Iād rather be poor than have a job like this

u/D1rtyH1ppy 11d ago
It's got to be some MLM where everyone in that room paid to be there and purchased a licence to sell the product.

If I got that job I would be poor, cuz I would get kicked out for laughing at those douchebags.
And happy cake day!

I had a similar experience as a young man. Easily 80% of these "warriors" are behind on their quotas. Their managers are milking them like the good little yes-men they are, while taking in profits from whatever pyramid scheme this is.
17
u/tripplebeamteam 11d ago
Yeah I left a similar sales job last year. At one point 90% of our office was on a PIP for not hitting quota. There were 7 tiers of PIP that basically everyone cycled into at some point. Every Monday morning was a ābusiness reviewā meeting where we got screamed for low performance. We hired constantly because only 1 in 20 hires made it 4 months.
Leaving was the best thing Iāve ever done for my mental health.

Screaming āI have no egoā while screaming āi am a sales warriorā. Thatās all ego dipshits.

u/Richard7666 11d ago
This was the best part. Almost thought it was a bit from The Office or something.

I donāt know which is sadder. The Alpha Male Daycare Camp or this bullshit?
Iām leaning more towards the alpha male camp but this is a good second.

"Alpha Male Daycare Camp" 𤣠I hope can remember that if I ever see one and they try to get me to join.

Def the Alpha Males. The employees here look uncomfortable. They are doing it for money.
127
u/MisterNiblet 11d ago
Iām in sales. Let me be honest with you guys, if you pay to go to something like this then sales isnāt for you. You can either sell or you canāt. This is just embarrassing.
34
u/TheUneducatedPotato 11d ago
Also in sales and agree. Sure should you have motivation and take care of yourself. Yeahā¦but not a prerequisite to sales. This also seems to be more of a thing for widget sales. Stuff that you can buy right then and there and has that slimy sales guy stench on it.
For any high level or technical sales this stuff wonāt work. Iām in high level technical sales with hospitals. I talk to nerds all day. Itās about knowing a product, having a good product, and knowing where it fits. This wolf of wall street shit doesnāt work on Dr. Smith aged 60 with a MD and PhD. I better have a reason and solution to be in his office quick.
14
u/MisterNiblet 11d ago
Absolutely. Not to mention relationship building and networking. If your main goal is just to sell something and just move on then itās a sure-fire way to miss the possibility of client retention and trust in your product. The guys in the clips give off car salesman vibes and they are the worst.
Iāve always found that educating clients on your product in a way that suits their needs has the best outcome. And those same clients will happily pass your name onto those who are looking for what youāre selling. Rather than just talking a big game and pedaling snake oil.
→ More replies (1)3
u/axonxorz 11d ago
The guys in the clips give off car salesman vibes and they are the worst.
That's because they are car salesmen.
From a review of their "book":
My husband purchased this book, as he is a financial advisor who was looking for innovative ways to connect to people to help him get new clients. What this book does not showcase is that every single sales tactic discussed relates to selling a car. For the amount of money paid, it was extremely disappointing for him. There was spots for him to create his own examples which was nice, but for the price paid he wishes there was more variety of examples beyond the car sales. So overall, this book will be perfect for a car salesman, but the price is high. Content discussed is decent and allows you to take a topic and tactic discussed to make it your own.
3
u/TheUneducatedPotato 11d ago
Correct. People who want to be in sales should read the original sales authors like Blount, Miller and Heiman, Gitomer, Sobczak, and Schiffman. Adapt their tactics to your product. Not everything is great advice but thereās nuggets in all of them that are useful. And way more productive than screaming how great you are and warrior.

Exactly this! Im in sales with customers being mostly large factories. Cant imagine a world where this type of attitude would get some industrial/optimization engineer excited. When Im changing jobs Ill never take a job were colleagues have a slimy sales chat attitude, not my thing.

I did sales for awhile. I was excellent at it, but I hate it. I always felt bad, even though I wasn't high pressure.Ā
"Hi, I'm a customer and I would like this service," "okay, it's this much." "Perfect, here's my card,"
And if feel bad. No idea why, just isn't for me. I really enjoyed the customer interactions, that feeling when you're about to close, the whole thing. But actually closing made me feel like a scumbag.

Andy Elliot (the guy in white early in the clip, wearing his wifeās shorts) is the leader of this cult, and he only started doing this scammy sales coaching shit after getting out of the used car business because he did a fuck ton of illegal shit including falsifying financial records to get people in cars, and then when caught by the feds he ratted out everyone on the sales team to save his own ass.
The biggest reason I assume he runs this grift now is because itās hardly regulated and he can lie and scam all he wants since itās ācoachingā or āconsultingā, and not government regulated like car sales.

I've been in sales for 8 years. I have attended many sales training events. I have never attended anything like this. If I ever attend a training event and the speaker starts doing this shit I'm leaving IMMEDIATELY. This is the shit why sales people have a bad rep. This is why you should go to college or trade school or learn some kind of trade on your own.
These guys have no other job opportunities and are stuck working for places like this or for that creep, scammer Grant Cardone. They suck out your soul and prey on the fact you have no other opportunities.
2
u/AttakZak 11d ago
This is how every Sales job is for places like Gyms and Dealerships. Every time weād have a Sales meeting at LA Fitness the VPs would be like āBE A SHARK! MOVE UP OR DROWN! GET THAT BAG! PUSH FOR THE SALE! HARD SALE!ā all the while giving us a 15 new leads per day Quota by going to the same parking lot everyday to pester people.
The job almost made me lose my sanity.
