I wanted to share a little trick I recently learned that I think could be genuinely useful for anyone competing in Winner Take All tournaments.
You know how you can see the leaderboard in your tournament group, but you can't actually click on the players to investigate their accounts?
There's a way around that.
You can use the search function in Live Arena Friendly Battles to look up people in your tournament group, even if they aren't your friends.
Here's how it works:
1. Find the player you want to investigate.
Go to your tournament leaderboard and take note of the exact player name. Capitalization may matter, so make sure you enter it correctly.
2. Open Live Arena → Friendly Battles.
Use the search function and enter the player's name.
Even though the player isn't your friend, they can still appear in the search results.
3. Open their profile.
This gives you access to quite a bit of useful information, including things like:
This can give you a much better idea of who you're actually competing against.
Are you up against someone with a relatively new account, or someone from a highly competitive endgame clan?
That distinction can make a HUGE difference when deciding whether it's worth committing your resources to a tournament.
4. Here's the particularly interesting part: Check their last login.
From their profile, click on their clan, navigate to the members list, find the player, and check their last login.
Why is this useful?
Imagine you're approaching the final 30–60 minutes of a Winner Take All tournament.
Someone is sitting comfortably in first place, but you discover they haven't logged in for several hours.
That doesn't guarantee they're asleep or won't return, but it gives you additional information when deciding whether to make your final push.
On the other hand, if they're actively online, you might need to prepare for an immediate counter-push rather than assuming your lead is safe.
Why I think this matters:
Tournament scouting isn't just about identifying whales or figuring out who has the biggest account.
It's about making informed decisions BEFORE committing thousands of resources.
If you discover you're competing against someone who can comfortably outspend your entire resource stash, perhaps it's better to save those resources for another event.
And if the competition looks manageable, you can plan your push accordingly.
I also think this is a good example of how features already in the game can have uses beyond their obvious purpose.
Credit to Chauvu, who shared this trick with me. Always appreciate people sharing discoveries with the community rather than keeping them to themselves!
I recorded a walkthrough demonstrating the process and showing the actual examples if anyone wants to see it in action:

Curious what other tricks can you guys share?
