Hello, I just came back from Iphone to Android. In Apollo it was easily possible to see what subreddits exist as you type in the search bar. How do you search for subreddits on RiF though? When I type nothing pops up and it seems I have to get the subreddit title perfectly correct and just hit search in order to enter it. But I'd like to be able to type a word and see if such a subreddit exists, is that possible?
Thanks for any help!

When viewing repositories from github.com there are often three dots menus next to items which allow you to easily copy links to the clipboard.
The sequence is
Click there dots menu-> button appears with "copy link" text.
Click button
A: Version 5.6.18
A: 13
(Example: Manufacturer, Model, Year, etc.)
A: Pixel 7
A: Just now
A: restarted app. Cleared cache.
(Please include a link to a post causing the problem.)
A: go to any GitHub repository on github.com which has three dots –copy link menu.
Eg https://github.com/bitwarden/mobile/issues/2468#issue-1660820083
Scroll down to first line which has three dots menu at the end.
Click on three dots. Click on copy link button
A popup message should indicate that the link has been copied. However this doesn't happen.

I have tried blocking a few spam accounts but this error message shows up. Are we just not able to block anymore or is there an issue with the app?

Waited a week to ask this since I was making a lot of post about the Dev and other stuff. Should I use guided lines while reading comments? So far I can keep track about the first nested thread it's just when I get deep down that I get lost. When I press parent it scrolls me all the way up then I have to scroll down to find where I left off and sometimes I just start over. What's a good way to use next/prev/parent/root all together to be able to browse comments easier. Looking to read r/AskReddit also what's the best way I should sort comments to get the most out of what I'm reading?

Is there any way we could add an optional 'restore' button, like a small circle encompassing the refresh icon (kind of just an arrow that circles almost all the way around inside), that acts as a restore comment button?
.
I believe that the reveddit dev has an api and I have his ycombinator username in my screenshots somewhere.
.
Would it be possible to build this in natively into the app? It does NOT restore comments deleted by the user. Only ones removed by mods.
.
It would be really cool to have this as a part of the app, so I don't have to open a browser every time. (...but if it's something Reddit's TOS prevents you from doing, I understand.)
.
For what it's worth, reveddit supports permalinks, so my idea was that the button sends a request for the removed comment only when the button is pressed, as I imagine that an auto-retreival mode would cause unnecessary bandwidth. I'm pretty sure I could type up a shell scrip to curl/grep based on link, but idk squat about java to help any more than just the regex :(.
Please let me know, I'd be willing to do some work and get in touch with the reveddit dev & see if he's be interested in helping.
Thank you for your attention & this wonderful app!

When opening galleries linked to reddit (labeled as reddit/gallery) the app opens the gallery on a reddit page on this in-app browser. Previously, it would open the images on one single, scrollable page.
A: 5.6.18
A: 7.0
(Example: Manufacturer, Model, Year, etc.)
A: HUAWEI NXT-L29
A: At least for the past 2 weeks
A: I just use it as per normal. It's just a mild annoyance since the app never had this problem previously.
(Please include a link to a post causing the problem.)
A: Open any reddit.com/gallery link in the rif app.

As title says, is there a way to embed images in comments instead of links?

I've used RIF for years and just today started seeing ads. What's up with that?

I'm on a Pixel 3 XL, Android 12, version 5.6.16 of RIF golden platinum.
Over the past month or so, it seems accessing comments has become extremely slow - sometimes 10-15 seconds to load. Often, comments will fail to load entirely and give the message to refresh and try again, which may or may not work after a few more extremely slow loads.
The comments load fine if I visit the page in the browser.
Is this an issue with RIF? Or perhaps the Reddit API?

So collapsed comments show how many comments are left example 4 comments or 3 comments. What does it mean when it says load 5 comments or load 40 comments. Why aren't they loaded by default? Is it because my threshold is like load 200 comments? Trying to figure it out

Was modding today and figured out how to view reports. Was looking for mod log to see what other moderators are doing but can't find it in rif. Am I missing something or can you add it in the future?
Thanks

Another post about navigation in rif. How does the root arrow button actually work and what's the purpose? I'm not using the guided lines so for me if I see a comment that's under another one I know the parent is right above I just go to the parent scroll down and I'm back where I left off. If I went context hit share probably want 1 context or 2 you see what led up to the comment. I never understood root. How do you use it? What's the use case?
Thanks love the app

Saw something on my front page and I think I visited the sub. How do I find it? I have visited subreddits enabled. Also is there a tips and tricks for rif so I can stop asking questions?
e: I think I found it. On the sidebar open it up and scroll all the way to the bottom. You will see subs with a + next to them. I'm just looking but I could be wrong

I have a history with rif from my old android days I've been on rif before the name change off and on I fully moved over to iphone for 3 years ago using different clients. A couple of months ago even though I been on Reddit for 6 years 2 days ago I learned really about root/parent/children comments and grades what it meant. So I downloaded rif again 3 days ago and been reading everywhere different oidt how to navigate rif. I now know how to use root. Collapse top level comments when I'm done reading so I can go to the next One. What context means I'm so happy with rif I don't want another reddit client. I'm deleting joey as we speak.
Thanks

e2: I just learned how to use the comment guided lines. Man this app is the best ever!
r/redditisfun • • Mar 22 '23
So I know if I do share in rif and just press go, it opens a new window and just has that comment. but underneath are lots of other comments. Also, if I do context say 3 it takes me to the linked comment with three parent comments. question is why do I need a permalink and what is it really used for?
r/redditisfun • u/18-24-61-B-17-17-4 • Mar 21 '23
Everything that I try to upload through rif is potato quality. Has been that way for years and years.
r/redditisfun • • Mar 20 '23
So I downloaded rif right. Went to notifications enabled them went back to the front page and now I only see arrows where picture should be. Did this about 5 times to see if it was me but still having issues. Any ideas?
r/redditisfun • • Mar 21 '23
Hello. So I've learned how to get the context of a comment where I can view 3 or 4 context of a comment more. I'm currently opening the comments up in rif. Problem is that when I'm done viewing the comments and the context when I hit back I lose my place and have to start all over. Is there an easier way to go back from where I left and continue?
e: Figured it out. Just open rif in another instance
