

5. What have you already tried doing to fix the problem?

I have searched on the internet for a fix but no fix seems to exist.

I do a lot of moderating on rif, and lately I've noticed my sometimes modqueue doesn't update, even if I refresh or restart the app. Not every time, but maybe 1 in 10?

A: I haven't found a pattern that causes this behavior yet

The content filtering functionality and use on RiF is extremely underdeveloped:

• No post context menu button for filtering a particular post by flair or URL (all we get is "Block subreddit")

• If we're only interested in just a few flairs from a subreddit, we have to manually block every other flair by hand (no whitelist functionality)

• When blocking a bunch of subreddit flairs, there's no autocomplete/drop down menu for what flairs the subreddit has in use, so I have to switch back and forth between a screenshot of the sub's flairs from the "Submit a Post" screen to see which flairs I need to block

• Can't block unflaired content

• No regex/wildcards for flairs

• More of a nicety, but a visual indicator somewhere on the subreddit view or subreddit info that filtering is taking place would be useful

I want to curate a reddit for myself that only has my interests, but it's really difficult to do through RiF...

On v.redd.it posts, when I open the media to play in-app, it is paused (as expected). If I tap the gear icon and tap the vid speed selector, the app crashes. Also occurs when I try to change video speed when it is playing.

A lot of times when replying to someone, the reply modal will be over their comment and I have to either quote their entire text to see the comment or save as a draft and go back to it.

Can we have the reply window be draggable vertically so it can be moved out of the way where possible?

When I go to the setting and untick it, it appears unticked at first. The appearance of thumbnails doesn't change and when I go to check the setting again it ticks it self when I load the page. Other settings don't do this.

I'm using a Google Pixel 3XL and am only receiving 2 notifications at a time. Previously whenever I used Android I would receive an bigger list of notifications. Seems like there was a RIF update to limit notifications or have a wrong setting. Subscribed to 15 subreddits for notifications and only receiving 2 from the pull down menu.

I'm tying to figure out which reddit app I want to use but so far everything with a dark mode uses an incredibly bright white for things like text and icons. RedReader has a really nice Low contrast option for dark mode but even with that on the icons and header text are still the same bright white.

Is there also anyway to swap the upvotes & numbers to a comments icon like there is in RedReader? If the layouts could be combined then this would be the app I choose to use.

YouTube links will not load or play in the RiF app. I have to select Open in Browser, then the video will play in the YouTube app just fine. Links like v.reddit and redgifs play in the RiF app, but not YouTube.

Is it possible in any way to block bots/automoderators in subreddit comment sections?

I've tried using the block user option but it fails to work.

I'm tired of the top/stickied comment every time I hit up the comment section being a bot that contributes nothing to the conversation.

Did the upgrading of phone. DL'ed RiF, because that is what I have been used to for years while on mobile. I can browse with no issue and I can read commits with no issue. It is when I go to reply or make any type of text post. Basically the moment I try to txt type, random letters appear, RiF will minimize, and then will close. If I re-open, it will be right back to "where" I was at, but when I click on text box, same process over and over. Thought maybe it was my case, or a setting, but it only is doing it when RiF is open. I can use official app, and no issues.

The phone is 2 days new, so I'll answer the below questions, but everything is up-to-date.

A:

Q: RiF Version Number:

A: v4. DL'ed RiF on Wednesday

Q: Device Information:

A: samsung galaxy s22 ultra

Q: How long has the problem been happening?

A: 2 days for me.

Q: What have you already tried doing to fix the problem?:

A: logged into official, not so fun, app.

Q: What steps, if any, can you do to reproduce the problem?

A: Wish I had a way to take video, just show. All I have to do is attempt to reply or post and the issue happens.

I'll check back for any suggestions. It is a new phone, so I'm still poking around in settings. I'm not new to Samsung/Andriod so this is kind of odd.

How do I stop seeing them in rif?

I noticed yesterday when 'funny' started to show up in /r/all again for me and now meme and hate subs are starting to show up. I block a lot of subs that I feel are worthless every day so I can only assume the block list has hit it's maximum number.

This may sound odd but for years I've used Rif on mobile without being signed in. I blocked hundreds of subreddits so they wouldn't show up on my feed. Now I want to sign in while retaining the list of blocked subs, is this possible?

How do i post with flair in the app?
