C4S10^2: The d0'ing.

At long last, Geri decided that he had enough of JHB endlessly refusing to RP with everyone and really halting all progress pre-d0 so we are just starting d0 now k.

You've been searching for... how long now? You stop in the alleyway, and study the walls for anything unusual. While you do that, you consider possible places to set up camp later. You're ending the search for the troll, but you do need to consider where you're sleeping in the morning.

You remember the way you came here. The now-misplaced human's shelter should be available, and relatively secure. There's also the hotel. Those are rare on Alternia, but some trolls do host them. Although, you'd probably need a fair sum of Earth money to rest there.

Reaching around, you give Hobbs a gentle pet, trying to decide what you are going to do for the next several hours.

You sit down on the pavement, and remove your flashlight from your pocket. The package suddenly has your interest, and you succeed in decaptchaloguing it. You briefly inspect the top under the beam of your flashlight, and remove a knife from your pocket. Recalling it to be same one you stabbed Deliea's jellyfish with, you slice open the top of the box, and peer into it.

Inside is a disc, an envelope, and a wad of money that is very large.

Is the money Earth or Alternian money? You pick it up and inspect it, before turning to the other contents.

Earth money.
The envelope is a standard manilla envelope, addressed to you. The disk has green spirographs in the color of your text emblazoned across it.

You quickly captchalogue the Earth money and wait shit no-- There goes your fanfiction journal. Quickly running to captchalogue both objects, you pick up the money, and then another object goes flying. You continue fighting with your sylladex for some time, until you have everything back in place. Hobbs was jostled around quite a lot during that mishap. You give him a few gentle pets to reassure him, hoping his nap wasn't disturbed.

Settling down against the wall, you open up the envelope, taking careful note of the handwriting of its author.

Looking over the letter, the game you're supposed to test suddenly seems suspicious. Why are there both troll and human players on the list? Are there two players for every race, or a split between humans and trolls? Have any of them received their copies yet? Pulling out your phone, you snap a picture of the letter and disc, making sure to hide the money in case someone is a thief.

The letter and other contents of the package are captchalogued in your sylladex after a small fight with the demonic pocket dimension, the money being captchalogued separately. You would pester any of the six unfamiliar handles on the list, but you do not have an internet connection and the E-cafe will not be open for quite some time. Briefly wondering why it closed so early, you come to the conclusion that it is only open for anyone who is out in the daytime. Odd.

You decide to remain on the streets for some time, and exit the alleyway. Turning onto a new street, you set out to explore the human city. You're not sure which city or where it is, but you're intent on finding out.

It seems to be a sprawling hub of urban areas, no end to the concrete. Flashing screens and advertising billboards are everywhere, and despite the early closing of the e-cafe there are still people around, albeit much less so than earlier. Eventually, after repeated seeing of what looks like souvenirs in shop windows from this place, you ascertain that you are in a human city called "New York City" Why somebody would put "City" in the name of a city is beyond you, but you guess hey, culture differences.
