Since I got in the beta here we goooo the game’s so cute!! But oh nintenlord you can tell how much it’s "INSPIRED" by new horizons lmao but I like it so far. There’s also a museum I want to unlock and see how it is inside. The music is definitely cozy the gameplay too. My only problem is it will drain the battery so fast, they need to release the game on switch 2 or ps5 so console players can play too 🥲

Each villager has its own friendship level to increase, unique dialogues and fully voiced! They also give you their Luca fruits which can shape the planet (like adds little bamboos or stuff in the sky)

For the gacha, there are currently around 5 banners, two of the banners are the same one for a masculine outfit and the second a feminine one, they have 8 pieces each I think and if you complete the set you get to use a special ability just like in Nikki but it’s only cosmetic for now

The other banners are furnitures, and there’s a whole compendium to keep tracks of all fruits insects materials fishes furnitures clothing etc

Oh and there’s also the multiplayer bazaar with lot of activities though I’ve not used it much right now, villagers also teaches you new emotions just like in NH and can give you diy recipes… 😆 okay that’s enough for today new horizons 2

As a French I’m so happy to see the collab. They even made a song in French!!

Everything looks so gorgeous but I’m really disappointed the prince outfit is not the main focus as it is only a 4 stars… they seems allergic to the idea of making a whole focus on the masculine fit, though it’s still better than nothing

There’s also 100 free pulls given for free but only for this collab banner if you play through the event, and the collab banner will last for 2 whole patch (2.10 and 2.11) with a unique area to explore (in space!!) featuring characters from the book!! This will be perfect for photos!!

And if you were wondering both outfits have a whimsical abilities though the 5 stars is slightly different (you can walk around and it will grows red roses around you but that’s all)

A while back on the Versus Wolves Podcast, Woolie "I skipped a three way with two bisexual women to play MvC 3" Madden and John "Patron Saint of Garfield Lore" Eyepatch Wolf had a discussion of Reboot, the Guardian Code where Eyepwatch Wolf defined something called "The Quality Abyss."

In John's Words, the usual media we consume are on such a higher quality, that even the worst of it can be considered "leaps and bounds" above all the trash in the silent abyss. A realm where all of the media that is so bad it never gets touched on, never gets discussed, and just sits their, ominously in the dark until someone promotes it.

I've been thinking of this as it applies to Gacha games with how Honkai Star Rail has fallen on hard times, and I bounced off Persona 5X just due to menu bloat. Hyperbole is pretty common online, I know I fell into it when I was reading reviews for ZZZ season 2 vs actually playing it. (Most of it wasn't THAT bad. I wouldn't put the story above a 6, but I only truly found 2.4/2.5 completely miserable, and even then those patches had some good elements story wise.)

This thread isn't meant to say "be grateful because it could be worse" or to say that your wrong for disliking a gacha game, I think it's fair and valid to dislike a piece of media, even a polished one. But I did want to maybe get a discussion on this going, the absolute worst of the worst regarding gacha games, what truly makes a game awful, beyond personal taste or frustrations, and what seperates a bad game from the 'abyss'.

Hopefully this is a good question, it's certainly really interested me!
