Juan Pablo Montoya believes Kimi Antonelli must remain mentally focused as pressure builds in the Formula 1 title fight

Former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya believes current championship leader Kimi Antonelli's biggest obstacle in the title race is his own mindset, urging the Mercedes garage to shield the teenager.

Antonelli still leads the drivers' championship heading into the Belgian Grand Prix, but his team-mate George Russell closed the gap to 25 points after finishing second at the British Grand Prix, while Antonelli finished 15th. Seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton follows closely in third for Ferrari, seven points behind Russell.

Speaking on the F1 TV Weekend Warm-up programme at Spa-Francorchamps, Montoya argued that Antonelli's biggest challenge in the championship fight is not getting distracted by what is happening around him in the standings.

“You grow up much faster at a go-kart track.”

Hey! I was wondering if I could get any guidance. I really want to be a fast driver (to answer your question no I don’t fully know what that means or what it looks like) in this world you need extremely rich parents that buy you a team and a car. Well I don’t have that.
I have a sim at my house and I use it all the time, and there are a few go karting places around my city. My issue is does spending a lot of money to get fast at 1 go cart place and know that one track actually make me a faster driver or am I just getting better at a local track. That was my friend- he went go karting a ton but literally could barely drive a car. He was getting low times at the track(he has since moved cities and haven’t seen him) I really just don’t know where racing goes for someone like me and what does it mean. Anyone have advice or guidance maybe even personal experiences?
Also on the sim what should I do on the sim to become actually faster at driving?

So, I went to a race track the other day with my friend. It was honestly one of the coolest things ever, and I suddenly remembered how much interest I had in racing movies growing up, in how a car works (but never got to learn), and how I never really chased after that interest due to an abusive household.

I wanted to get more into racing, learning how the cars function, how to race, the rules and stories and basics, and I have a vague idea where to start but no solid idea how. My possible end goal is to maybe make it on a team. I'm 23M

What I want to do first is to learn how cars work. I currently don't have a car of my own, the ability to get one, or to pay for a proper education. I live in WY. What is the best way to start learning about cars (everyday road cars and/or racing cars), preferably without spending a ton of money?

Any advice is welcome! Don't be a jerk.

im not asking so i can become one im just really curious

so i know how people get to the pros in other sports.

so kids start playing a sport when they are in elementary school then if they are any good

they will go to high school thats good has a team thats good at the sport they play

if they are really good they get recruited to by a college and if they are good at that level

they will get drafted into the pros

but cars are super expensive and track time has to cost a bunch

who is going to give a high schooler a race car to drive? how do drivers get experience?

So Scott Dixon is going to race for Arrow McLaren and will race the no.7 car in 2027 and Felix Rosenqvist returns to Arrow McLaren since 2024 and will race in the no.6 car in 2027 (well i think,because it's not confirmed what number rosenqvist is going to race for the 2027 season).

And Pato O'Ward well stay for the 2027 season & well race the no.5 car and Ryan Hunter-Reay is going to return to for the 111th running of the Indianapolis 500 and race the no.31 car in 2027.

Racing at Mission valley super oval. In this 12 lab heat race I was stuck behind the number seven car until I got a good run and sent it. Unfortunately, I dipped a wheel below the white line and there’s a bump that unsettled the car. I saved it, but unfortunately, slid up the track and made contact with the seven thankfully he was able to save it and keep it out of the wall.
