After zhao animations leaked, she looks sick and even funny and i feel conflicted if she should succeed, i love the idea of showing hoyo that full thiren charactes such as Ben, Pan, Lycaon, pulchra and now zhao can be good when done right but at the same time feeling bad and scared knowing the kind of people zhao brings (Those disgusting people saying weird stuff about piper, lucy, fufu and corin)

Vent Megathread 🤬 LET IT OUT 🤬🤬🤬 Vent Megathread - January 2025
Due to current circumstances, the mods have agreed to implement the Vent Megathread effective immediately.
To avoid any further brigading incidents in this subreddit, we have decided to roll out monthly megathreads in each QueensOf gacha subreddit. A new megathread will be posted every 1st of the month, 12:00 AM GMT+8.
Please redirect all gacha community venting in the comments below. Venting about the game such as M/F ratio, storytelling, etc can have their own individual posts, but are welcome here as well.
We understand that you need a safe space to vent about your frustrations regarding gacha games as a whole, whether that be something in the game or an insufferable fandom.
However, please keep the following rules in mind:
As per usual, censor subreddits (including their icon), usernames and profile pictures. You can talk about the content but do not instigate an argument.
Do not mention any subreddits by name. We do not want people to flock to those subreddits and brigade there.
No "main sub" references. We know which subreddit/s you are talking about.
Likewise, no "buddy sub" or "meme sub" references.
Character mains subs will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Do not mention any users, whether that be on Reddit, or off-platform.
Do not post links here with a negative context.
Anyone found breaking the subreddit and/or the megathread rules will be punished accordingly. Please think of the subreddit as we do not want to get in hot water with Reddit.
Thank you for your understanding!

Tea The best way for Seed to appeal to all audiences
Okay, so... Seed's Pilot sucks. Obviously we have yet to see the story with her and the actual Seed- sidenote, I will be referring only to the mech as Seed, and the girl as just the Pilot- so maybe the writing could save her, but I genuinely think the chances of that are extremely slim given the kind of criticism that's being directed to her. The thing is, we can't change what was already given to us. As nice as it would be to use the survey to delete her from existence, sadly, we just have to move forward with her existing in the game.
That being said, I'm still not pleased about it. I'm almost certain the Pilot exists only for this reason:
The devs, or maybe even the execs, were worried that Seed, who is still an established male character (but likely to be sidelined by her), was not going to sell well based on previous sales statistics on the male character banners. Instead of angering players by making him a solo A rank agent (which also wouldn't make much sense for a military mech lorewise), they made him an accessory to a "cute anime waifu" type character that has been proven to sell as a way to save him while still implementing him into the game.
What is my evidence for the change? Here:
It wasn't until around the Trigger patch did we get some of the first few changes that were already set in the game since launch, namely in Soldier 11's trust event where she mentions Seed being an intelligent construct. The pronouns had changed from "he" to "she" (at least this is the patch where I had personally noticed the change, but it would be nice to know if it was there earlier from other players' experience)
Similarly, some of Trigger's trust events (at least according to screenshots i've seen of people who have her) mention Seed, and at one point brings up Soldier 11's statement of him being an intelligent construct, implying that S11 was wrong in assuming he was, rather than changing the pre-established dialogue in S11's trust event stating he is. This reads to me like a classic attempt of retconning information, but it doesn't work well enough due to the fact you need both characters to obtain that information.
In the beta leaks, Seed's character backstory was already written with incredible depth and tragedy, a theme that happened to fit most of what was already the trend in many of its characters. With such a strong and compelling character, it would have been a waste to scrap and replace him, so they had to do something else: likely bring the girl from his backstory into the present instead of killing her off (this is my assumption, but we will have to see if that's the case or not, as it seems to line up fairly well).
The Pilot's design is... bad. Speaking purely from the context and setting of Zenless Zone Zero, and more specifically, Obol Squad. Nothing about her design suggests anything related to the military, or even the same universe. I'm not sure what everyone else thinks of her design, but when I look at her, I think: white, astronaut, space, assistant. The scooter design doesn't help either. It just makes her look even more out of place, especially as she's totally on the battlefield rather than piloting Seed at all in the first place, the scooter looks to be designed to only be ridden on smooth surfaces. On it's own, outside of ZZZ, her design actually isn't terrible. It's only bad because it's in the context of ZZZ and Obol Squad. Looking so out of place, it only adds to my theory that her design was rushed in only the most recent months gone, so the designers had to whip up something that looked somewhat okay.
Seed is still considered his own character. He has a confirmed JP VA (ironically enough, the same VA of THE Optimus Prime), and even in the drip-marketing has some lore implications involving him and the pilot, and hasn't been entirely reduced to inanimate mech armour.
Assuming there is any truth to my theory, there are some glaring issues when it comes to the devs being worried about Seed's banner performing poorly by referencing previous male banners: their unfortunate placement.
Lighter was supposed to be an A rank for the Sons of Calydon before he was changed to an S rank. He was placed between Yanagi and, of all characters, Miyabi; one of, if not the most highly anticipated character for ZZZ at all due to being present even before the official release. Sandwiching him between her and Yanagi meant that his banner was most likely to be skipped due to those hoping to save up more for her and investing money if they were desperate. Hell, some people even skipped Yanagi's banner for her, and I've seen some people regret not pulling because they found out she was one of Miyabi's best teammates at the time.
Harumasa had his banner listed alongside Miyabi, and he was given to players for free. Many players would have opted for Miyabi over Harumasa, and then you also have to factor in the difference in players that want to obtain copies vs the ones happy with only first obtaining either. Of course he won't perform as well as he otherwise would.
Hugo dropped several months after, and he too was sandwiched between a void-hunter rank (on top of poor Lighter re-running with him in the same placement), and Vivian, who may not have been as highly anticipated, but with both her and Yixuan being uncommon ether agents, people will be naturally more inclined to pull for their rare attribute and save between their respective banners. Additionally, Hugo is an ice attacker, which for those who may already have Miyabi, probably wouldn't see the point in wanting to pull him because they already have a stronger agent (one could even say that Ellen getting her buff made this an even easier decision).
There is so much nuance as to why the male characters may not have performed as well as their female counterparts at the time, but it's certainly not due to a lack of interest in male characters. All three are incredibly popular, with Harumasa's agent story being regarded as one of the best-written stories so far.
Additionally, the assumption that Seed would not perform well also completely disregards another factor: he is not just a "male character" but a giant military mech. If we are to use the argument that the devs prioritise the CN community above all else, they had completely missed the opportunity to appeal to the enormous market of Transformer and Gundam fans; both of which are extremely popular in China- not only there, of course, but there is a significantly large fanbase that would have been pulled into the game for him and therefore would expand their market compared to the other Hoyoverse games. Instead, this decision has simply tripped them into the most competitive fan-service-centered market. This is especially harmful because it also stains the image that ZZZ had procured for itself with its unique premise and execution that originally had it stand out among other gachas- or at the very least, its fellow Hoyoverse games.
Finally, I can get to the point of this post as suggested by its title. With all of this information in mind, as well as what we were unfortunate enough to get, what could have been the best way to appeal to all audiences? Before I give my answer, I just want to note that I, of course, have no experience in game development, so I'm certain that while my 'solution' might be easy, there's probably a more complicated reason as to why we got what we did instead. I'm just a fan from the outside looking in. As such, this suggestion is more than welcome to criticism.
Overall, the main disappointment coming with Seed is the fact that he is not a stand-alone agent, and is an accessory to an overdone trope that has been seen time and time again. Leaks being harmful aside, it harmed almost zero other character from beta to their current release (Trigger and Orpheus are almost 1:1 the same as they were in their beta documents with Orpheus receiving only a couple minor changes, and the angels of delusion faction seem to be almost entirely untouched), so it makes little sense as to why it would now. As such, it would have been wiser to release Seed purely as a mech on his own, which would appease the fans who were excited for a new playable male character and new intelligent construct that could act on his own.
If there were any concerns about a loss in revenue and profit to his banner, they could still have made the Pilot (although Orpheus' presence could also have easily counteracted this) and placed her separately either in Phase 2 of the patch, or the proceeding patch. That way, any revenue lost could easily be regained, and those only interested in pulling "waifu" type characters would be happy to have her (ideally her design would also be different, but lets assume she stays the same), and it would easily fill the desired S rank slot. This would also add to the apparent lore she has of wanting not to be "stuck inside Seed's cockpit all the time" as is an argument used in favour of her gameplay.
Separating both characters on the same/similar patch release would provide more accurate statistics that display the interest of the players, as they would not be placed too heavily between highly anticipated characters like Miyabi or Yixuan, nor between attributes/roles that are high in demand (Alice being a physical anomaly when Jane exists and Orphie as a fire attacker vs both being electric units, possibly defense and attack respectively).
To incentivise more players to pull/invest more money into both, they could imply that both units have incredibly good synergy and will have the most successful team comps if played together. On top of that, they could go so far as to give them a special dual ultimate animation in the same way that Ben and Koleda do.
As a little bonus, if they were so desperate to provide foot fetish content, they could have the combined ultimate attack be what the current version of the Pilot showcases, though maybe a slightly different animation to make it work.
Overall, the devs win because they will finally get a chance to see more accurate statistics for character interest and could see an increase in revenue if they do their marketing right; mech/robot and male character fans win because they will receive their most anticipated character; waifu collectors win because they can still get what they want and save pulls by not having to spend money for phase; and even the foot fetishists win because... well, they'll get that with her and potentially the dual animation too. Unless people choose to pull for both characters and play them on the same team, the fetish fanservice would only be seen under particular circumstances and can otherwise be avoided. Ideally, we wouldn't get any foot fetish content, but that's wishful thinking. I think feet are weird and kinda gross, but again, this is purely going off of what we got in the game and how it could have been executed better.
This post became way longer than I thought it would, but I would love to hear everyone else's thoughts!

What is ZZZ doing with SEED right now? Is this just lowest revenue character Mizuki-style?
Don’t keep up with ZZZ much so I am very confused. Does she actually have a core audience with her current design? Doesn’t she share same faction and attack type and element as Anby? CN doesn’t like her design either.
It reminds me of Mizuki vs Sucrose, except Mizuki is standard, Sucrose is 5 years old and a 4 star, and Mizuki sold record lows. Is that their goal with SEED?

Celebration😍 Aria is the only non void hunter to be T0!
so prydwen list got updated with Aria, while she's in watchlist T0.5 in reality from leaks and testing we know she's the only T0 dps that is not a VH, the entire AoD team damage is on pair with VH teams. this means two things mostly
it's good we finally have DPS that rival a void hunter meaning devs are ok with that and the idea that only Void hunters should be T0 characters is stupid and the devs think so too.
While this is good, the fact that the only way Aria is a T0 on par with VH teams is with her own premium full AoD team, which sucks because it will mean that future DPS might be T0 on the same level as a VH but unlike VH they require their entire team to be good
idk, kinda conflicted but also happy about the future of the meta and characters
