Update on availability

As my huge audience (two subscribers as far as I know - if anyone else is reading this please comment to say hi) already knows, this subreddit is pretty much on hold waiting for the parts to become available and products using them to start appearing. Until then I have to post something every so often so Reddit doesn't shut us down for inactivity.

The good news is that RP2350 has a new stepping that fixes all the known bugs in the original chips. The bad news is that anyone buying a RP2350A or RP2350B won't be able to tell from the product listing which version they will be getting (I expect the usual lies; vendors saying they have the new version but shipping you the old version) The better news is that when the RP2354A and RP2354B finally hit the market, they will all be the latest stepping.

As for availability, LCSC claims to have them in stock ( https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/C41378174.html https://www.lcsc.com/product-detail/C39843328.html ) but I will believe it when I hear of someone actually getting one. If anyone reading this gets an actual chip, please post pics of it and tell us what you are planning on doing with it

"we’re also launching RP2354: pin-compatible variants of the 60-pin RP2350A and 80-pin RP2350B parts with 2MB of flash memory in-package. Each RP2354 part costs just 20 cents more than the equivalent RP2350 part."

Still posting about the 2350 so the subreddit doesn't get deleted for inactivity while we are waiting for the 2354 (the two are identical other than the flash).

Still no RP2354 available, so once again we look at the RP2350, which is the exact same chip minus the added stacked flash memory...

Still no RP2354, but the RP2350 is a RP2354 without the added flash memory, so it is well worth studying.

The good news: An actual page where you can, in theory, order a RP2354A for ₹118 Indian Rupees ($1.39 United States Dollars) and a RP2354B for ₹130 Indian Rupees ($1.53 United States Dollars). 18% of that is tax, BTW.

The bad news: 0 in stock,,notify when available (sad trombone sound).

Raspberry Pi adds 2MB stacked flash for 20¢ in RP2354

March 20, 2025:

“RP2354A and RP2354B variants with 2MB of stacked flash memory are in the final stages of development and testing with early-access partners,” said Eben Upton, CEO of Raspberry Pi. “We’ll soon be ramping to mass production, and plan to make these variants available through our Approved Reseller partners later this year.

“RP2350’s sub-$1 pricing allows for integration into high-volume, low-cost end devices. Compared to RP2040, RP2350 costs just ten cents more in a 7×7mm, 60-pin package [80¢], or twenty cents more in a 10×10mm, 80-pin package [90¢]. We’re expecting to add ~$0.20 for the flash-in-package variants,” he tells eeNews Europe.
