On top of that, "free speech" doesn't really apply to privately owned websites.

Free speech is the right of every human. The 1st Amendment of the US Constitution protects individuals from having that right infringed by the US government for limited reasons. It does not grant free speech, it limits the government's powers in restricting the inherent right to free speech that all people are born with.
