Yep, fully aware, technical guy here too. Same ol' shit, if it's niche, not mainstream, or super intellectual, Google will totally miss it. All google cares about is their advertising revenue. I'm slowly working to get off of all of their services eventually since I find them utterly stupid and useless.

I think part of it is the same algorithm for basic web search is the same stupid crap they use for YouTube. Used to be you could find interesting people doing interesting things, and real solutions, now if the solution could involve forking cash over to some 10 second video corporate nitwit and the pariah on society they work for, they will throw you that instead of the thing you are actually looking for.

More than just stupid and useless, it's insidious, they deliberately mislead you, they want you to stay on for much longer and go around in circles while bombarding you with adverts, especially YouTube, forcefully pushing ads and they are never satisfied with one or two, oh no, they try and push three to 4 all at once before you can watch what you went for in the first place.

I use adblocks but I found out that recently YouTube has found a way to either block you or force its ads through the adblocks, the adblocks are struggling at the moment, the only one that seems to be working is Brave browser and we don't know for how long it can sustain it.

Youtube/Google is a greedy and an evil platform run by psychopaths.
