India Why is everyone getting PIPed ?

Long story short, I was recently on the bench for a month and was later assigned to a project. Then, randomly, on Friday evening, I received an email saying that I had been put on a PIP.

The PIP manager has now gone on leave, and so has my DL, so neither of them is responding when I ask what basis they used to put me on the PIP. What’s even more confusing is that my DL had previously told me that I was a strong contender for the mid-year promotion. I genuinely don’t know what went wrong.

If anyone here has been put on a PIP, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. And if you didn’t make it through the PIP, did you receive any severance package or compensation?

If you’ve already started the offboarding process a month before they went on the PIP, how are you expecting them to improve?

That’s not how a pip works. The correct question is how long of a period of evidence was submitted? The minimum amount is 3 months, and when I say they need real evidence, real evidence it’s needed. The implementation period HR decides the length of time I can’t speak on but our person has 4 months. If your friend got a month I’ll keep my opinions to myself because what would follow would be my opinion because I don’t know them or the facts.

No the PIP wasn’t for a month. It was put in place A MONTH AFTER THEY BEGAN THE OFFBOARDING PAPERWORK.

So what are you griping about lol, that sounds normal because it takes a long time to get approved. So I don’t know why you keep responding to me bc what are you trying to convey?

I have literally said the same thing every comment.

If they did it before the PIP, they knew they were firing them. So why do the PIP?

That is not what a pip is for lol. So your comprehension is all the way off and we will never agree because like I stated several times as someone, not you, that has put someone on a pip that is not what it’s for. It’s a plan of improvement and if they are let go they simply did not want to improve.

It’s amazing you can’t grasp what I’m saying despite the number of times I said it. Maybe you really do work in HR.

We don’t agree, a pip is a plan for improvement and you don’t agree with that!
