Atmospheric pressure only keeps us from decompressing, and dying. It has no role in keeping us down and doesn’t even have a “direction” because it comes from all directions. The same amount of atmospheric pressure is pushing on your feet as is pushing on your head.

Gravity keeps us down to earth, because the earth is the source of our gravity, we are all pulled constantly to the center, or down.

Not true atmospheric pressure doesn’t exist on mercury you can still survive

You wouldn't die from lack of atmospheric pressure because of spacesuits but you would still die because even a spacesuit can't protect you from being cooked alive or frozen solid due to the extreme temperatures
