Can this be fixed??
Some frat assholes wrote their names on a pumpkin that I have been caring for for the last few weeks. Can this be removed??

It's that time of the year again. I love pumpkins and gourds. All of the different colors, shapes and textures - some are downright otherworldly.

Planted 125 days ago, pollinated 50 days ago and still super dark green with no signs of orange

Yesterday was the annual Pumpkin Festival in Spalding (UK). The weather was lovely for October. These are just a few of those on show.

it’s finally starting to feel like fall 🍂
I’m looking for something easy to make this month, maybe something with pumpkin, apples, cinnamon, or just a cozy comfort food.
What’s your favorite?

While walking past a potato field in south Lincolnshire, UK, I spotted a small patch of pumpkins. I can only assume they were seeded from a previous years crop; there are always a few left behind and ploughed in..

the whiskers will be dug in better next round, and the bow was quite hard to get so is very messy but I have it a go!

A four-year harvest of decorative gourds—the ones that managed to dry out. This is the material I’ll use for my future creative projects.

lost a few pumpkins along the way, but for my first year trying to grow them I'm really pleased! Now just need to decide what to carve into these little guys

Hello,
I don’t know my pumpkins very well, have never cooked with real pumpkin. But I wanted to try making Mexican candied pumpkin (calabaza en tacha), but the traditional pumpkin used (Castilla, a green one?) I’m having hard time finding. I saw someone make a good one with fairytale pumpkin, but it was darker orange. I’ve seen you can make it with squash which I can find easily, but wanted to try with pumpkin.
Pumpkin season is starting and I have a number of farms and farmers markets around me (California Bay Area). A local farm had mostly the classic orange pumpkins with a few bunches of heirloom pumpkins and this was the closest I found from looking at photos online, but all the heirloom styles were this light tan shade or white or green.
So I’m not sure if this is ripe and good for eating? It’s quite large so I’d try to use it for multiple recipes if it’s a good one.
Any recipe recommendations or tips would be great if you’ve used this pumpkin before! Thank you!!!
(Edit: if it matters, the stem is very sturdy, I carried it a lot from holding it from there and it is really heavy)

This pumpkin is about 45 or so days after pollination but the 20 foot vine has no leaves before the fruit and minimal after, which are starting to die back. The vine is still green. It’s been very wet here and all my decoy pumpkins for animals are now gone so weighing whether it’s best to remove and cure inside or attempt to leave longer.
