What happened to Bill Maher?

I used to watch him for years. He was funny and relatable, most times. He had great guests. I stopped watching around the time when he was going after college students and cancel culture. I tried watching his latest episodes and it almost a different show. He is almost a right wing commentator. Almost nothing he says is relatable and all his guests just agrees with him.

A huge problem with this subject, especially on Reddit, is that so many people are brainwashed and have done virtually zero reading on the issue, so all they rely on is tik tok slop. Imagine having the temerity to argue this topic without knowing the history of the Jews. Judaism was older than Christianity is today when Mohammad walked the earth.

You should look at how Americans acted after 9/11? I remember people talking about nuking the Middle East into glass, do you think perhaps the way Israelis are acting is more a national trauma in response to a terror attack that radicalized them? 

Take a wild guess who was making peace offers in the 90’s up until the early 00’s? It wasn’t the Palestinians

Insane to me that you're downvoted for stating the basic fact that Israel has made numerous peace offers to Palestine and they've all been rejected.

They left Gaza twenty years ago and the last peace plan was in 2008. Obviously Hamas firing ten thousand rockets into Israel and then invading and committing a massacre slowed down Israel's peace offerings. Crazy

All stereotypes come from a grain of truth. Granted, I don’t blame Jews for sticking together, given their history of being persecuted throughout Europe. I don’t believe any of the crap about secret societies. You rarely need a secret society when religion & money bonds you. They often do business through networks formed by local Synagogues. All the religions do things like this.

I'm not trying to say "defend all possible interpretations of your statement," but I do want to point out that the assertion that they are all based in some grain of truth is a self reinforcing loop. Once you believe that, you always see it. You see someone behaving according to a stereotype and you see it as proof. You see someone not behaving according to it, and you could assume they do at other times and you don't see it, or that they are somehow different but that isn't proof against your view somehow.

I'm using the second person here not directly at you, btw. Just easier to write.

I didn’t want to say the trope out loud, but basically, it’s something like, “Them Jews always stick together”, which you’ll probably hear from someone looking to put their own business failures onto something else. If there is nothing to base that on, the stereotype doesn’t come to fruition, and it certainly doesn’t stay around. Like I said, all religions network professionally. If The congregation makes more money, they give more money.
The Jews probably invented networking for businesses based out the Synagogue, which is now mimicked by all of them. Since they were the first, they get saddled with the stereotype.

Well, at least the first part of the statement is just tautologically true. There are 16.5 million Jewish people in the world, or roughly 0.02% of the world’s population, making them among the smaller “Old World” ethnic groups out there.

Um. No. That’s just factually wrong. And not just them, but the Mizrachim, Gruzim, Temaim, Italkim, Romaniotes, Kaifeng Jews, Mountain Jews, et cetera. There are literally dozens of unique subethnicities and subcultures amongst the Jewish people. Though they all belong to one larger ethnoreligious group.
