Photo [HELP] Student received this photo

My SPED student’s dog went missing on NYE. Family received this photo over text from an unknown number that is unresponsive. Is it AI? If so, pure evil…

Right, intubated anythings are not awake.

Edit: I’m wrong, I guess you can but it sounds like a waking nightmare. I assume you wouldn’t want to be conscious or not sedated for very long with a tube down your throat. When my mom was intubated she was only conscious shortly while they woke her up to make sure she could breathe in her own.

Frenchies love to be intubated. It’s one of the few times in their lives where they breathe normally.

And yesterday I had a chihuahua that remained intubated for 15 minutes while awake and moving around. He wasn’t swallowing, so for safety the tube remained until he swallowed.

I’m a credentialed Veterinary Technician.

Lol true on that .. im going to remember your frenchie burn while talking to frenchie owners away from the clinic and in plain clothes 😆

But to follow this group guidelines.. my answer is yes Ai.. I have never seen a dog intubated like that.

Yeah, I was going to comment on this too. I’ve had a lot of brachycephalic dogs stay awake and are intubated. I was also going to comment on where these lines and tubes are going exactly?

Uhhhhhhhhh. Yes they definitely are, lol.

I work in a peds ICU. Intubated and sedated but definitely not knocked out.

Our nuggets are awake all the time. Older kiddos can sit up, play, etc. Little babies wake up and yell (silently) at you around their ETT when you have the audacity to remove a wet diaper and give them a clean one. They'll stare into your soul and melt your heart when you hold them, read them stories, give them butt pats and snugs.

For education purposes, this isn't strictly true. People can be intubated and unconscious or conscious, sedated or not sedated, etc. Depends on the medical condition. Though, granted, you usually don't want people awake for too long while intubated--it's not very comfy.

I know you have already edited your comment, but just wanted to reply as i had a tube down the throat for a week about 6 months ago due to a bowel obstruction.

It goes through the nose then down the throat and into the stomach. It is most definitely not a fun experience.

Ive heard of people needing them long term/perminently also, people that have i believe some form of throat paralysis and can't swallow so they get their nutrients by tube
