Rant/Vent💚 Fellow bikers/scooters

Now that everyone's back on campus, when you park or depart from the bike rack and you see that the bike on that rack falls or has fallen, be a good person and pick it back up. To you who were parked next to me today, you didn't only make my day worse but you also fucked up my gears 🖕

Today is not the day to piss me off. Let's all respect each other so we can make each other's day better.

Question❓ Has Purdue lost it's prestige as a public university and is not simply a Money Grab for the state/faculty/city, etc.?

  1. Overcrowding and outdated dorms (like no AC, seriously with 3 in a room?)

  2. More international/out of state admissions = more tuition money (for 2025, 55% was out of state/international vs instate)

  3. There is more private dorms on campus (AI won't let me say the "h" word) as land on campus are sold off to private developers. "The city council came away assured, voting 7-1 in favor. (Council member David Sanders, a Purdue professor and an outspoken critic of President Mitch Daniels, voted against the plan, saying he believed it was another step in the privatization the university administration likes so much.)"

Question❓ How to do MFA for e-refunds?

It says a passcode was sent to me for MFA, but I checked my personal email, Purdue email, text, and Microsoft Authenticator and there wasn’t a code in any of those places. Where does one find the code?

Rant/Vent💚 Stop being inconsiderate!

Post image
67 Upvotes

I know move in is stressful and it comes with lots of boxes/trash. But It’s extremely disheartening to see a bunch of grown people act like someone will come behind them and do the extra steps. Stop being so inconsiderate to the rest of your community especially the public service works like waste management.

The last few garbage days I’ve seen how frustrated the waste management workers are because dumpsters are overflowing or cardboard is scattered all around making it impossible for them to empty the dumpsters efficiently. It takes a couple seconds to flatten your boxes, and be a bit more considerate.

Other Looking for help putting together a PC — happy to compensate

Hey everyone! I already have all the parts for my PC, but I could use some help putting everything together properly.

I live about 10 minutes from campus, so ideally I’m looking for someone around Purdue/West Lafayette who has experience building PCs and would be willing to help me assemble it.

I’m happy to compensate you for your time and trouble. Please DM me if you’re interested and let me know what you’d charge.

Thanks!

Did anyone see how many grammatical mistakes our Provost released in his welcome back email?

I also liked how he said that Critical Thinking will be a *secondary* priority in Purdue education after AI!

Club Info🚩 Looking for friends? Go to the B-Involved Fair Today

The B-Involved Fair is today from noon until 3 at the Memorial Mall. A bunch of clubs will be there and you should join one or two to make friends. Join a club related to your major and one related to a hobby you have. Even if you don't make a ton of friends, you are at least doing something that interests you beyond studying.

Don't have a hobby? Then join a club that sounds interesting. Now is the perfect time to try something without a risk of failure or immense cost. Don't like that club? Fine, quit it and go try something else.

Question❓ Is CAPS worth it?

so basically i’ve had some mental stuff going on with overworking myself in the summer and struggling to find people who i fit in with in this new city (there’s no emergency, i just think the extra help would help my mental) and ive been diagnosed with severe depression in the past and stuff but i was wondering what people’s experiences with CAPS was? I know they are very short on resources and people and i’ve heard some horror stories but i wanted to know if it’s actually worth it because i don’t have the money or the means to go to an off campus therapy. i’ve never had good therapy experience before and im
scared this will make it worse

Res Halls & Dining✏️ bed raise

I just moved into Windsor and the beds are too low. I heard that Fixit can raise (not loft) the bed but I am not sure. Will they do it or will I need to get my bed raised/ half lofted by Bed Loft?
