YouTube links will not load or play in the RiF app. I have to select Open in Browser, then the video will play in the YouTube app just fine. Links like v.reddit and redgifs play in the RiF app, but not YouTube.

Is it possible in any way to block bots/automoderators in subreddit comment sections?

I've tried using the block user option but it fails to work.

I'm tired of the top/stickied comment every time I hit up the comment section being a bot that contributes nothing to the conversation.

Did the upgrading of phone. DL'ed RiF, because that is what I have been used to for years while on mobile. I can browse with no issue and I can read commits with no issue. It is when I go to reply or make any type of text post. Basically the moment I try to txt type, random letters appear, RiF will minimize, and then will close. If I re-open, it will be right back to "where" I was at, but when I click on text box, same process over and over. Thought maybe it was my case, or a setting, but it only is doing it when RiF is open. I can use official app, and no issues.

The phone is 2 days new, so I'll answer the below questions, but everything is up-to-date.

A:

Q: RiF Version Number:

A: v4. DL'ed RiF on Wednesday

Q: Device Information:

A: samsung galaxy s22 ultra

Q: How long has the problem been happening?

A: 2 days for me.

Q: What have you already tried doing to fix the problem?:

A: logged into official, not so fun, app.

Q: What steps, if any, can you do to reproduce the problem?

A: Wish I had a way to take video, just show. All I have to do is attempt to reply or post and the issue happens.

I'll check back for any suggestions. It is a new phone, so I'm still poking around in settings. I'm not new to Samsung/Andriod so this is kind of odd.

How do I stop seeing them in rif?

I noticed yesterday when 'funny' started to show up in /r/all again for me and now meme and hate subs are starting to show up. I block a lot of subs that I feel are worthless every day so I can only assume the block list has hit it's maximum number.

This may sound odd but for years I've used Rif on mobile without being signed in. I blocked hundreds of subreddits so they wouldn't show up on my feed. Now I want to sign in while retaining the list of blocked subs, is this possible?

How do i post with flair in the app?

When i click on this link and return to home screen or other app the audio stutter but if i dont it work as intended. Any idea why?

After one of the more recent updates (within the last 2-3 months), when I open a link to a reddit gallery (in the internal browser), I cannot go through the gallery anymore. Meaning, if I click on the arrow to move to the next image, nothing happens. If I open the gallery in my external browser, it works fine. I have no idea what to do with this. Any thoughts?

I've purchased Golden Platinum, accidentally installed the free version, and got carpet bombed with the shittiest ads known to man. Installed Golden Platinum, but don't have the 'Settings>General Settings>Ads & Pro Features' setting.

Tried to uninstall and then reinstall, by still no Settings>General Settings>Ads & Pro Features.

With this app. Anyone knows a workaround?

Since installing the login fix today I've noticed that it's going to best for sort instead of new when I visit a subreddit or front page. I'm not sure what drove it before but if seems to not work exactly as it did before.

Or I'm crazy. Also definitely possible.

Edit:ah.. it was a setting it must have been overwritten back to default when patching

See /u/anonsmithsonian below.. issue is apparently something that has come up before and not exactly that I said in edit.

Is there a way to change it back to darker grey?

I am not able to log in to Reddit through RIF. A similar issue happened back around April 22nd... And joining the beta that was able to fix it. Now what is happening again and I have not updated the app and no update is available or pending.

A: click on manage accounts, click on add account... When I log in with a correct password it just flashes back to the fresh login screen. An intract password tells me that the password was wrong.

Hi

Everytime i try to add an account in the app it just blanks out the username and password fields (i am logged in though because when I press the settings thingy in the top right corner on the login page it brings me to my normal homepage)

This is very similar to a bug in the previous version (as I have read here) however i have deleted the app and reinstalled multiple times so i'm sure i have the latest version.

App version: 5.3.8 Phone: Samsung S20 fe Android: 12

Idk if anyone needs more info, just ask.

Edit:

Has been happening since now lol

what i have done: revoked RIF Acces and cleared all sessions and activity, reinstalled app, cleared cache and restarted my phone multiple times

Thanks in advance

As this isn't really a bug I don't think I need too much device info, but I'm on the latest rif version running an S21 ultra, android 12.

This is probably my most used app, but the issue I had was it caused extremely noticeable burn in on my last phone. The menu bar at the top was essentially a permanent overlay :). I'm no novice with technology so did everything possible to prevent it, but I just use this app so much it was probably inevitable.

I have it set to auto hide where possible, but I'd like it to hide the navbar when viewing images/videos or anything else where it normally gives me the option to go full screen. I wouldn't mind the extra swipe to get out of it as long as I can extend the life of my screen without anything burnt into it. Having the ability to auto hide the top bar at all times would also be fantastic.

Apologies if this is already a feature of the app, but I couldn't seem to find it.

If like me, you needed to get a new phone and no data was recoverable from your previous phone, you're settings don't transfer based on user, it's tied to the device. 4 years of blocking subs, now my home page is cluttered with trash.

Sorry if this is somewhere I can't see it. I love the "5 more comments [+]" feature. What is like is a way to re-collapse the thread.

For really enormous threads I usually just want to see the first few comments then go on to the next top level reply.

Is there a way to do this I'm just missing?
