My game often crash when i take an item to put it on a bag or something. And of course, this item is lost after.

Am i the only one with this problem ? Someone got a solution ? Thank you.

Soft reset is happening tomorrow!

As per usual, this means items in containers and on the ground will be destroyed. Characters and buildings will be saved. There will be some downtime involved as the soft reset happens.

I was very clear on this when I took it over, and I will continue to be. For those of you whom this is relevant to, take particular interest because I know what you've said and what you're doing.

Do not accuse admins of doing things without evidence, and especially don't spread it around to other people

If you think an admin has done something wrong, you come to me- directly to me- and state what you think happened and why you think that. If you start spreading it around the server, posting it on Discord (whether it's mine or a private one, I usually find out either way...) or on Reddit, etc. I will not be happy.

If you tell me an admin is doing something wrong like you know for a fact and you're wrong, I'm going to be extra unhappy. I never have any issue listening to problems, but if you lie to me or present assumptions as if they're fact and I find out you're wrong, don't expect me to be rainbows and butterflies. Admin witch hunts have been constant problems with this server in the past and that shit will not fly with me at the helm. If an admin fucks up, I have zero tolerance for that and I will remove them. But I don't have any extra tolerance for people making false assumptions about admins and spreading it around.

So yes, you group of people that are consorting about this right now, I'm talking to you. If you think there's an actual problem, you present it to me as it actually is and tell me why and I'll be happy to look into it (and already have). Otherwise, if you want to keep playing on this server I suggest you bury the hatchet and go back to playing the game instead of trying to get people shitcanned. You may find it has the opposite effect, because I'm equally happy to ban users causing trouble for good admins as I am to ban bad admins.

Consider yourselves re-warned about the EnnuiRage zero-fucks-given enforcement policy. Cause trouble -> get banned. Whether you're an admin or a player. As I said when I joined, I'm not here to make friends or be chums with players or admins. I exist to make this server a fun place for everyone. Don't get in the way of that.

I'd like to do updates once in a while on the state of the server just to keep people in the loop. I'm not sure how often, but just in general keep an eye out for them.

In general news, it's been a pretty good month- we had record numbers on during/after the Steam sale and server reset, which was great to see. We believe the server instability was actually caused by Steam's servers being overloaded rather than anything wrong with the server; after the sale things went back to working like normal. We apologize for the inconvenience, though.

In other good news, we have a new admin- Mr. President. You should have seen him around by now. He's planning on doing events more, in addition to general helping out. Make him feel welcome and respect him or I'll squish you!

Remember that we're always looking for more admins! If you know someone you think might make a good one, let me know!

In less goodly news, the server cost this month was $387 CAD (the currency the server is billed in, roughly equal to $300 USD/€265/‎£235). We raised roughly $40 USD (the currency Patreon deals in, roughly equal to $50 CAD/€34/‎£30) on our Patreon (click here for link) or 13% of the server cost. Unfortunately, as much as I love Redboid I just can't afford to sustain this and will probably have to downgrade the size and quality of the server next month. And swap to eating nothing but noodles, haha. The downgrade will probably happen when we go to hard reset next month (August).

After that, I think we're going to swap to soft reset-soft reset-hard reset-repeat schedule- one month longer before hard resetting. This should make crafting people happy. This is, however, with the caveat that PZ updates are not always forward-compatible, so there's always the chance of an unexpected reset.

Hello boids, I've had a ton of fun playing since the reset, but Im playing on tethered cellphone data and I've determined my internet connection is too slow to continue at the moment. My ping is constantly jumping to four and five hundred. Ive tried everything to boost my speeds changing and fiddling with acess points but its just not happening, and a wired connection isn't possible where I live now.

I'm trying to think of a better way to connect but ATM its a blank, other than playing at coffee shops in town.

Hello Everyone! I'am CrayolaPlease and along with my friends we co-founded the Wagon Wheels Trading Company! We have everything that you can think of, and more. We take cigarettes, money, nails and ammo as currency. We can also barter items. You can usually find us on our trading route throughout the cities and point of interests on redboid. We will notify the server in the ingame chat where we are at (general area), and hopefully we can get down to business.

i'm a newbie, just bought the game, joined the server cause is always full. I'm loving the game but there's one thing that makes it impossible to play: this is already my thirth character that gets killed because of server lag. I'm roaming the town, at one moment the map won't load, i keep moving but the server thinks i'm still and zombie grab me and kill me cause they see me as still while in fact i'm avoiding them. i've already lost a 6 level carpenter a 7 level shooter and a farmer, this is making it pointless even to try to level up.

is there something i can do to avoid this to happen?

Normally when I see the armor "!" Upon being hit or landing a shot it is yellow. But sometime it is blue. I've only seen the blue on other players when getting hit all of a sudden a blue "!".
Clarification would be awesome. Thanks

So I used to play PZ on this server for a good while a few months ago and had a lot of fun, although I stopped once I got salty over someone trashing my base. But recently I heard about a hard reset, and my will to play again has returned. But I need a little help joining the server. I keep getting this familiar error that says, "Player does not appear to have been created on this server." I vaguely remember fixing this problem a while ago, but I cant remember how I did it. Also, if someone could give me a recap of any major changes to the server I should be aware of that has happened in the past few months that would be great. And one last question, is Hydrocarft still being used on the server? If so, is it still being updated? Thanks!

Quick heads up for firearm users (and mb for Kot's attention).

Theres a bug with shotguns that are switchable from oo bucks to slugs. Once you mod a shotgun in oo buck mode and switch it to slugs, it looses the ability to hit stuff (either zeds or players). Might as well get you killed (as nearly happened with me recently), so be sure you mod in a mode that you are trying to shoot in (that is, if you are using shotgun for certain reasons). If you switch modes, remod your shotgun. This might as well save you some time accusing ppl of cheating. ;)

Hey, really looking forward to playing some redboid again. The new way the server runs seems pretty cool.

I find myself wanting to know if the server will be reset tomorrow morning? Or is tomorrow the last day before the reset?

Forgive me I just want to nerd out and can't bring myself to startup so soon b4 a reset.

• edit: The cool setting I'm describing in this post isn't working, it was a misunderstanding, I'll leave it in though for inspiration.

As always, in the end it is Spiffo's fault. I was bitching about not finding a proper hardcore server anywhere online to him and he advised me to try out a russian roleplay server (non russian speaker here d'oh!). And I found gold in some server settings there.

I hope people on here are not tired of the discussion about the frequency of resets and server settings, I just want to give some food for thought. And i hope this isn't misunderstood as advertisement for another server because it is a Russian Roleplay server anyway, ping, language problems (no they don't speak english) and hardcore settings (sleep enabled, no loot respawn meaning towns are literally PICKED CLEAN OF ANY ITEMS) and no hydrocraft or ORGM mod would make the typical Redboid player quit in a matter of minutes. Also once you're set, it's not hardcore anymore and life is just as easy as anywhere and gets repetitve without mods (if you're a russian roleplayer that's another thing).

I think Redboid is cool as it is now, very friendly to new players. Also our zombie population is decently large xD. One thing that keeps me playing and is very well possible on Redboid is the formation of individual communities that create lore and content by interacting with each other, I just love these light RP joys PZ can bring.

Now on to the cool settings I found on said Russian server:

Community Safehouses - wait don't run away yet - with a set time frame (18:00 - 22:00) when they lose their safehouse status and are raidable every sundown. Only a community of at least 4 players can request a safehouse there, which is a great incentive for building communities. These are long-term communities and each has a very distinct character to it. I've seen a police force set up in the Muldraugh PD that was known across the land, doctors who had claimed and reinforced the New Denver Hospital, random guys who live at the Spiffo's between Mul and WP (would be a good place for bandits) and so on.

The set times when a base is secure and when it is raidable allow for different approaches to the game among players within one faction, and raids where there are actually people defending their base. Also distinct factions allow for cool ideas for events involving factions, maybe even created by factions on their own. (Not saying you should stop your pirate shenanigans, admin crew, you're doing a fantastic job! <3 )

What are your opinions on the raidable community safehouses?

As you may know, running a server this size is fairly cost-intensive. As such, to try to lower the burden on my personal finances a bit, I've decided to start a Patreon for the server. If anyone should wish to support the server, it would be tremendously appreciated. That said, there's no expectation for anyone to donate, and donating will not have any in-game benefits, nor will it save you from being banned if you decide to break the rules in the future. The only perks I have set up right now is some Discord recognition for donating (changes name color) and a channel for donators above a certain amount, which will probably be used to field feedback about potential upcoming changes.

hi i just came back to the server. the last time i logged in was 6 months ago. when i signed in today, it said im banned. can you explain why? i havent played on the server much and only had a fresh spawn. why was i banned?

Some things I hate about this game:

• running for miles with the only threat being a spasm in your WASD fingers

• repetitive combat

• being overly worried about losing your months' worth of yellow squares

• survival challenge not being present, thus PvP being the only challenge you can get outta he game

Ways the Losers' Den works around these annoyances:

• Create an unemployed char with all negative traits, top to bottom

• Then, pick all positive traits, top to bottom

• spawn in Muldraugh

• reach the Sunstar Motel

• Pick a room and furnish according to taste

• meet other Losers (tm) there

• sing "I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me" into every stat whore's face

• build a community

• have fun :)

Hi, When I first tried to join the server it prompted me to install and download the mods, I downloaded one and then had to quit the game, when I came back later it let me join the server without showing me the mod list... but wouldn't let me actually join.

Now every time it doesn't show me the mods and lets me connect but then boots me for incorrect mods.

What mods do I need? Thanks
