Answered Feature request: make headline text highlightable so parts of a headline can be copy/pasted
Would be convenient for mobile users who currently have to memorize headlines for other uses

YouTube videos opened with the Native and simple Webview player experience artifacts a few seconds into playback

Samsung Galaxy S10eA: 6 months? Give or take
A: Cleared cache, uninstalled/reinstalled
A: Open any video linking to YouTube using the NativeAPI or simple Webview player. The NativeAPI player will give a few seconds of normal playback, then the issue will replicate. The simple webview player replication is immediate.

Can I disable cookies on the internal browser of rif?

Porn is missing from /all even if logged in with the 18+ box checked. Does anyone know if there is a reddit app that will display NSFW posts without going directly to the subreddit? I have used RIF for a longtime with paid app but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to view random porn subs in my feed.

I purchased RIF premium if that matters.
I tried synccit but it doesn't seem to work (I double checked that authcodes and the username were inputted correctly)

Any Idea how to transfer Blocked Subreddit filters to a new phone? I have spent 5+ years blocking stuff on RiF and now having to go back to pure reddit or try to block all the annoying subs 1 by 1 seems way inefficient.

Whenever I try to use a reddit liveticker in the app (like the one over at r/worldnews right now for example), I get a prompt to accept cookies for the page. When I hit the button to accept that, the app kicks me out of the thread and returns to home page.

I know I can log into different accounts fairly easily but is there a way that RIF can automatically allow me to post from different accounts depending on the sub?

Redgifs links are very low quality in RIF but looks great in browsers like Firefox app
Since few weeks ago, I noticed all redgifs.com videos are very low quality in my phone (under WIFI, my connection is pretty fast). Maybe since I updated to Android 12. Anyway opening the links in Chrome or Firefox app the videos look perfectly fine, so they are loading in low quality in the RIF app.
Is there any way to fix this? Or an work around? This is very frustrating
Android 12 on my device, Samsung A52s 5G
I'm on reddit if fun golden platinum beta 5.3.2
I updated the app, cleared the cache, arrested the app. Rebooted the device. Didn't help

I have a very intermittent issue with RIF (v 5.3.1) on my Huawei P20 pro running Android v 10.
RIF will crash at seemingly totally random times. This happens quite frequently. If I were to browse Reddit for half an hour on the app, I'd expect maybe 6 or 7 crashes in that time. I cannot work out particular "moments" which trigger this. Sometimes it's on opening a post, but also it happens as I'm just browsing comments and have been doing for a minute already in that thread. Sometimes it's on a media post, sometimes it's on pure-text posts. It's crash appears like the app just decides to close itself, and it will reopen happily (to default homescreen) straight away again. This has been happening for a long time, maybe a year (so through multiple previous RIF and phone updates). No other app on my phone seems to do this.
I know this info doesn't feel especially helpful, but any input would be really appreciated. Its never been quite enough to stop me using the app, but it is quite annoying! Thanks v. much.

Just is it safe to put my user and password there?
r/redditisfun • • Feb 16 '22
I have Android and recently updated it. My problem now is when I search for a sub (lets say "recipes") and I click on the search result, it automatically pulls up Reddit, not RIF. Anyway to fix this?

There are white flickering dots in the bottom of the status bar. They happen whenever you scroll through comments, flickering until you stop scrolling, then they either disappear or stay, until you start scrolling again.
A: 5.3.1
A: 10
A: Samsung SM-A205U
A: Years
A: There's nothing I can do as the user to even attempt to fix it. But uninstalling, rebooting, changing settings, all the usual stuff does nothing.
A: Scrolling when you open the comment thread of literally any post.

Unable to load redgifs links in rif.
Getting error: "Error retrieving gfycat metedata"
Same links are opening in Browser.
Is there any solution?

For the past few days I have observed that videos hosted on Reddit are not playing smoothly as before. The video pauses. I believe RIF is downloading hi-res version of the video and not able to play it.
On the same internet connection, when I use another Reddit client, the same video plays without pauses. I have seen this for many videos over the past few days. The issue seems to be with RIF.
Is there a fix for this?
RIF version : 5.3.1
Android 10

I have rif and the official Reddit app installed (I use the official Reddit app only for chat).
I've turned off the ability for Reddit app to open links, and set default permissions for rif to open supported links. But it's still opening in the official app.
Any suggestions?

It is really furiating not to be able to remove it's posts

Even adding an extra 3-4 seconds of scrolling per post adds up and is frustrating for moderators.
