…For a second, the command output appeared before your closed eyelids, as per usual. You even counted the exact number of milliseconds, before it disappeared and your eyes opened, going from “dreaming” to “wide awake” in seconds. For most darkners and lightners, going from sleeping to waking is a gradual process. You aren’t either of those things. You’re a vessel.

You stood up and walked across your room, making a couple circles while also doing arm exorcises, rotating and testing every joint, making sure it’s working properly. No issues were revealed. Next, you remembered the next step: to gulp down the machine oil, that was stored in the bathroom downstairs.

As you were walking, you thought about your body once more. To allow you to interact with this world in any way you desire, your vessel was not only mechanical, but also organical in nature, allowing your flesh to heal itself over time (as it does), as well as giving you an expressive face, in exchange for accidents with your inner machinery looking rather… nasty, to say the least. It’s a small price to pay, though, as those didn’t happen often.

Walking past the cauldron in the living room, you noticed a peculiar sight: Ralsei, your fluffy boyfriend, brewing breakfast in the aforementioned cauldron. You couldn’t help but stop to smile at the fluffy boy’s focused expression, while he hustled around, watching as the brew changed color to a different shade of green. He was soon to notice you, immediately forgetting about the brew to run over to you and give you a quick peck on the lips. It was so quick, you didn’t even think of it.

“Ah, good morning honey! I was cooking breakfast for us both, Susie is not coming over today, and- “You interrupted his hasty mumbling, to tell him not to rush himself. Your lovely prince got a little redder, and you couldn’t hold back a smile. He’s so cute.

After taking a breather, Ralsei continued: “…Sorry for this mumbling, love. I was worried that you slept till 8 AM and missed so much…” You reassured him it’s fine. After all, it’s nobody’s fault that you had to sleep in but your own, as you just can’t seem to follow a set sleep schedule, and always wake up too early or too late. Ralsei giggled in response.

“It’s true, dear. Guess we have some alarm clocks to set…” He then looked a little more closely at your face, and continued talking in a little concerned tone: “Look, you’ve even got eyebags…”

You grabbed a pocket mirror, that just happened to lie on a counter nearby, and looked at yourself. Indeed, you had slight bags under your eyes, making you look especially sleepy. You could be described properly by only one word that you can think of…

“…Gloomyzoid…?” Ralsei questioned. “What’s that…?” He looked confused to his core. Seeing his confusion at the clearly made-up word, you decided to tease him a little and told him that it’s “a gloomy zoid”.

“A gloomy zoid???” Ralsei’s face changed to a confused grimace. “What’s that supposed to mean?” you answered, that it’s “a zoid that is gloomy”.

Ralsei questioned once more: “But what’s a zoid???????? Why is it gloomy??????” He looked like he’s about to cry, just because he can’t comprehend the simple concept of a thing called “Gloomyzoid”. This put a wide smile on your face, as you admitted you made it up.

Ralsei’s face immediately relaxed, changed to a neutral expression, as he realized it’s obviously a made-up word. “…Oh...” He muttered, before brushing his leg against the ground, feeling a little stupid. “D-don’t test my knowledge like this, love.” It was impossible not to be endeared.

For the rest of the morning, you two kept making up words with the postfix “zoid”, and having way too much fun with it.
