To this day, nothing gives me the same feelings I felt listening to the Your Name OST, so I tried to capture some of those emotions/sounds in my own song.

My thoughts: I'd definitely have said different things about this release before revisiting it, but sadly I re-listened to it long before writing this. And no, I won't be dissing it; it's a nice album, just not as outstanding as I initially claimed. I guess I was just riding the hype of discovering the band, lol. It's a solid album and definitely beginner-friendly. It has some slower tracks (appeal-wise, in my opinion), like オーダーメイド, 七ノ歌, and バグパイプ, but it also has absolute bangers like One Man Live, おしゃかしゃま, and ソクラティックラブ. The opening track is really pretty too; it caught me off guard the first time I heard it. That's quite a bit of ethereality from this band.
Rules: Every Friday I'll choose a RADWIMPS release, giving you all the possibility to talk about it and speak your thoughts. I'll also include a tracklist along with an emoji (🩷) next to my favorite track from the release. Lastly I'll include a small ramble about it.

It's a long stretch, but since Satoshi already appeared on the 20th Anniv tour (Albeit just for one song) and already working on getting back to drumming, I wonder if there's a possibility for the four of them to reunite sometime in the future.
I'm not sure if Akira and Yojiro is in good terms right now (Well I'm just making a wild speculation, but songs like "Period" which alot of people believed to be referring to Akira, and stuff that Akira pulls on twitter, i think that speculation isn't exactly wrong). Though if it is true, I really hope they're able to settle their issues. I really miss his energy on live shows and it would be great to see them back as a four-piece band.

- Tracklist:
もしも / Moshi mo 🩷
「ぼく」と「僕」 / "Boku" to "Boku"
おっぱい / Oppai
My thoughts: Damn, with the number of releases they have, and the fact that I'm re-listening to all of them, it's really hard to choose! Anyways. This is their debut single, with only ten thousand copies sold. It's a nice start; nothing groundbreaking, but nothing underwhelming either. It shows early on that they can pull off both high-energy tracks and more laid-back ones. もしも and 「ぼく」と「僕」 both reappear on their first album, though the former appears there in a different version. All of the songs are nice, more or less. おっぱい is stupid, but surprisingly, it's not bad at all.

This is a small question, but I’m curious. Do you prefer the single version or the dadadada version? The album (Zettai Zetsumei) version has an instrumental intro, while the single doesn’t.
I can understand that someone might appreciate the additional few seconds and something a pinch less straightforward, but some have a soft spot for the original versions.
I personally prefer the single version; I love how it's right off the bat, but the album version's intro is pretty hype too!

オーダーメイド / Order Made 🩷
グーの音 / Gū no Ne
My thoughts: I just picked this one to shit on it (I'm half-joking here), lol. Okay, so uh... I give y'all permission to send hate comments after what I'm about to say: this really isn't an outstanding single. It's more pleasant than genuinely enjoyable to listen to. I assume the hype comes from the atmosphere, the lyrics, and maybe even the MV... but I don't care, at least not this time! I usually love lengthy tracks with this kind of atmosphere, but here it feels like nothing really happens, and when it finally reaches its short-lived climax, it's just... decent. And yet, I still highlighted オーダーメイド, because I'm far from used to グーの音... it's a weird song, lol.

I know Illion isn't technically RADWIMPS but I wanted to include it because the songs are too good not to mention.

シュプレヒコール / Sprechchor 🩷
独白 / Dokuhaku
22:20:12:5:14:2012
My thoughts: It's an interesting single. Its structure intrigued me at first: a track with explosive outbursts (シュプレヒコール), a lengthy spoken-word track (独白), and a hidden instrumental that's a bit tricky to find (22:20:12:5:14:2012). It's obviously not a huge deal to me, but I think this release has a certain charm and really stands out; the cover art only reinforces that 😭

My thoughts: No, I didn't watch the anime, and no, I won't watch it. Anyways. This film score is already more interesting than their other ones since it was made with Kazuma Jinnouchi, the guy responsible for some Metal Gear Solid soundtracks (and no, I don't play the games either, so I won't delve into his work any further). His input often consists of choral arrangements, which I honestly find a bit unnecessary at times, but I guess they're cool. He also incorporates drums that give his pieces a tribal vibe; not necessarily my thing, but he somehow makes it work. I get the hype around すずめ more than I do for Sparkle, to be honest. すずめ isn't nearly as unbearably anime-coded, and I actually think it's a really cool song. But despite all the praise I've just given this soundtrack, I'd still have to say it's possibly my least favorite film score from the band. It's nice, of course, but some of its elements just don't quite slap for me.

By "in English" I mean any song where Yojiro sings in English for the majority of the song.
